Integrated information theory (IIT) asserts that both the level and the quality of consciousness can be explained by the ability of physical systems to integrate information. Although the scientific content and empirical prospects of IIT have attracted interest, this paper focuses on another aspect of IIT, its unique theoretical structure, which relates the phenomenological axioms with the ontological postulates. In particular, the relationship between the exclusion axiom and the exclusion postulate is unclear. Moreover, the exclusion postulate leads to a serious problem in IIT: the quale underdetermination problem. Therefore, in this paper, I will explore answers to the following three questions: (1) how does the exclusion axiom lead to the exclusion postulate? (2) How does the exclusion postulate cause the qualia underdetermination problem? (3) Is there a solution to this problem? I will provide proposals and arguments for each question. If successful, IIT can be confirmed with respect to, not only its theoretical foundation, but also its practical application.

In the management of Islamic Education Institutions based on management, efforts are needed to improve the quality of comprehensive human resources so that the quality of human beings in Indonesia can adapt well with the development of technology and times (Mutohar, 2014). Therefore Islamic Educational Institutions need a system that helps consumers get information. The information provided aims to provide better communication so that the program of Islamic Education institutions achieving educational goals will become smoother (Yukl, 2017). The implementation of this management concept has 3 key elements including customer satisfaction, service quality and customer loyalty (Kunaifi, 2016). In this case customer satisfaction with information obtained at the time of learning activities becomes importantThis satisfaction increases consumer loyalty at school. This study aims to provide an overview and information system that facilitates the public to receive better communication. This study also examines more deeply how information systems are able to provide satisfaction and increase loyalty to consumers of Islamic Education Institutions. This study uses qualitative data collection methods, namely research procedures that produce descriptive data in the form of information directly, in depth, unstructured. This research was conducted at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo. Primary data sources were obtained from information in the form of interviews with related parties handling the Integrated Information System including the Deputy Principal for Student Affairs, Deputy Principal for Public Relations, IT team and Principal. Secondary data obtained from data that already exists and previous and has a relationship problem that is examined includes the existing literature. The population of the research sample was the guardians of students in SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques include interviews and Literature studies. Interviews were conducted with open-ended questions. Literature study is done by reading literature books, journals, internet and previous research that has been done before. From the analysis and results of the discussion obtained it can be concluded as follows: Integrated information systems have good benefits to schools so that schools can develop marketing and community trust as well-facilitated schools. The existence of an integrated information system can be an added value in increasing the satisfaction and loyalty of guardians of students, students and stakeholders who are interested in the school environment. Integrated information systems always experience developments in accordance with the technology that developed in that year. Therefore, competent funding and human resources are needed in managing the system.

The complexity of the twenty-first century threat landscape contrasts significantly with the bilateral nuclear bargaining context envisioned by classical deterrence theory. Nuclear and conventional arsenals continue to develop alongside antisatellite programs, autonomous robotics or drones, cyber operations, biotechnology, and other innovations barely imagined in the early nuclear age. The concept of cross-domain deterrence emerged near the end of the George W. Bush administration as policymakers and commanders confronted emerging threats to vital American military systems in space and cyberspace. The Pentagon now recognizes five operational environments or so-called domains (land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace), and cross-domain deterrence poses serious problems in practice. This book steps back to assess the theoretical relevance of cross-domain deterrence for the field of international relations. As a general concept, cross-domain deterrence posits that the ways in which actors choose to deter affects the quality of the deterrence they achieve. Contributors to this book include senior and junior scholars and national security practitioners. Their chapters probe the analytical utility of cross-domain deterrence by examining how differences across, and combinations of, different military and nonmilitary instruments can affect choices and outcomes in coercive policy in historical and contemporary cases.

The main aim of this study is to analyze how implementation of integrated information systems (IIS) effects management accounting. Findings based on data collected from 108 Croatian firms confirmed that IIS implementation caused significant management accounting changes. Estimated regression models revealed that the most important IIS characteristic were the analytical capabilities since it positively influenced management accounting changes in four dimensions: internal reporting, budgeting, application of modern accounting techniques and management accounting employees’ jobs. The quality of IIS implementation statistically significantly and positively influenced changes related to data collection and internal reporting. In the segment of budgeting, the quality of implementation of specialized budgeting software had significant and positive influence. The only negative correlation found was the one between the uncertainty of business environment and adoption of modern accounting techniques. Findings from this study provide unique insight into effects of IIS implementation in Croatian firms and can be used by different stakeholders. Firms and IIS vendors should put special focus on implementation of business analytics modules in order to achieve comprehensive benefits in management accounting practices. Providers of accountant’s education should consider the fact that contemporary IIS systems’ environment calls for development of additional skills in the area of information technology, business processes and business communication.

An effort was undertaken to assess the validity of the design criteria currently specified in selected standards. The effort was concentrated on the criteria contained in the Human Engineering Design Criteria for Military Systems Equipment and Facilities (MIL-STD 1472), which is mandatory for use by all Departments and agencies of the Department of Defense. Both psychologists and engineers reviewed individual statements on several levels including: 1) Intelligibility, 2) Consistency with other statements contained within the standard, 3) Consistency with a referenced specification, standard, or other design references, 4) Quality of the statement – Can the statement be attributed to a reference document? If so, does that source agree with that particular statement or has the statement been cited inappropriately or out of context? The quality of the statement was determined by comparing the statement with data contained in a wide variety of handbooks and design guides including: Human Factors Engineering Guide to Equipment Design, Bioastronautics Data Book, NASA NSFC-STD 267A, etc. Also, selected sections were compared with current research as well as reviews of the literature. A record was kept of those statements which could be attributed to a source; those which could not and those which, while they could be attributed to a source, were suspect. Where it was possible to present the data in a tabular or graphic form, the data were reformated. When suspect or apparently data-less areas were uncovered, a three pronged literature review was undertaken. The three prongs included: 1) Determining what was available in the literature. 2) Presenting literature findings in a report format and if possible in a graphic format (matrix, figure, nomograph) emphasizing trade-off possibilities. 3) Identifying what was missing, what needed to be done, and how it should be done. The study described above is part of an on-going effort sponsored by the Naval Air Systems Command. It is expected that both in-house and contractor efforts in this area will be continued and will ultimately result in improved design criteria.
