In this article, we propose a novel concept of the single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft set by combining the single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy set and the soft set. For possible applications, five kinds of operations (e.g., subset, equal, union, intersection, and complement) on single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft sets are presented. Then, several theoretical operations of single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft sets are given. In addition, the first type for the fuzzy decision-making based on single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft set matrix is constructed. Finally, we present the second type by using the AND operation of the single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft set for fuzzy decision-making and clarify its applicability with a numerical example.

In this article, we propose a novel concept of the generalized picture fuzzy soft set by combining the picture fuzzy soft set and the fuzzy parameter set. For possible applications, we explain five kinds of operations (e.g., subset, equal, union, intersection, and complement) based on generalized picture fuzzy soft sets. Then, we establish several theoretical operations of generalized picture fuzzy soft sets. In addition, we present the new type by using the AND operation of the generalized picture fuzzy soft set for fuzzy decision-making and clarify its applicability with a numerical example. Finally, we give a comparison between the picture fuzzy soft set theory and the generalized picture fuzzy soft set theory. It is shown that our proposed (i.e., generalized picture fuzzy soft set theory) is viable and provide decision makers a more mathematical insight before making decisions on their options.

We introduce the concept of generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft set and its operations and study some of their properties. We give applications of this theory in solving a decision making problem. We also introduce a similarity measure of two generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft sets and discuss its application in a medical diagnosis problem: fuzzy set; soft set; fuzzy soft set; generalised fuzzy soft set; generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft set; interval-valued fuzzy set; interval-valued fuzzy soft set.

By combining the interval-valued hesitant fuzzy set and soft set models, the purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of interval-valued hesitant fuzzy soft sets. Further, some operations on the interval-valued hesitant fuzzy soft sets are investigated, such as complement, “AND,” “OR,” ring sum, and ring product operations. Then, by means of reduct interval-valued fuzzy soft sets and level hesitant fuzzy soft sets, we present an adjustable approach to interval-valued hesitant fuzzy soft sets based on decision making and some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the developed approach. Finally, the weighted interval-valued hesitant fuzzy soft set is also introduced and its application in decision making problem is shown.

As an extension of fuzzy sets, hesitant bipolar-valued fuzzy set is a new mathematical tool for dealing with fuzzy problems, but it still has the problem with the inadequacy of the parametric tools. In order to further improve the accuracy of decision making, a new mixed mathematical model, named hesitant bipolar-valued fuzzy soft set, is constructed by combining hesitant bipolar-valued fuzzy sets with soft sets. Firstly, some related theories of hesitant bipolar-valued fuzzy sets are discussed. Secondly, the concept of hesitant bipolar-valued fuzzy soft set is given, and the algorithms of complement, union, intersection, “AND,” and “OR” are defined. Based on the above algorithms, the corresponding results of operation are analyzed and the relevant properties are discussed. Finally, a multiattribute decision-making method of hesitant bipolar-valued fuzzy soft sets is proposed by using the idea of score function and level soft sets. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated by an example.

The aim of this article is to present the concept of restricted union and extended intersection of belief interval-valued soft sets, along with its properties. In addition, we propose the concept of possibility belief interval-valued soft set theory and investigate their properties. For suitability of possible applications, there are seven kinds of operations (e.g., union, intersection, restricted union, extended intersection, complement, soft max-AND, and soft min-OR) on the possibility belief interval-valued soft sets are defined and their basic theoretical are given. Then, we construct two algorithms by using soft max-AND and soft min-OR operations of possibility interval-valued soft sets for fuzzy decision-making problem. Lastly, we introduce an algorithm using a possibility interval-valued soft set to solve the decision-making problems and clarify its applicability by a numerical example.

The notion of soft set theory was initiated as a general mathematical tool for handling ambiguities. Decision making is viewed as a cognitive-based human activity for selecting the best alternative. In the present time, decision making techniques based on fuzzy soft sets have gained enormous attentions. On this development, this paper proposes a new algorithm for decision making in fuzzy soft set environment by hybridizing some existing techniques. The first novelty is the idea of absolute scores. The second concerns the concept of priority table in group decision making problems. The advantages of our approach herein are stronger power of objects discrimination and a well-determined inference.

The introduction of soft set theory by Molodstov has gained attention by many as it is useful in dealing with uncertain data. It is advantageous to use due to its parameterization form of data. This concept has been used in solving many decision making problems and has been generalized in various aspects in particular to fuzzy soft set (FSS) theory. In decision making using FSS, the objective is to select an object from a set of objects with respect to a set of choice parameter using fuzzy values. Although FSS theory has been extensively used in many applications, the importance of weight of parameters has not been highlighted and thus is not incorporated in the calculation. As it depends on one’s perception or opinion, the importance of the parameters may differ from one decision maker to another. Besides, existing methods in FSS only consider one or two decision makers to select the alternatives. In reality, group decision making normally involves more than two decision makers. In this paper we present a method for solving group decision making problems that involves more than two decision makers based on fuzzy soft set by taking into consideration the weight of parameters. The method of lambda – max which frequently utilize in fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) has been applied to determine the weight of parameters and an algorithm for solving decision making problems is presented. Finally we illustrate the effectiveness of our method with a numerical example.

Soft set theory is a newly emerging mathematical tool to deal with uncertain problems. In this paper, by introducing a generalization parameter, which itself is trapezoidal fuzzy, we define generalized trapezoidal fuzzy soft sets and then study some of their properties. Finally, applications of generalized trapezoidal fuzzy soft sets in a decision making problem and medical diagnosis problem are shown.

The research of incomplete fuzzy soft sets is of paramount importance in fuzzy soft sets, where the combination of incomplete fuzzy soft set and decision-making problem is of great significance. Incomplete information in fuzzy soft sets leads to more uncertainty and ambiguity in decision-making. The focus of this paper to propose an algorithm of fuzzy soft set based decision-making problems under incomplete information. On the basis of the weighted function, we introduce the notions of weighted incomplete soft sets and weighted incomplete fuzzy soft sets, and show an approach to weighted incomplete fuzzy soft sets for dealing with decision-making. Considering the missing weight function, the concept of incomplete weighted fuzzy soft sets is presented. Meanwhile, we apply the incomplete weighted fuzzy soft sets to solve the decision-making problem. As modal-style operators for fuzzy soft sets have a precise description of attributes possessed by objects, we apply modal-style operator for incomplete fuzzy soft set to deal with decision-making and propose a new algorithm to make it more accurate and simple.
