Based on the analysis and measurement of the overall situation, import and export structure and international competitiveness of the various sectors of service trade in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, with the help of MATLAB and Gray System Modeling software, the synergy degree model was established to quantitatively analyze the synergy level of service trade in the Greater Bay Area with the help of grey correlation analysis method and entropy weight method. The results show that the overall development trend of service trade in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area is good. The service trade industries in different regions are highly complementary and have a high degree of correlation. The potential for the coordinated development of internal service trade is excellent, and the overall situation of service trade in the Greater Bay Area is in a stage of transition from a moderate level of synergy to a high level of synergy. The Greater Bay Area can achieve industrial synergy by accelerating industrial integration and green transformation, establishing a coordinated development mechanism, sharing market platform, strengthening personnel security, and further enhancing the international competitiveness of service trade. The established model better reflects the current coordination of service trade in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and has good applicability. In the future, more economic, technological, geographic, and policy data and information can be comprehensively used to study the spatial pattern, evolution rules, and mechanisms of coordinated development in the broader area.

The construction of urban agglomerations and integration of regional economics have become the new trends in Chinese economic development. The economy of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area plays a significant role in driving regional development and stimulating technological innovation. In this paper, through study on the current situation of trade in service in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the reasons for the improper trade structure are concluded. Through data and case analysis, the factors affecting service trade structure are located. The results of case analysis can offer some useful and viable recommendations for the optimization of service trade structure, which can facilitate the industrial transformation and upgrading in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as well as give a fresh impetus to economic growth.

This study aims to analyze the development trend of the manufacturing industry of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (from 2008 to 2018) by constructing an evaluation system. On the basis of push–pull–mooring theory, we analyze these factors by using an entropy and cluster model. The results show the following: (1) Technological development had an obvious spatial distribution pattern of core regional radiation, while others did not. (2) Economic development was based on the city’s existing industrial development system, while environmental development depended on governmental policies. (3) Compared with the environmental factor, the development trends of the economic and technological factors were more similar. Lastly, we provide four strategies for the development of the manufacturing industry in different cities.

This study aims to analyze the development trend of the manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (2008–2018). On the basis of synergetics, the order parameter method of factor analysis is used to study these factors. The results show that: (1) There are five slow variable factors, such as intelligent manufacturing industry, technological innovation, scale agglomeration, market demand, and fixed asset investment, which are important power sources of the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry in Greater Bay Area. The development of these factors is relatively mature, and they cooperate with each other. (2) Similar to a fast variable of manufacturing development ecology, green development is an important coordinating factor in removing bottlenecks. Finally, suggestions for the development of the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry are put forward.

The paper adopted the entropy weight TOPSIS method and the gravity model to explore the characteristics of logistics spatial connection of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area that includes nine prefecture-level cities and two special administrative regions, and analyzed the driving factors of the formation of logistics spatial connection pattern by geographical detector model. The results shows that: There are obvious imbalance in the comprehensive capacity of logistics in different regions, and the cities around the Pearl River estuary are generally strong in the logistics quality, like Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The total amount of logistics links in different cities is significantly various. The logistics connection between cities are mainly weak, and the strong links are concentrated between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. In addition, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are the three core nodes of the regional logistics network in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Industrial structure, economic scale, population scale, consumption level, the development of post and telecommunications industry are the main factors for the formation of the logistics spatial connection pattern. Moreover, these factors have a prominent driving effect on the cities with large amount of logistics links.

This study analyzes the patterns of university co-authorship networks in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. It also examines the quality and subject distribution of co-authored articles within these networks. Social network analysis is used to outline the structure and evolution of the networks that have produced co-authored articles at universities in the Greater Bay Area from 2014 to 2018, at both regional and institutional levels. Field-weighted citation impact (FWCI) is used to analyze the quality and citation impact of co-authored articles in different subject fields. The findings of the study reveal that university co-authorship networks in the Greater Bay Area are still dispersed, and their disciplinary development is unbalanced. The study also finds that, while the research areas covered by high-quality co-authored articles fit the strategic needs of technological innovation and industrial distribution in the Greater Bay Area, high-quality research collaboration in the humanities and social sciences is insufficient.
