There are different kinds of geometrical models and physical models used to simulate weft knitted fabrics nowadays, such as loop models based on Pierce, piecewise function, spline curve, mass-spring model, and finite element analyses (FEA). Weft knitting simulation technology, including modeling and yarn reality, has been widely adopted in fabric structure designing for the manufacturer. The technology has great potentials in both industries and dynamic virtual display. The present article is aimed to review the current development of 3-D simulation technique for weft knitted fabrics.

Semi-physical simulation of attitude control system is the more synthetically test and verify for designing of small satellite control system. It is an important means of small satellite development. However, the results of current semi-physical simulation system have a lot of non-intuitive. Compare with the actual environment, the simulation environment still has striking disparity. So the shortcomings affect precision of simulation. Based on the virtual display technology, the group semi-physical simulation system has been constructed for attitude control of small satellite due to the combination with xPC real-time environment, the simulation computer, high-precision single-axis air-bearing turntable, reaction wheel, air thrust device, fiber gyroscopes, sensors synchronizer, power subsystem and wireless devices virtual display computer etc. Semi-physical simulation achieved the visual simulation in orbit and tracked new information of virtual environment of space into real-time simulation computer. Simulation results show that the simulation system for real-time attitude and orbit position of small satellite semi-physical simulation has an excellent display effect. At the same time, Real-time transfuse of orbit information provides a more accurate space environment simulation. The simulation system of small satellite attitude control to design and evaluate the more direct and convenient.

Purpose The virtual display of 3D garment is one of the most important features in a computer-aided garment design system. The purpose of this paper is to present a novel web-based 3D virtual display framework for the online design of warp-knitted seamless garment using the latest WebGL and HTML5 technologies. Design/methodology/approach Based on the feature-based parametric 3D human body model, the 3D model of skin-tight warp-knitted seamless garment is established using the geometric modeling method. By applying plane parameterization technology, the 3D garment model is then projected into corresponding 2D prototype pattern and a texture-mapping relationship is obtained. Finally, an online 3D virtual display application framework for warp-knitted seamless garment is implemented on modern WebGL-enabled web browsers using the latest WebGL and HTML5 technologies, which allow garment designers to globally access without installing any additional software or plugin. Findings Based on the 2D/3D model of warp-knitted seamless garment, an online 3D virtual display application running on modern WebGL-enabled web browser is implemented using the latest Javascript, WebGL and HTML5 technologies, which is proven to be an effective way for building the web-based 3D garment CAD systems. Originality/value This paper provides a parametric design method for warp-knitted seamless garment 2D/3D model, and web-based online virtual display of 3D warp-knitted seamless garment is implemented for the first time, which establishes the foundation for the web-based online computer-aided warp-knitted seamless garment design system.

Augmented reality (AR) technology is one of the hot issues in the field of computer vision, There are many technologies for the development of online virtual display, Such as Flash, Java and Web3D technology. Web3D technology is an emerging network3D technology, in which VRML and Cult3D technologies are commonly used. This paper chooses a convenient interactive technologyCult3D, Cult3D Designer platform is given in a 3D virtual scene and product display of the implementation process, through a set of instructions to achieve user interactions with the product and the virtual museum roaming.

The research we are reporting here is part of our effort to develop a navigation system for the blind. Our long-term goal is to create a portable, self-contained system that will allow visually impaired individuals to travel through familiar and unfamiliar environments without the assistance of guides. The system, as it exists now, consists of the following functional components: (1) a module for determining the traveler's position and orientation in space, (2) a Geographic Information System comprising a detailed database of our test site and software for route planning and for obtaining information from the database, and (3) the user interface. The experiment reported here is concerned with one function of the navigation system: guiding the traveler along a predefined route. We evaluate guidance performance as a function of four different display modes: one involving spatialized sound from a virtual acoustic display, and three involving verbal commands issued by a synthetic speech display. The virtual display mode fared best in terms of both guidance performance and user preferences.
