Laevifaciesquadrialatagen. et sp. nov. is described from Hainan Province, China based on morphological data. COI data (DNA barcodes) is utilized to confirm the sexual dimorphism occurring in Laevifaciesquadrialatagen. et sp. nov.Melanozosterianitida Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1865, is reported from Guangxi Province, China. A key to the Chinese Polyzosteriinae is provided.

The Holarctic genus Agonochaetia is reviewed and a new species, Agonochaetia shawinigan Landry, sp. nov. is described from Québec, Canada. In addition, a new glandiductor-bearing genus and species, Canarischema fuerteventura Karsholt, gen. nov., sp. nov. is described from the Canary Islands. Comparative diagnoses, a key to species, illustrations of external aspect, male and female genitalia are provided for all species. Most species of Agonochaetia are rarely collected and known only from their types or from very few specimens. DNA barcodes are provided for four of the species from which DNA was recovered. Analysis of DNA barcodes suggests that Agonochaetia may be paraphyletic. Phylogenetic relationships to other Gnorimoschemini genera bearing a pair of glandiductors above the phallus are discussed.

Although new methods and data are conquering space in the field of taxonomy, such as integrative taxonomy, most terrestrial isopod species are still described based only on morphology. Species of the genus Atlantoscia Ferrara and Taiti, 1981 were the first and are the unique terrestrial isopods from the Neotropics for which a molecular phylogeny was already conducted. Previous results indicated that this genus could be paraphyletic, and a more detailed analysis would be required. Our aim was to reconstruct the phylogeny of Atlantoscia using mitochondrial and nuclear markers and test its monophyly by integrating molecular and morphological data. We observed that, indeed, Atlantoscia is paraphyletic. Atlantoscia ituberasensis Campos-Filho, Lisboa and Araujo, 2013 and Atlantoscia rubromarginata Araujo and Leistikow, 1999 were placed in a new genus of terrestrial isopods, Paratlantoscia gen. nov., together with a new species described in the present study, Paratlantoscia robusta sp. nov. The new genus is defined by the presence of specialized respiratory areas in the pleopod exopods and its validity is highly corroborated by molecular analyses and by biogeographic information. This study highlights the importance of multiple and complementary perspectives as a way to improve the quality of species hypothesis and associated descriptions.

A new monobasic genus of Nanophyidae, Indophyes, and a new species, I. yaromi, are described from southern India (type locality: Karnataka, Bilukoppa, 800 m, 40 km W Mudigere). The new genus is characterized by 5-segmented antennal funicle, strong sexual dimorphism of the rostrum, dentate femora, male tibiae unarmed, abdominal suture IV distinct in both sexes, male pygidium not foveate and 8th elytral interstria not crenulate.  The subulate form of rostrum—abruptly narrowed apically—is unusual among the Nanophyidae.

A new genus with a new species (Shoushida regilla gen. et sp. nov.) of pelecinid wasps is described and illustrated. The fossil has been collected from the Upper Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous of Yixian Formation at Huangbanjigou Village, Liaoning Province, China. The new species has vein Rs forking to two branches: Rs 1 straight and reaching wing margin much before apex and Rs 2 long, forming an “X” pattern together with 2r-rs. This finding represents the earliest fossil record of subfamily Pelecininae in the world up to date. Sexual dimorphism in Pelecinidae is briefly discussed.

A new species, Ceratophysella stachi, from Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, and Ukraine is described based on morphological data and DNA barcodes. It belongs to a small European group of species with type B chaetotaxy and strong tegumentary granulation with distinct fields of coarse granules: C. granulata Stach, 1949, C. lawrencei (Gisin, 1963), C. neomeridionalis (Nosek & Červek, 1970), C. scotica (Carpenter & Evans, 1899), and C. silvatica Rusek, 1964. It differs from all of them in the chaetotaxy of lateral parts of thoracic terga II–III (setae m6 present and one additional seta outside lateral sensillum m7 present or absent) that is exceptional within the whole C. armata-group. Notes on closely related species C. granulata are also given.

A new species, Pluviam guangxiensis is described from Guangxi Province, China. It is distinct from the known genera and species of Podoscirtinae. Details are provided. Thus, a new genus, with one new species, was established. Supplementary information relating to Xuanwua motuoensis He, 2015, which is very similar is provided.

A new genus, Motobdella, is recognized for Erpobdella montezuma Davies, Singhal, and Blinn, 1985. In addition, a new species for this genus, Motobdella sedonensis, is described. Morphological characters that include the presence of crop caeca, number and size of the eyes, arrangement of the eyes, arrangement of ovisacs, position of the gonopore, structure and size of the sensilla, coloration, and position of the anus distinguish this new genus from Erpobdella and Nephelopsis. DNA fingerprinting methods were used to examine the phylogenetic relationships of these genera and corroborated the morphological data supporting the evolution of this genus with two distinct species.

A new genus with a new species Eusarimissus hezhouensisgen. nov. et sp. nov. from Guangxi Province of China are described in the tribe Sarimini of the family Issidae. Molecular sequences of 18S, 28S and COXI genes are provided for the new taxon. Phylogenetic analysis places this taxon sister to a previously sequenced but not yet described Sarimini genus ‘Eusarima sp. 4’. Taxonomic notes are provided for the genus Eusarima Yang, 1994. The species Eusarima (Nepalius) iranica Gnezdilov & Mozaffarian, 2011 is transferred to the genus Sarima Melichar 1903.

The genus Catenularia (Chaetosphaeriaceae) was reviewed, and its relationships with morphologically similar fungi were evaluated using molecular and morphological data. Eleven species are accepted, four of which have been verified with molecular DNA data. The correct epithet ‘cupulifera’ is proposed for the type species C. cupuliferacomb. nov. Four other combinations are proposed, namely C. catenulatacomb. nov., C. elsikiicomb. nov., C. minorcomb. nov. and C. novae-zelandiaecomb. nov.Catenularia is an uncommon fungus inhabiting mainly decaying bark, wood and bamboo culms of various hosts and shows a widespread geographical distribution. It is circumscribed for fungi with mononematous, macronematous, simple conidiophores with terminal monophialides, usually accompanied with capitate hyphae. The conidia are aseptate, brown, cuneiform to rounded-obconic with an angular outline, adhering in chains. The diagnostic values of taxonomic characteristics of capitate hyphae and conidia (i.e. colour, shape in transverse section, setulae and formation) at the generic level were evaluated. An account of morphology, taxonomy and phylogeny of species accepted in Catenularia is provided. Based on ribosomal DNA sequences, Chalarodes obpyramidatasp. nov., characterised by catenate, angular, hyaline conidia with apical setulae, is revealed as closely related to Catenularia. The new genus Fuscocatenulagen. nov. is proposed for catenularia-like fungi having pigmented conidia with protracted maturation and round outline, with two species accepted, F. submersacomb. nov. and F. variegatacomb. nov. A new species Nawawia antennatasp. nov. is introduced and Nawawia is compared with morphologically similar taxa.
