Abstract: The design of a fire alarm with Arduino-based system by means of GSM Module. The work purposely for house safety where the main point is to avoid the fire accidents occurred to the residents and the properties inside the house. In order to prevent losses accrued from fire accidents, various alarm systems have been developed such as smoke detectors, temperature sensor based systems etc. The design and implementation of a cost effective and reliable GSM based SMS Alert fire alarm system. The device will be able to monitor the temperature of the environment, the smoke level, send SMS alert to an inbuilt GSM number. When the system detects the temperature of 100C or more, it will immediately display an alert notification on LCD display and simultaneously sending an SMS alert to the users upon the high raise temperature in the house. This fire detection system consists of a smoke sensor, buzzer, LCD display and GSM module is interfaced with Arduino board. Keywords: Smoke sensor, GSM Module, Arduino, LED display, Buzzer

This research is about constructing a prototype of fire detection warning system on Apron Passenger Bus. The prototype can detect certain possibility of fire and give early warning to the driver. It works automatically based on three sensors used, which are smoke sensor, temperature sensor and flame sensor. The prototype is constructed using these three sensors and combined with Arduino microcontroller. This microcontroller has a role of transmitting information to the alarm system as a fire indicator. Method used in this research begins with simulation of a fire warning system and continued by implementation on hardware. The prototype works successfully on detecting fire both on software and hardware basis.

Fire is one of the most common serious disasters in human society. It is a kind of burning phenomenon that is out of control in time and space. When a fire occurs, how to detect the fire quickly and remove it in the budding state has become the key content of fire control work. Outdoor fire is very common in our daily life, and once it occurs without effective and timely control, it will cause huge losses. Therefore, it is particularly important to study an intelligent alarm system for outdoor fire. Generally, fire detection technology can be divided into sensor fire detection technology and image fire detection technology. Sensor fire detection technology is low cost and easy to design, but its application field is limited. Under the interference of many factors outside, misjudgement and missed judgement will occur. Image fire detection technology can achieve certain detection function through manual design of features and classifiers, but there are still defects in the application in the actual diversified environment. With the development of neural network technology in recent years, it has made great breakthroughs in the field of image recognition. Its judgment type is obtained through a large number of data training algorithms. Because of its automatic feature extraction and classification characteristics, it can effectively adapt to the external environment. Therefore, this paper proposes an end-to-end two-stream neural network model to detect fires, uses fire video on the network to train the algorithm, and then uses the fire database to test. Compared with the existing fire detection algorithms, it is found that the proposed method has good practicability and versatility, and provides a good reference for the development of fire detection technology.

This paper presents a new method to detect fire and alarm in confined space based on electronic nose. Common confined space includes some distribution cabinet, machine room, warehouse, air cargo compartment and spacecraft cabin, etc. Combined with the characteristics of the confined space, a fire detection and alarm system is schematically designed. This system is based on electronic nose and is an aspirated configuration. With this system, this method adopts PNN as the recognition algorithm, and introduces steady status and warning time to the monitoring host. The CO, O2, CO2and temperature are taken into account as the input of the PNN to get the probability of fire. Compared with the normal methods, this method can detect fire more quickly, reduce the false and missing alarm rate and realize real-time online alarming.

Forests play an important role in the terrestrial carbon cycle and deforestation is a key driver of climate change. The manual monitoring of the forest to prevent unauthorized activities is a practically difficult job. There is a need for high-resolution, global forest monitoring tool. The four major operations that are essential in monitoring the forest are developed in this work, namely tree cutting detection, fire detection, landslide detection, and smoke detection using a sound sensor, temperature sensor, vibration & moisture sensor, and smoke sensor respectively. An Arduino UNO microcontroller is used along with the Wi-Fi module to communicate to the forest department. The sensed data from sensors is collected and sent to the authorized department via the Wi-Fi module. IoT has widely used technology in forest monitoring applications. In addition, this paper uses the NodeMCU module through which employees of the forest department can be notified over mobile phones if any sensed data crosses the threshold value.
