As a crucial part of China’s healthcare reform, the Chinese Standardized Residency Training Program was released in mainland China in 2013. At the end of 2014, 55000 resident physicians had been trained in 8500 residency programs from 559 hospitals across the country. In 2016, the national government initiated the Chinese Subspecialty Fellowship Training Program (CSFTP) with the aim to establish an initial framework of the training by 2020. On June 12, 2017, the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, directly affiliated with the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China, officially announced the first group of hospitals for the pilot phase of CSFTP in three subspecialties, including neurosurgery, respiratory and critical care medicine, and cardiovascular disease. This paper highlights the current status and challenges of chinese residency and fellowship training system.

Abstract Endovascular therapy (EVT) has gained vogue in the management of patients with acute stroke. Newer stent-retriever devices have led to better recanalization rates. In many centers, EVT is slowly being used as an add on to or in some instances, even as an alternative to intravenous tissue plasminogen activator (IV tPA). The publication of the results of the SYNTHESIS expansion, Interventional Management of Stroke III and Mechanical Retrieval Recanalization of Stroke Clots Using Embolectomy trials in 2013 has questioned the enthusiastic use of EVT in acute stroke. They demonstrate that EVT (using a variety of devices) is no superior to IV tPA in the management of acute stroke. In the light of these controversial findings, we review the current status of EVT in the management of acute stroke.

The success of Indian manufacturing in meeting the global competition will depend on its readiness to move itself from a protected domestic to world-class global manufacturing status quickly and confidently. The present paper aims at exploring the current status of IT applications and management practices in manufacturing in India; examining the discrepancies with world-class practices; and identifying important issues which need to be addressed in order to facilitate strategic use of IT in manufacturing. The findings of the survey are somewhat alarming and they show that fragmented information management systems may not enable Indian manufacturing companies to deliver superior value to their customers and to lead them to world-class status. They must, therefore, direct their IT initiatives towards agile manufacturing rather than introducing IT to merely enhance their operations in a conventional manner.

An examination of some specialized lunar and planetary ephemerides has revealed inconsistencies in the adopted planetary masses, the presence of non-gravitational terms, and some outright numerical errors. They should be considered of temporary usefulness only, subject to subsequent amendment as required for the interpretation of observational data.

Solid state x-ray sensing systems have been used for many years in conjunction with scanning and transmission electron microscopes. Such systems conveniently provide users with elemental area maps and quantitative chemical analyses of samples. Improvements on these tools are currently sought in the following areas: sensitivity at longer and shorter x-ray wavelengths and minimization of noise-broadening of spectral lines. In this paper, we review basic limitations and recent advances in each of these areas. Throughout the review, we emphasize the systems nature of the problem. That is. limitations exist not only in the sensor elements but also in the preamplifier/amplifier chain and in the interfaces between these components.Solid state x-ray sensors usually function by way of incident photons creating electron-hole pairs in semiconductor material. This radiation-produced mobile charge is swept into external circuitry by electric fields in the semiconductor bulk.
