Waste management is the method developed to eliminate the negative effects of waste to the environment and human health. The study focuses on the subject vehicle routing. The purpose of this study is to minimize the distance of route for the vehicles which pick up recyclable items collected in containers. For this purpose, a decision support system is proposed based on the internet of things. This is to ensure that the vehicles are routed to filled containers only thanks to the data obtained from sensors. In the chapter, a municipality's recyclable waste container location information was collected and resolved. As a result of the study, the route costs developed by IoT application and the costs incurred in conventional locating results were compared. Finally, the issues that can be improved in relation to the problem have been evaluated.

Big data is a challenging issue as its volume, shape, and size need to be modified in order to extract important information for a specific purpose. The amount of data is rising with the passage of time. This increase in volume can be a challenging issue to analyze the data for smooth industry and the Internet of things. Several tools, techniques, and mechanisms are available to support the handling and management process of such data. Decision support systems can be one of the important techniques which can support big data in order to make decisions on time. The proposed study presents a decision support system to deal with big data and scientific programming for the Industrial Internet of Things. The study has used the tool of SuperDecisions to plot the hierarchy of situations of big data and scientific programming and to select the best alternative among the available.

Research and development in the field of the Internet of Things, or more generally M2M systems security, is the subject of daily discussion in the ICT market. With the rapid development of intelligent devices, the necessity of valuable information protection has generated many new methods and technologies. Stegoimages, along with genetic algorithms (GA), are a relatively new object in the field of information hiding. The assumption that their application can significantly improve the noise-resistant properties of stegofiles is justified by the properties of the GA, but it is a subject for detailed study, since in such an application the GA has not yet been considered. The proposed method is based on genetic coding that hides messages between Internet of Things devices and is capable of detecting both internal and external attacks in the intellectual infrastructure. A sufficiently high efficiency of preliminary GA coding is shown for objects such as hiding graphic information in a graphic stegocontainer.

In the Internet of Things (IoT), not only computers like servers but also devices with sensor and actuator devices are interconnected. It is critical to make the IoT secure, especially devices. In the capability-based access control (CapBAC) model proposed to make IoT devices secure, an owner of each device issues a capability token, i.e. a set of access rights, to a subject. Only a subject holding the capability token is allowed to manipulate the device. However, a subject may get data in a device d1 via another device d2 although the subject holds no capability token to get data from the device d1. Here, the data in the device d1 illegally flow to the subject. In this article, the authors propose the operation interruption (OI) protocol where illegal get operations are interrupted. In the evaluation, the ratio of the number of get operations interrupted to the total number of get operations is kept constant even if the numbers of subjects and access rights granted to each subject increase in the OI protocol.

The Internet of Things (IOT) plays an important role in improving the equipment support capability. Using the Internet of Things, cloud computing and other new advanced information technologies, the equipment material support system is constructed. In this paper, the architecture, the network structure and building steps of the equipment material support internet of things system are designed to promote the development of equipment material support.

Many companies have observed the significant benefits they can get via using internet. Since then, large companies have been able to develop business transactions with customers at anytime, anywhere, and in relation to anything, so that we now need a more comprehensive concept than the internet. This concept is the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT will influence decision making style in various phases of selling, buying and marketing process. Therefore, every individual and company should know precisely what IoT is, and how and why they should incorporate it in their operations. This motivated us to propose a smart system based on IoT to help companies and marketers make a powerful marketing strategy via utilizing obtained data from IoT devices. Not only this, but the proposed system can also solve the problems which face companies and customers in online shopping. Since there are different types of the same product, and also different criteria for purchasing which can be different between individuals, customers will need a decision support system to recommend them with the best selection. This motivates us to also propose a neutrsophic technique to deal with unclear and conflicting information which exists usually in the purchasing process. Therefore, the smart system and neutrosophic technique is considered as a comprehensive system which links between customers, companies, marketers to achieve satisfaction for each of them.

Spine and neck pain is the most common type of pain experienced by people whose work requires sitting for long hours during the day. Therefore, many of them resort to dealing with this matter in several ways, and these methods differ in their effectiveness and negative effects. In this paper, we designed a device to alert the user to the need to adjust their sitting and to generate an alert when they are sitting inappropriately. When trying this device, the results were promising and accurate in terms of the results of the sequential reading of the movement of the flexible sensor, which helps the system to give alerts at the right time in the event of curvature of the spine, in addition to the ease of use of this device.

Abstract This chapter is a conceptual work by Mengyun Hu, Eleonora Pantano and Nikolaos Stylos addressing the subject of the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and how these have impacted on the reformulation of services provided and received. In this chapter, the authors suggest that the application of IoT has a significant impact on understanding the tourist experience, since it can reshape travelling experiences throughout the entire trip; they conclude with directions for both academics and practitioners in several tourism fields, such as destination management, hospitality, transportation and intermediaries.
