Objectives: This study analyses the implementation of an environmental management system based on the ISO 14001 standard, which can support corporate sustainability performance in the pulp and paper manufacturing industry in Indonesia. This study discusses the results of previous researchers related to the implementation of environmental management systems in supporting the achievement of corporate sustainability performance. Research Methodology: The research method used is a case study approach in five organizations from three pulp and paper manufacturing companies in Indonesia that have implemented environmental management systems. Collecting data through a questionnaire completed by representatives from organizations across the companies studied. Findings: Management commitment and implementation of internal audits that focus on environmental management and activities are the main factors contributing to the achievement of environmental performance. Meanwhile, the achievement of environmental performance is influence by employees' increased competence in the environmental field, programs to reduce energy consumption, and hazardous and toxic waste. Practical implications: The implementation of an environmental management system supported by an increase in environmental performance can improve the company's reputation, process efficiency and compliance with environmental regulations and requirements, that three things contribute to company performance, especially in the pulp and paper manufacturing industry. Novelty: This research contributes to the concept of a strong relationship between the implementation of environmental management systems and environmental performance in supporting the achievement of corporate sustainability performance, especially in the pulp and paper manufacturing industry in Indonesia.

Sustainability constitutes a broad discipline that focuses on the social, economic and environmental impact of human activities. Many policies and strategies have been developed for the pursuit of environmental sustainability and the guidance to a green society. Many enterprises have taken meaningful steps to improve their own environmental performance through corporate sustainability and environmental management. Environmental management contributes to significant improvements to environmental performance of the enterprises. This paper aims to evaluate the Renewable Energy Enterprises performance in the Internet in Thessaloniki Prefecture regarding the characteristics of sustainability using Multi-criteria Decision Analysis. TOPSIS method was used to provide a ranking of the Renewable Energy Enterprises according to their sustainability and finally conclude to a benchmark. According to the results of the research, the Renewable Energy Enterprises achieve a good level of sustainability but not the optimum. However, the entrepreneurs should adopt modern environmental policy, sustainable marketing, green network framework and certified environmental management system in order to consider their enterprise sustainable.

Nowadays one of the most common organizational eco-innovations in energy companies is introducing environmental management systems (EMS). Nevertheless, the issues of environmental and economic efficiency of EMS remain controversial. The purpose of this work is to develop a methodology for assessing the effectiveness of environmental management systems of Russian energy companies certified in accordance with ISO 14001. Since Russian companies do not have EMAS conformance certificates, the issues of the effectiveness of environmental management systems under the European Environmental Management Scheme and eco-audit were not considered in this study. The study is based on the data from annual corporate reports of the largest energy companies of the Russian Federation, which have the organizational and legal form of public joint-stock companies. The selection criteria were: i) the existence of an integrated management system, which is based on a certified environmental management system; ii) the presence in the corporate reports of data on the environmental performance of the company, at least a few years before and after the introduction of EMS, sufficient for statistical analysis using a two depended samples T-test. The study has shown that the application of ISO 14001 can be considered as a condition for the development of eco-innovation, as a well-designed environmental management strategy covers the whole range of issues related to innovative development, modernization and competitiveness. The introduction of EMS is also associated with an increase in the information transparency of the entire production system of the company, which is also a positive point in terms of the development of innovative processes.

The phenomenon of proactive environmental management began in the 1990's where manufacturing industries were aware  the importance of corporate sustainability through sustainable environmental management. Various strategies  can be done in a proactive environmental management. This study emphasized the development of conditions environmental performance companies  in minimizing waste, especially in production process that contains a lot of waste. The company has trying to implement a standardized EMS, through its own sludge wastewater treatment as a raw material for making bricks, while for solid waste (zinc dross and zinc ash), had been sold to external parties from the beginning. There isn’t recycling process, Galva furnace repair and improvement work on the system setting WWT or the WWTP. EMS implementation is strengthened through the acceptance of ISO 14000 in 2007. The condition of  Company's environmental performance related to waste minimization in the galvanizing process before and after implementing EMS was measured using input indicators (material), the input of water and energy use, and output of products in the form of waste (solid or sludge). The result did not correspond quantitatively with the indicators used in ISO 14000. Based on the quantitative result , a company processing  waste , did not change significantly.

Corporate sustainability management (CSM) appears to be an important issue for current management. The aim of the paper is to identify what determinants of sustainability management are examined in the literature and discuss the contribution of environmental management system (EMS) to CSM based on experiences of selected Czech organizations with implemented EMS according to ISO 14001. The data for the survey was gathered from 222 organizations (N = 1265) who have already implemented EMS. The results show there is a basic knowledge of sustainability concept in the surveyed Czech organizations. Perceived improvements of EMS implementation in Czech organizations are mainly in the area of environmental performance, economic performance, relationship with involved parties and social issues. Based on the implementation of EMS, the organizations take care about corporate sustainability (about the areas of environmental aspects and impacts of the organization). Improved environmental performance has been linked with process and product cost improvements and lower risk factors.
