The IoT market has grown significantly in recent years, and it is estimated that it will continue to do so. For this reason, the need to identify new solutions to ensure security is vital for the future development in this field. Inadequate sources of entropy are one of the factors that negatively influence security. In this study, inspired by NIST’s latest entropy estimation recommendations, we proposed a methodology for analyzing and validating a sensor-based entropy source, highlighted by an innovative experiment design. Moreover, the proposed solution is analyzed in terms of resistance to multiple types of attacks. Following an analysis of the influence of sensor characteristics and settings on the entropy rate, we obtain a maximum entropy value of 0.63 per bit, and a throughput of 3.12 Kb/s, even when no motion is applied on the sensors. Our results show that a stable and resistant entropy source can be built based on the data obtained from the sensors. Our assessment of the proposed entropy source also achieves a higher complexity than previous studies, in terms of the variety of approached situations and the types of the performed experiments.

This is basically a conceptual paper. It discusses and proposes the need of establishment of the so-called Professional Amil Zakat. The remarkable development of zakat in Muslim countries so far has to be appreciated highly. However, several things must be done, since the achievement is still far below the potential power available.Among many factors that contribute to the development of zakat is that the existence and the role of Amil Zakat. Needless to say, Zakat development will be hopeless without them. However, there is not much attention has been paid to them. The paper argues that the development of Amil Zakat will in turn enhance the successfulness of zakat practices in the future. A way to do so is by establishing the official professional body of Amil Zakat, locally, nationally, or globally. The establishment of such body is believed that it will enhance the professionalism, which finally supports the practices of Zakat. The article examines the state of the Holocaust historiography in Ukraine for the period of 2010 – beginning of 2014. The review analyzes activities of major research and educational organizations in Ukraine which have significant part of projects devoted to the Holocaust; main publications and discussions on the Holocaust in Ukraine, including publications of Ukrainian authors in academic European and American journals. The article illustrates contemporary tendencies and conditions of the Holocaust Studies in Ukraine, defines major problems and shows perspectives of the future development of the Holocaust historiography in Ukraine.

This paper, first presented on 21 October 1995 at ajoint seminar ofthe Scottish Law Commission and the Faculty of Law, University of Edinburgh, on the subject of breach of contract, considers the future development of the law in this area, first by considering its history and current state in comparative terms and drawing the conclusion that it is characterised by a mixture of Civilian and Common Law elements; second, by comparing Scots law with the provisions on breach contained in recently published proposals for a harmonised law of contract (the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts, the Principles of European Contract Law prepared by the Lando Commission, and the draft “code”for the United Kingdom prepared on behalf of the English Law Commission by Harvey McGregor in the late 1960s) and in international conventions on the sale of goods. Although Scots law emerges reasonably wellfrom this exercise, there are a number of points to be taken on board in any future reform, as well as some insights into important underlying principles.

A practical and concise total synthesis of tricyclic ketone 7 (CDE ring), a valuable intermediate for the synthesis of racemic camptothecin and analogs, was described (8 chemical steps and 29% overall yield). The synthesis starts with two inexpensive, readily available materials and is operationally simple to perform. It is worth mentioning that the reported protecting group-free synthesis, with advantages of a short route, would be helpful for the future development of industry-scale syntheses of camptothecin-family alkaloids.

Why do we age? Why cooperate? Why do so many species engage in sex? Why do the tropics have so many species? When did humans start to affect world climate? This book provides an introduction to a range of fundamental questions that have taxed evolutionary biologists and ecologists for decades. Some of the phenomena discussed are, on first reflection, simply puzzling to understand from an evolutionary perspective, whilst others have direct implications for the future of the planet. All of the questions posed have at least a partial solution, all have seen exciting breakthroughs in recent years, yet many of the explanations continue to be hotly debated. Big Questions in Ecology and Evolution is a curiosity-driven book, written in an accessible way so as to appeal to a broad audience. It is very deliberately not a formal text book, but something designed to transmit the excitement and breadth of the field by discussing a number of major questions in ecology and evolution and how they have been answered. This is a book aimed at informing and inspiring anybody with an interest in ecology and evolution. It reveals to the reader the immense scope of the field, its fundamental importance, and the exciting breakthroughs that have been made in recent years.
