We propose a design method of asymmetric double freeform surface lens for an integrated LED automobile headlamp and develop an integrated LED automobile optical system. A single asymmetric double freeform surface lens is designed to redistribute rays emitting from the light source for realizing both low and high beams. Moreover, a freeform surface reflector is used to improve the energy efficiency of high beams. The prism placed in the optical path can suppress chromatic dispersion on the edge of the target plane. Simulation and experimental results show that the illumination values and color temperature of the key points can fully meet the requirements of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe vehicle regulations (ECE) R112, 48, and 128. The volume of the whole optical system comprised of freeform surface elements is smaller than that of the low beam system of a traditional headlamp, resulting in saved space, in which other electronic devices can be installed for the safety of the driver, which indicates that the proposed method is practical in the field of automobile lighting.

We propose a reflective optics design for an LED motorbike high beam lamp. We set the measuring screen as an elliptical zone and divide it into many small lattices and divide the spatial angle of the LED source into many parts and make relationships between them. According to the conservation law of energy and the Snell’s law, the reflector is generated by freeform optics design method. Then the optical system is simulated by Monte Carlo method using ASAP software. Light pattern of simulation could meet the standard. The high beam headlamp is finally fabricated and assembled into a physical object. Experiment results can fully comply with United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) vehicle regulations R113 revision 2 (Class C).

The characteristics and limitations of the buses, which are widely used nowadays, are analyzed in this paper. Because these buses don’t adapt to the high-reliability embedded computer system, a novel bus is proposed which is characterized by its high-reliability. And its capacity is reached through its unique datum’s dynamic reconfiguration mechanism. The basic architecture and communication protocol are presented in this paper. And then the key points during realization of this bus are discussed. Finally, the probably application scope and prospects are indicated.

A new hand-held otoscope photographic system, convenient and suitable for clinical application, is introduced. This instrument allows clear otoscopic examination in stenotic or tortuous ear canals, and photographs the subject in one procedure. The instrument consists of a rodlens optical system, a fiberoptic light source, a camera, and exchangeable speculum and a strobe light. Color photographs of tympanic membranes and middle ear pathology are presented.

Abstract It has been proposed the design method of the two-degree-of-freedom (TDOF) controller which use the dynamical model of the feedback controller. In this study, we apply this design method to the sampled-data control system. The TDOF controller is obtained so that the output of the TDOF system follows the output of the model transfer function considering the intersample behaviors.

This paper analyzes the object-oriented modeling technology of IEC 61850 standard and the modeling steps of condition monitoring intelligent electronic devices (IED). Aiming at the problem of the existing configuration tools poor scalability for the IEC 61850 standard, a new design method of the IED configuration tool is brought up. Information model of transformer condition monitoring IED is established including logical device (LD), logical node (LN), data object (DO), data attribute (DA), dataset and report control block with the method mentioned above, and described with substation configuration description language.

Chromatic dispersion engineering of photonic waveguide is of great importance for Photonic Integrated Circuit in broad applications, including on-chip CD compensation, supercontinuum generation, Kerr-comb generation, micro resonator and mode-locked laser. Linear propagation behavior and nonlinear effects of the light wave can be manipulated by engineering CD, in order to manipulate the temporal shape and frequency spectrum. Therefore, agile shapes of dispersion profiles, including typically wideband flat dispersion, are highly desired among various applications. In this study, we demonstrate a novel method for agile dispersion engineering of integrated photonic waveguide. Based on a horizontal double-slot structure, we obtained agile dispersion shapes, including broadband low dispersion, constant dispersion and slope-maintained linear dispersion. The proposed inverse design method is objectively-motivated and automation-supported. Dispersion in the range of 0–1.5 ps/(nm·km) for 861-nm bandwidth has been achieved, which shows superior performance for broadband low dispersion. Numerical simulation of the Kerr frequency comb was carried out utilizing the obtained dispersion shapes and a comb spectrum for 1068-nm bandwidth with a 20-dB power variation was generated. Significant potential for integrated photonic design automation can be expected.
