It is a development trend to build a network learning platform for the current university course teaching, but universities or colleges can’t share the learning information with each other effectively. Meanwhile, the whole screen synchronous display will consume wireless network mobile data. This network learning platform can combine the grid with the network synchronization technology to synchronize the information displayed on the multimedia equipment with the learners' computers. Besides, it can share the network instructional resources. A new teaching technology combining the course synchronous system with the network learning platform proposed in this article with the grid, the network teaching system and the synchronization technology of network learning platform as the theoretical basis is composed of 2 parts: the learning module (including the course learning function and the assignment uploading and correcting function) and the synchronous display module. We tested the practical effect of the new network learning platform and found that this platform could broaden the learning space of the architecture specialty, facilitate the sharing of learning resources, improve the learning quality effectively, and complement the implementation of traditional learning methods beneficially.

With continuous development of internet technology, the concept of ubiquitous learning and network learning space have received more and more attention from scholars, and gradually become the research focuses. College classroom has turned to network teaching from traditional teaching. In this study, literature review and case study were combined with ubiquitous learning and network learning space construction to systematically discuss classification and concept models of network learning space under the perspective of ubiquitous learning. Meanwhile, four models based on network learning space were proposed, and flipped classroom network teaching model was applied in the course of Exercise Physiology. The study showed that, the model has the good teaching effect in course teaching. It not just improves students’ interest, but also lays a foundation for popularizing the teaching mode.

Cloud computing is a brand new network concept after grid computing, which is the development trend of the next generation of internet. Cloud computing, as a network application mode of low costs and high performance, is gradually influencing people’s learning, work and life. Through the analysis of cloud computing and its key technology combined with the features of network learning, a network learning system model based on cloud computing is constructed, which could realize flexible expansion according to users’ requirements.

PurposeStudies on academic entrepreneurship (AE) agree on the significant impact that Universities can have on entrepreneurial development. AE deploys through fundamental activities, like the start-up of new companies and the connection of the University with Enterprises. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the role of digital learning platforms (DLP) to connect Universities and Enterprises effectively. Although the literature has extensively investigated DLP, there is a lack of understanding of the role of DLP in supporting digital AE. This paper focuses, in particular, on the functional requirements that have to distinguish the development of DLPs supporting education-based activities of knowledge transfer between academia and enterprise.Design/methodology/approachThe research is carried out, adopting a case study methodology. A single and holistic case regarding a DLP developed for the strategic and exclusive deployment of AE activities is proposed to describe and discuss the functional requirements of such Platform.FindingsThe DLP is a virtual learning space in which Enterprises and Universities can interact. The definition of design requirements is crucial for the efficacy of DLPs and needs to be carefully supported. Various criteria are proposed, respect to the various stakeholders engaged in DAE learning platform (Universities, Enterprises, students, employees), and according to the short- and long-term objectives of Universities and Entrepreneurship connection.Originality/valueThe paper explores an original case of DLP established in AE, to connect Universities and Enterprises. The research also sheds light on the under focussed typology of AE activities regarding education-based knowledge exchange. They are currently unaddressed by the literature on AE.

Electronic Learning (E-Learning) has been widely used as a complement to the traditional learning method. It includes the introduction of blended learning (BL) that fully utilises the use of Learning Management System (LMS). The aim of this study is to examine students’ acceptance of blended learning specifically with the use of Openlearning (OL) as an online learning platform to complement traditional teaching. 137 students had participated in this study. OL was introduced to the Health Sciences students, who enrolled in the Principles of Nutrition course. Students explored teaching materials, videos, activities, and several assessments in OL while facilitated by facilitators for 14 weeks. A self-administered questionnaire was given via online to the participants to evaluate their attitudes and acceptance towards OL. Descriptive statistic was used to describe the demographic data and t-test was performed to report the level of acceptance. Overall results showed students were very satisfied with blended learning using OpenLearning as a web-based tool. Students accepted OL as it is easy to use and convenient. They also agreed that the usage of OL in teaching and learning will improve their academic performance. In conclusion, it is proven that Health Sciences students accepted the use of OL in blended learning.
