Scientific journal is an indicator of the progress of an educational institution. Publication in Scientific Journals is a tool to build the reputation of lecturers, researchers, teachers, and universities. However, the management of journals in Indonesia still does not consider the importance of indexing as a way of global dissemination. This is evident from the data showing that of the total journals registered in Indonesia, only 5.17% have been accredited. Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Mineral Technology, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta has a Scientific Journal called Jurnal Ilmiah Lingkungan Kebumian (JILK). JILK is a forum for writing, scientific work, and research related to the environmental management of the mining industry, environmental management of petroleum and geothermal industry, regional development and disaster mitigation and relevant fields of environmental science and technology studies. Journal accreditation can expand JILK connectivity to improve the quality of publications. The main objectives of this research are to optimize and improve the management of JILK to get maximum accreditation score. There are several steps to conduct this research including identification of the requirement for journal accreditation, preliminary assessment, evaluation of journal management, workshop and benchmarking, implementation of evaluation results, and submit the journal accreditation. The methodology that used for this research are discussion with journal expert and benchmarking with another scientific journal. From the implementation of preliminary assessment from internal editorial team and evaluation from external journal expert, JILK can increase the accreditation score from 59 to 67.

The journal "Radiation Diagnostics, Radiation Therapy" was founded in 2010. The founder and publisher of the journal is the SI "Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine". The purposes and objectives of the journal: informing national and foreign readers about new experimental and clinical researches in the field of radiation diagnostics, radiation therapy and surgery; providing a platform for scientific discussions and reaching consensus on controversial and actual aspects of radiation diagnostics and radiation therapy of diseases in adults and children; promoting the expansion of cooperation between domestic and foreign specialists in the field of radiation diagnostics, radiation therapy and surgery for the formation of modern effective practice. In 2019, the journal was re-registered as "Radiation Diagnostics, Radiation Therapy" (RDRT). All scientific articles are peer-reviewed. Since 2019, all scientific articles published in the journal have been assigned the DOI index as one of an essential accessory for integration into the scientific space of our planet. As of December 2020, a total of 36 RDRT issues have been published. For 10 years, a total of 373 publications, within 23 headings, from 70 institutions of Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Germany, and the USA, have been printed on its pages. All high-tech technologies of radiation diagnostics and radiation therapy to one degree or another are reflected in the published articles. It is planned to master live publication – posting on the Internet in the free access of scientific work, which is periodically brought up to date by its author. The advantages of such a publication: comfortable perception by the reader (in the text, all inaccuracies and errors noticed from the moment of the first publication of the work on-line are carefully corrected, and also changes in this branch of science are constantly monitored); comfort for the author (mistakes and misprints are now not fatal, and do not haunt the author for the rest of his life); interest in the periodically updated publication even intensifies over time, many readers return to the actual text not only to refresh the most significant points in their memory, but also to find out how the author's views are being transformed and what’s new appeared in a particular area. Key words: science, scientific journal, scientific article, scientific communication, scientometrics, scientific ecosystem.

Environmental management related to seismic activities should be given attention, especially in Indonesia. One of the areas in Indonesia that has an active volcano is the Lombok island, namely Rinjani Mount. According to the center of Volcanology and Disaster Mitigation Bandung, Rinjani Mount still wary status. Losses incurred from a disaster caused by the low human capacity in the region is.Thus it is necessary to know which areas have high, medium and low capacity. So that the community capacity can be optimized, especially in areas with low capacity of the community. The method of this research is to determine the capacity indicator that is used in determining the capacity level of society to earthquake. Create a thematic map for each indicator, then overlay for each indicator that has been given weight according to the level of influence.

Background:  Peer review remains the only way of filtering and improving research. However, there are few studies of peer review based on the contents of review reports, because access to these reports is limited. Objectives: To measure the rejection rate and to investigate the reasons for rejection after peer-review in a specialized scientific journal.  Methods:  We considered the manuscripts submitted to a Russian journal, namely ‘Economy of Region’ (Rus Экономика региона), from 2016 to 2018, and analysed the double-blind review reports related to rejected submissions in qualitative and quantitative terms including descriptive statistics. Results: Of the 1653 submissions from 2016 to 2018, 324 (20%) were published, giving an average rejection rate of 80%. Content analysis of reviewer reports showed five categories of shortcomings in the manuscripts: breaches of publication ethics, mismatch with the journal’s research area, weak research reporting (a major group, which accounted for 66%of the total); lack of novelty, and design errors. We identified two major problems in the peer-review process that require editorial correction: in 36% of the cases, the authors did not send the revised version of the manuscript to the journal after receiving editorial comments and in 30% of the cases, the reviewers made contradictory recommendations. Conclusions: To obtain a more balanced evaluation from experts and to avoid paper losses the editorial team should revise the journal’s instructions to authors, its guide to reviewers, and the form of the reviewer’s report by indicating the weightings assigned to the different criteria and by describing in detail the criteria for a good paper.
