<abstract><p>In this paper, global exponential outer synchronization of coupled nonlinear systems with general coupling matrices are investigated via pinning impulsive control. More realistic and more general partially coupled drive-response systems are established, where the completely communication channel matrix between coupled nodes may not be a permutation matrix. By using pinning impulsive strategy involving pinning ratio and our generalised lower average impulsive interval method, a number of novel and less restrictive synchronization criteria are proposed. In the end, a numerical example is constructed to indicate the effectiveness of our theoretical results.</p></abstract>

Abstract The state estimation issue for the discrete-time nonlinear systems with Markov delay is investigated in this paper, where the redundant communication channel is considered to ensure the reliability of transmission. Because the channel capacity is limited, the packet dropout conditions of the main channel and the redundant channel are described by the Bernoulli stochastic variables. In addition, a mode-dependent estimator is proposed based on the current state and the delayed state, simultaneously. Combining with the impulsive control strategy, the efficiency of estimator is improved. An augmented estimation error system is proposed to deal with the Markov delay in the nonlinear system, subsequently, a sufficient condition that ensures the asymptotic stability of the augmented error system is obtained by a constructed Lyapunov functional candidate and the gains of the impulsive estimator are derived. Finally, a numerical example of moving vehicle is utilized to illustrate the developed results.

This study investigates the bipartite synchronization of heterogeneous signed networks with distributed impulsive control. Leader-follower bipartite synchronization within a nonzero error bound is analyzed when the average impulsive interval is T a < ∞ or T a = ∞ . Some sufficient conditions to achieve the bipartite quasi-synchronization are presented, and the synchronization error level is estimated by the specific mathematical expression. The correctness of the theoretical results is verified by numerical examples.

In this study, based on the policy iteration (PI) in reinforcement learning (RL), an optimal adaptive control approach is established to solve robust control problems of nonlinear systems with internal and input uncertainties. First, the robust control is converted into solving an optimal control containing a nominal or auxiliary system with a predefined performance index. It is demonstrated that the optimal control law enables the considered system globally asymptotically stable for all admissible uncertainties. Second, based on the Bellman optimality principle, the online PI algorithms are proposed to calculate robust controllers for the matched and the mismatched uncertain systems. The approximate structure of the robust control law is obtained by approximating the optimal cost function with neural network in PI algorithms. Finally, in order to illustrate the availability of the proposed algorithm and theoretical results, some numerical examples are provided.

This paper studies impulsive control systems with finite and infinite delays. Several stability criteria are established by employing the largest and smallest eigenvalue of matrix. Our sufficient conditions are less restrictive than the ones in the earlier literature. Moreover, it is shown that by using impulsive control, the delay systems can be stabilized even if it contains no stable matrix. Finally, some numerical examples are discussed to illustrate the theoretical results.

In this paper, we study the dynamical behavior of a prey-dependent digestive model with a state-dependent impulsive effect. Using the Poincaré map and the Lambert W-function, we find the analytical expression of discrete mapping. Sufficient conditions are established for transcritical bifurcation and period-doubling bifurcation through an analytical method. Exact locations of these bifurcations are explored. Numerical simulations of an example are illustrated which agree well with our theoretical results.
