Dental agenesis is the most common developmental anomaly in humans and is frequently associated with several other oral abnormalities. In the literature, some terms are used to describe missing teeth like oligodontia, anodontia and hypodontia. Hypodontia is the developmental absence of one or more teeth. It can be isolated or as a part of a syndrome such as in ectodermal dysplasia. The consequences of missing teeth include abnormal occlusion or altered facial appearance which can cause psychological distress in some patients. The present case report describes case of familial hypodontia in 14 years female patient with no apparent systemic abnormalities.Birat Journal of Health Sciences 2016 1(1): 71-74

Background: Patients presenting with BIMC are relatively rare and the aim of the Orthodontist is to create a dentition that is functionally and aesthetically acceptable. The BIMC may result in altered facial appearance with malocclusion and psychological distress in some individuals. Case presentation: The present case report describes a 17-year-old female patient with nonsyndromic, BIMC. Clinical and CBCT examinations revealed BIMC. Following open surgical exposure treatment planning, the patient was treated with orthodontic fixed mechanotherapy to correct BIMC and other problems. Slow force mechanics with passive self-ligating MBT 0.022 orthodontic braces were used. Results: Open surgical exposure and active orthodontic treatment was completed in 18 months. The management of BIMC requires multidisciplinary approach to achieve better aesthetics and improved occlusal function. Conclusion: A combined Open Surgical Exposure-Orthodontic Traction-Orthodontic treatment would help achieve desired aesthetics and functioning occlusion. ABSTRACT Anophthalmia (The loss an eye) not only impairs patient's vision but also create a noticeable deformity on facial appearance and esthetics. The condition is a psychological distress for the patient interrupting his routine work. 'sarvendriyanam nayanam pradhanum’ states vision to be the supreme among all the senses. A prosthodontist as an integral member of the craniofacial rehabilitation team can help raise the spirits and ease the mind of the affected. Among various approaches, customized ocular prosthesis achieves better comfort and function between prosthesis and orbital tissues. This is a case report of a female patient of age 22 years had lost her eye as a child due to trauma and the above mentioned prosthesis was planned and fabricated to enhance appearance and boost her confidence. Getting eyesight back is not always possible, but maxillofacial prosthetics can help to reduce the pain of psychological embarrassment. Artistic skills are needed in providing a natural look to the prosthesis; this technique may help in a naturally appearing prosthesis with lesser artistic skills. Currently, dental implants are a very frequent therapeutic alternative for replacing missing teeth. However, they are not exempt from developing complications of infectious origin. Therefore, this case report describes a 67-year-old female patient presenting infectious complications caused by suture rupture. Surgery combined with therapeutic management with antibiotics was performed, allowing preservation of the osseointegration of the implants in the lower arch. Within the limitations of this study, it was shown that more research is needed to determine the success and survival of implants presenting complications due to infections during the osseointegration process.

Warts are the commonest benign, viral condition found in day to day practice and it is more common in young females. In Ayurveda warts may be compared with Charmakeel. As per Acharya Sushruta Agnikarma has been described as superior para-surgical procedures among all the measures used in Ayurveda, as the disease treated by it usually did not relapse. In present case report 33 years old female patient visited in Outpatient department (OPD) of Shalya Tantra having complaints of numerous growths in perineal and peri-anal region with itching and occasional pain since 6 months. The swelling was gradually increasing in size with local itching and discomfort. So the case was diagnosed as external genital warts and Chedana (excision) of the warts with cautery was planned. Orally two tablets (500mg each) Triphala Guggulu thrice in a day with luke warm water was advised for one month. Daily cleaning with Panchavalakal Kwath and dressing with Thumari Taila was performed till complete healing of the post-operative wound. Within 3 weeks wound was healed completely. Follow-up was done up to 10 months and patient had no any complaints or recurrence of warts. This case demonstrates that warts can be managed through Ayurveda without any complications, no recurrence and cost-effectively.

A patient with several missing teeth in the anterior region usually experiences severe hard and soft tissue loss, posing a greater challenge for the prosthodontist to treat. This is a case of a 50-year-old female patient who came to the RSGMP UNAIR department of prosthodontics needing to replace the old denture that felt loose and had a change of color to rehabilitate the loss of large residual ridges involving hard and soft tissue. The patient has lost the central and lateral right maxillary incisors with severe hard and soft tissue defect after cyst removal in the region. The patient considered to restore an anterior region with severe hard and tissue loss. Andrew’s Bridge successfully restores an anterior region with severe hard and soft tissue loss.
