Abstract My aim in this paper is to investigate the variants of directionality implied in visual hieratic texts as religious markers in the sacrosphere, which are substantially expressed in the form of a wayside shrine/cross. The methodological underpinnings for this project rely on the proposed semiotactics (cf. Haładewicz-Grzelak, Małgorzata. 2012. Dynamic modeling of visual texts: A relational model. Semiotica 190(1/4). 211–251): the investigative perspective modeled after phonotactics – a branch of phonology investigating the restrictions on and the possibilities of phoneme combinations in languages (cf. Dziubalska-Kołaczyk, Katarzyna & Daria Zielińska. 2011. Universal phonotactic and morphonotactic preferences in second language acquisition. In Katarzyna Dziubalska-Kołaczyk, Magdalena Wrembel & Małgorzata Kul (eds.), Achievements and perspectives in SLA of speech: New sounds 2010, 53–64. Frankfurt am Main: Peter Lang). The study draws on digital documentation of wayside shrines, crosses, and sacrality markers on houses collected by the author in various European countries (2009–2021), focusing in particular on the material collected in the area of present Slovakia, Ukraine, Austria, Slovenia, and the region of the Beskid Mountains in Poland. It shows how bodily hexis is inscribed into the phenomenology of a wayside shrine through particular types of hierophanic dynamics. The study also focuses on the aspect of headedness and markedness in the nano-structure of a sign, surfacing as directionality in the conceptualization of the religious sphere by particular communities.

Camilla Pickles’ Pregnancy Law in South Africa. Between Reproductive Autonomy and Foetal Interests (Pregnancy Law) aims at providing a less adversarial angle related to the pregnant woman and the unborn within her, by moving away from the pregnant woman as a single entity (including the unborn within her) as well as from viewing the pregnant woman and the unborn within her as two separate entities of distinctive value and separate needs. This applies to four categories addressed by Pregnancy Law, namely foetal personhood, violence against pregnant women that terminates pregnancies, substance abuse during pregnancy, and termination of pregnancy for especially the South African context. Pregnancy Law positions its argument on a relational model that emphasises the context of pregnancy as signifying a connection between the pregnant woman (with rights) and the unborn (with interests) inside of her, the unborn being fully dependent on the pregnant woman’s body. This in turn is blended with what is referred to as a not-one/not-two approach. Bearing this in mind, Pregnancy Law claims to provide a compromise, middle ground and third approach regarding what is perceived to be the extremes of the single-entity and separate-entities approaches. Bearing this in mind, this article comprises a critical appraisal directed at Pregnancy Law’s claims as alluded to in the above with specific focus on the status of the unborn against the background of abortion (which in turn has implications for matters related to foetal personhood, violence against pregnant women that terminates pregnancies and substance abuse during pregnancy).

Theoretical approaches have tended to understand perinatal distress through either individual or socio-cultural factors. In contrast, Natasha Mauthner proposed a relational model that understands perinatal distress in the context of interpersonal relationships. This study aims to build on Mauthner's work to explore how women speak about their relationships in connection to their stories of perinatal distress and recovery. Eight women were interviewed for the study. All women had at least one child under the age of three and self-identified as having experienced distress in the perinatal period. Interviews were recorded, transcribed and analyzed using Voice Centred Relational Analysis. Four broad themes were identified: (i) the role of practical support, (ii) the role of emotional support, (iii) relational dynamics, and (iv) the role of socio-cultural norms. Whilst some women experienced practical and emotional support in their relationships, those who did not linked a lack of support to their feelings of distress. Relationships were also found to reinforce unhelpful social norms around motherhood and mental health, as well as offering a space to resist norms and create wider discourses about what it means to be a mother. This study suggests that organizations supporting women in the perinatal period should focus on women's relational needs and consider the cultural discourses of motherhood that they perpetuate.

PurposeThe investigation of organization's ambidextrous innovation is a challenge in the research studies of management sciences. As existent literature showed a positive relation between dynamic capability (DC) and innovation, few empirical studies are conducted to explain how DC impacts on the balanced and combined dimension of ambidexterity and still less on how social network moderates this relation. As a result, this paper aims to investigate and provide empirical evidence on DC’s influence on ambidexterity in the context of China.Design/methodology/approachBy a relational model of DC, ambidextrous innovation and social network, this study has conducted multiple regression analysis on the data collected from 350 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in mainland China.FindingsThe results show that, DC has positive influence on both the combined and balanced dimension of ambidexterity; and both the relational network and structural network play an inverted U moderating role, where the moderation of relational network is stronger than that of structural network.Originality/valueThis study provides empirical support on DC's influence on ambidexterity together with the moderation of social network.

Since the exhibition is an exhibition industry, it has got so much importance by many countries. In China, the development of the said industry is wonderful. Therefore, we use the grey relational model to study the impact of convention. Moreover, the exhibition industry on regional economic development is proposed, and the concept and characteristics of exhibition industry, exhibition economy, and the research results of exhibition industry at home and abroad are expounded in detail. Then, according to the influence mechanism of exhibition industry on regional economy, the grey relational model is used to analyze the economic development of Changsha from 2012 to 2016. The analysis disclosed that the exhibition industry remained the main driving force of Changsha’s economic development in these five years, which effectively promoted the economic development and the benign growth of various industries in Changsha.

