Metro systems are gradually becoming more and more crucial in promoting the economy and society in cities. However, various challenges such as financial resources and the efficiency of utilizing these metro plans bring difficulties for metro construction. Hence, accurately evaluating the urban metro system’s development condition seems significant for the sustainable development of the urban metro system. Therefore, a comprehensive evaluation indicator system of metro development conditions containing 25 indicators from dimensions of demand and supply is established in this study, and a coupling coordination degree model combined with the entropy weight method and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method is proposed to analyze the level of metro development conditions and coupling coordination conditions of 35 cities in China. According to the calculation results, 35 cities are divided into six categories, and radar charts are constructed to promote the sustainable development of the metro system.

Ecological environment evaluation is of great significance to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promote the harmonious development of economy, society, and environment. To evaluate environmental SDGs, single environmental indicators have been analyzed at national or large regional scale in some literature, while the urban integrated environment is ignored. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically and quantically evaluate the sustainability of ecological environment integrating the water, soil, and air environment at the urban scale. This study aims to construct the Integrated Perception Ecological Environment Indicator (IPEEI) based on the Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) framework to solve the above-mentioned problems. The IPEEI model was proposed based on the three-level association mechanism of the Domain-Theme-Element, and the DPSIR framework conforming to the relevant standards for indicator determination. Moreover, the multi-dimensional, multi-thematic, and multi-urban quantitative evaluations were conducted using the entropy weight method, and the comprehensive evaluation grades by the Jenks natural breaks classification method of the geospatial analysis. Nine cities in the Wuhan Metropolitan Area were selected as the experimental areas. The results were consistent with the Ecological Index and local government’s planning and measures, which demonstrated that IPEEI can be effectively verified and applied for the evaluation of urban ecological environment sustainability.

With rapid sponsorship and widely spreading of sustainable development theory, the research on the sustainable development indicator systems and its evaluation became increasingly an important issue for small watershed. Small watershed was thought to be the most basic operation unit for watershed sustainable development realization, building its sustainable development indicator system was regarded as the basic approach of realizing its sustainable development. Taking Puwa small watershed as study object, this paper quantitative analysis that the status of small watershed sustainable development by using AHP-PCA method. In this paper, taking AHP-PCA method as a powerful tool, by calculating comprehensive evaluation values of sustainable development as well as objective analysis of the level of sustainable development in different years the sustainable development situation of Puwa small watershed was evaluated. Corresponding strategies were put forward to supply relational decision-making departments with reference.

Abstract The relationship between socioeconomic and ecological environment become a significant factor influencing the sustainable development of resource-based cities (RBCs), the transformation of RBCs is a key component of regional high-quality development. A comprehensive evaluation indicator system was constructed to research the coupling coordination level of RBCs in this paper, the dynamic DM model and the CCD model were adopted to measure the comprehensive level of the coupling coordination degree between socioeconomic and ecological environment of the 9 resource-based cities in Sichuan province. The results showed that the coupling coordination level was not ideal. Only two cities were located to the moderate coordination, and other cities were located to the primary coordination or tiny coordination. In addition, there was a significant different between SE and EE, and the comprehensive evaluation score of SE was lower than that of EE in eight RBCs, which accounting for 88.89%. Based on this, the policy suggestions for the sustainable development of different type of RBCs were provided. This study offers a model of China’s experience that might be benefit for achieving sustainable development goals (SGDs) of other cities and countries.

As one of the most important grain protection policies in China, the minimum purchase price policy prevents the fluctuation of grain output and protects the interests of farmers by regulating the prices of major grain varieties. For developing countries with a shortage of agricultural resources, represented by China, an in-depth study on the implementation effect and public satisfaction of this policy is of great significance for promoting the sustainable development of the grain industry. Based on the interest demands of the government, farmers, grain enterprises and consumers, this paper constructs a policy satisfaction evaluation model based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation. The research shows that the implementation effect of this policy has promoted the sustainable development of China’s grain in four aspects: improving farmers’ enthusiasm for planting, optimizing the structure of supply and demand, reducing the adverse impact of disasters, and ensuring the steady increase of output. However, due to the differences in natural resources and folk customs, the implementation effect of this policy varies in different regions.

Although port-city interaction and sustainability are becoming increasingly essential, prospering regional economy and facilitating international shipping trade, problems of their mismatch and incoordination have also been aroused. Thus, research on their relationship is necessary to generate profound enlightenment on how to achieve healthy and benign development for ports and cities. In this paper, a typical Chinese port-city group, six ports and their corresponding port cities in Liaoning are selected as research objects. Firstly, a grey relative relational model and a coupling coordination degree model based on entropy weight method are applied to analyse the port-city interactive trend and degree as well as exploring the relative impacts among internal factors in port and city subsystems. Then, a sustainability analysis box of correlation–coordination is constructed to further investigate the sustainable development status. Finally, strategies for the port-city sustainable development are proposed. The results indicate the six port-city systems have not strongly correlated and are in the stage of coordinated development. Only Dalian and Yingkou have realized sustainable development. Thus, there is still much room for improvement. Measures such as resources integration and dislocation development should be taken into account to optimize the sustainable and coordinated development of the port-city systems.
