For the purpose of improving the efficiency of garment design, the computer-aided garment design virtual reality (VR) model for surplus fabric removal and reuse without segmentation of cutting pieces is analyzed in this paper to provide the architecture of the computer-aided garment design CAD system. The form of dividing the garment into multiple types of nonsegmented pieces is adopted so that each nonsegmented piece stands for a complete design element unit. Based on this structure, the computer analysis of garment design based on CAD can be connected at a deeper level, which will not only improve the design efficiency of new garments but also reduce the design time at the client terminal and enhance the quality of the design. Through the experimental operation of prototypes, it is verified that the intelligent system proposed in this paper can implement the design of prototypes quickly and effectively.

<p>Within the traditional patriarchal ideology in China, feminism is gradually being accepted by the Chinese, especially Chinese women, and has brought benefits to women’s liberation today. However, inequality between men and women still exists. There is growing popularity among Chinese women artists to use their artistic status as their weapon to actively and effectively communicate the ideologies of feminism. However, their expression of feminism still mostly manifests through traditional artistic mediums. My research focuses on how wearable technology can depict and criticize gender inequality in Chinese marriage, and promote feminism. The garment design development is based on the results of a study I conducted about the perception of marriage equality in China, which revealed several areas of inequality in marriage. The final garment is designed for presentation, where movement and audience interaction are considered to enhance the opportunities of wearable technology to best communicate aspects of marriage inequality in China. My design research realises how ideologies of feminism, specifically marriage equality in China, might be advocated for through the design of contemporary garments and wearable technology.</p>

With the development of computer science, especially the application of 3D scanning technology in garment design, intelligent modeling is realized, which is impossible to achieve in traditional design methods. In this paper, we propose the 3D model construction of human garments based on the motion recovery structure method. The eigenmatrix is obtained from the camera parameters, and the transformation matrix is calculated by matching the image feature points with the help of scale-invariant feature conversion algorithm to realize the 3D reconstruction technology of human garments based on multiview image sequences. The effectiveness of this method is verified through experiments, and it has good robustness and accuracy. Through the form of style modeling, the design thinking and method can be extended to form a more reasonable garment structure and guide the innovation of garment production mode.

In recent years, the 3D design software has been mostly used to improve the garment design process by generating virtual 3D garment prototypes. Many researchers have been working on the development of 3D virtual garment prototypes using 3D body models and involving the 3D human body scanning in different postures. The focus of research in this field today relies on generating a kinematic 3D body model for the purposes of developing the individualized garments, the exploration of which is presented in this paper. The discussed area is also implemented in the Erasmus+ project OptimTex - Software tools for textile creatives, which is fully aligned with the new trends propelled by the digitization of the whole textile sector. The Slovenian module focuses on presenting the needs of digitization for the development of individualized garments by using different software tools: 3D Sense, PotPlayer, Meshroom, MeshLab, Blender and OptiTex. The module provides four examples: 3D human body scanning using 3D photogrammetry, 3D human body modelling and reconstruction, construction of a kinematic 3D body model and 3D virtual prototyping of individualized smart garments, and thus displays the entire process for the needs of 3D virtual prototyping of individualized garments. In the OptimTex project, the 3D software Blender was used to demonstrate and teach students how to construct the "armature" of the human body as an object for rigging or the virtual skeleton for a 3D kinematic body model, using the knee as an example.

Abstract Background: This study examined the physiological and perceived impact of wearing a novel lower body resistance garment during exercise and recovery.Methods: Using a randomised cross over design, 15 recreationally-active males performed 2x10-minute steady-state runs followed by a 10-minute passive recovery with concomitant monitoring of oxygen consumption (V̇O2), heart rate (HR) and rating of perceived exertion (RPE; exercise portion only), wearing either the resistance garment (experimental) or running shorts (control).Results: During exercise, V̇O2 and RPE were higher (4.5% and 7.7% respectively) in experimental than control (V̇O2: r=0.24, p>0.05; RPE: r=0.32, p>0.05) whilst HR was lower (-0.4%, r=-0.05, p>0.05). During recovery, V̇O2 and HR were lower (4.7% and 4.3% respectively) in experimental than control (V̇O2: r=‑0.32, p>0.05; HR: r=-0.27, p>0.05). Conclusions: Though effects were trivial to small, and not statistically significant, these findings provide proof of concept and suggest that this garment design may increase the training stimulus during running and aid post-exercise recovery.