The article presents model analysis of non-standardized names of caves and chasms of the Slovenské rudohorie mountains which follows the model analysis of anoikonyms by Jana Pleskalová, as well as the work devoted to modelling of Slovak hydronymy. The model analysis pointed out the dominance of the relational model C which expresses “properties, symptoms (and circumstances)” and the relational model A which is associated with the expression of “position, the location of underground object in the field”. The most common structural model in the given relational models is the two-member ADd+S, consisting of a derivative adjective and a noun such as Jelšavská jaskyňa, Gajdova štôlňa. Relational models (VM) referring to possessivity (VM D), especially to the immediate expression of the type of object (VM B), only have a marginal position in the proposed model analysis.

Background. The relevance of the article is due to the development of modern ontological methods of structuring information and the need to systematize data in many new specific subject areas. Such subject areas include the musical art of the "metal" variety, which is quite common today, but insufficiently studied within the terminology. The subject of the article are ontological models and tools for creating ontological knowledge bases. Objective. The purpose of the paper is to increase the correctness of the semantic search in the knowledge base of the musical supergenre "metal". The scientific problem is the need to improve the terminology in this subject area and build an ontological knowledge model that increases the accuracy of information retrieval for the target audience, compared to the existing relational model implemented on one of the known web resources.  Methods. Classification method, generalization method, software optimization methods, analytical method. The way to solve the problem: selection based on the comparative characteristics of the best web resource of the subject area and identifying the shortcomings of its model of knowledge representation, designing an ontological knowledge model and testing its effectiveness.  Results. The average SUM for all users is 83.85%, which is a good indicator for ontological knowledge bases. At the same time, a similar method of checking the database of the supergenre "metal" on the basis of the site "Encyclopedia Metallum", which used the classical relational model of database organization, showed much lower results. Thus, the average SUM for 10 users was 75.32%, respectively.  Conclusions. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is as follows: For the first time an ontological model (ontology) of the subject area was created: musical supergenre "metal", which showed much higher efficiency of semantic search than the best relational model of this subject area, implemented as a web resource. The developed structure can be used to create ontologies of related musical supergenres with similar terminology. Future research also plans to integrate this ontological knowledge model with applied web-based and desktop applications.

In modern conditions of a transformational economy, the processes of forming partnerships are especially relevant, based on the construction of the concept of digital strategic partnership, which opens up new competitive opportunities in the search for rational behavior of economic microsystems. The article identifies three main stages of globalization and the place of digitalization of all processes of social life. The studied features of the development of digital strategic partnerships made it possible to highlight the prerequisites for creating digital strategic partnerships and the main factors influencing their development: economic, political, social, technical and cultural factors. The controversy of scientific views on the definition of the essence of the concept of "stra-tegic partnership" is considered, two main approaches to the definition of the essence of the concept of "strategic partnership" are highlighted – according to the goals of creation and levels of economic relations. According to the goal of creating strategic partnerships, it identifies such classification features as: partnership as an agreement, partnership as a model of competition, partnership as a relational model, partnership as an international alliance of enterprises. According to the levels of economic de-velopment, strategic partnerships are distinguished at the macro level, at the meso level and at the micro level. The author pres-ents the definition of the term "Digital Strategic Partnership" as a set of parties (enterprises) to achieve a certain strategic goal, in particular to increase efficiency, which implies the creation of a common system of values and processes based on the use of resources. and partner competencies based on a single digital platform for business organizations. The basic concepts that reveal the essence of digital strategic partnership are revealed – cooperation, agreement, interaction, integration, partnership, strategy. In the new digital economy, digital strategic partnerships enable businesses to gain new competency benefits by gaining a single, open information network of access to partner resources, including markets, technology, capital, and human resources.Keywords: globalization, partnership, strategic partnership, digital strategic partnership. У статті визначено три основні етапи глобалізації і місце цифровізації всіх процесів суспільного життя. Сформовано передумови створення цифрових стратегічних партнерств і чинники впливу на їх розвиток. Розглянуто полеміку наукових поглядів щодо визначення сутності поняття «стратегічне партнерство», виділено підходи до визначення сутності поняття «стратегічне партнерство» за метою створення партнерства: як угода, як конкурентна модель, як реляційна модель, як міжнародний альянс підприємств і за рівнями економічного розвитку: на макрорівні, мезорівні і мікрорівні. We review the concepts of legitimacy,  trust, and legal cynicism in the context the debate about police legitimacy,  discuss the extent to which these  concepts relate to each other, and  offer some early, speculative thoughts  on a how relational model of  legitimacy can extend beyond  procedural justice concerns. Relying  upon procedural justice theory, we  emphasise the distinction between police legitimacy and legitimation:  popular legitimacy is defined as public  beliefs that legal authority has the  right to rule (people acknowledge the oral appropriateness of legal  authority) and the authority to govern (people recognise legal authority as  the rightful authority), whereas legitimation is related to the criteria people use to judge the normative appropriateness of legal agents’ exercise of power (e.g., the extent to which police officers are trustworthy to behave in accordance with people’s normative expectations). Building on studies on legal cynicism and legal socialisation, we consider how other aspects of police conduct can send negative relational messages about people’s value within society and undermine their judgements about the legitimacy of legal authority – messages of oppression,  marginalisation, and neglect over the life course. We conclude suggesting avenues for future research on public-police relations.
