Water distribution network (WDN) design of hydraulic model Gurthali, NARWANA-JIND, HARYANA and objective of this paper to detecting the leakage in it.In current research work to find out the Hl through normal valve and leak valve control setting with randomly value.To detect the Head Loss to usedDarcy Weisbach methodwhich calculate the major and minor loss with friction in pipes links. EPANET tool is used to create enlarge hydraulic model and simulate the data. All the pipes to be analysis unit head loss and nodes analysis head loss foe every houses. For leak detection, four normal valve include to compute head loss or pressure drop on nodes, pipes and leak detection valves. Also find out the pressure and head loss on the all nodes and pipes.MS Excel used for leak detection data, at the various head loss values in valves, nodes, pipes links. Plot the various graphs with head loss on valves which generated that HL reduces drastically

Acoustic survey methods have been used in recent years in Greece due to rapid growth of technology for leakage detection in water distribution networks. The application of the latest methodologies and technologies allowed water authorities to improve the efficiency of their water supply networks. Thessaloniki’s water distribution network is an aging and inefficient one so the use of these methods in the last fifteen years has considerably improved the utility’s capability to reduce the losses of drinking water. The use of acoustic loggers on network fittings that record leakage noise in fixed time steps has a considerable effect in Thessaloniki’s water distribution network, which is characterized by a high level of complexity. A major challenge facing Thessaloniki Water Supply and Sewerage CO S.A. (EYATH S.A.) is how to deal with high levels of water loss, and acoustic survey methods are now seen as having an increasingly wide range of benefits, not only including environmental and water conservation benefits of reducing leak flow rate but also improving its performance in water loss management. The paper presents the implementation of the acoustic survey method for leakage detection and reduction in various field areas of Thessaloniki and the interconnected municipalities. Key parameters have been taken included, such as the complexity of water distribution network, the reliability of available mapping, the established zones with respective flow metering, and the existence of high background noise. Results are analyzed in order to examine the efficiency of the acoustic logging technology.

Theories and policies for the maintenance and renewal of water supply systems are required. The occurrence of water distribution pipe breakage and water leakage is influenced by pipe material, size and age as well as soil characteristics and transportation. The water leakage has to be discovered as soon as possible from the viewpoint of minimizing water loss. However, it costs more to increase inspections for water leakage. In this study, the model to determine the optimal inspection interval for water leakage of the water distribution network was examined. The optimal inspection interval was estimated to minimize the total cost of inspection, pipe repair and lost water. The developed model was applied to a water distribution area whose water main is 486 kilometres long. The area was divided into sub-area of 250 metres square. Those sub-areas were classified into 6 groups according to pipe break rate. The optimal inspection interval was obtained for each group and its validity examined by numerical simulation.

The purpose of this paper is to model one of the urban network problems, the issue of water leakage. In order to manage water leakage, the specific area should be partially isolated from the rest of the network. As Geospatial Information System (GIS) is a powerful technology in spatial modeling, analysis and visualization of the water network management, a web GIS system for finding optimal valves to close in the event of an incident was developed. The system consists of a new GIS based algorithm for identifying the ideal valves to isolate the desired pipeline. The algorithm is able to identify optimum valves in a water distribution network in the shortest time by using the traceability in GIS web services. The system uses the functions of storing and managing the spatial data by expert users based on web 2.0 technology. The system was implemented and evaluated for Tehran’s district 5 water distribution network using Silverlight, C# and ArcGIS SDK (Software Development Kit). The evaluations demonstrated the accuracy of the algorithm and the operational viability of the system developed.
