The rapid development of data generation sources such as digital sensors, networks, and smart devices along with their extensive use is leading to create huge database and coins the term Big Data. Cloud Computing enables computing resources such as hardware, storage space and computing tools to be provided as IT services in a pay-as-you-go fashion with high efficiency and effectiveness. Cloud-based technologies with advantages over traditional platforms are rapidly utilized as potential hosts for big data. However, privacy and security is one of major issue in cloud computing due to its availability with very limited user-side control. This chapter proposes security architecture to prevent and secure the data and application being deployed in cloud environment with big data technology. This chapter discuss the security issues for big data in cloud computing and proposes Meta Cloud Data Storage architecture to protect big data in cloud computing environment.

Cloud computing has created much enthusiasm in the IT world, institutions, business groups and different organizations and provided new techniques to cut down resource costs and increase its better utilization. It is a major challenge for cloud consumers and service providers equally. Establishing one's identity has become complicated in a vastly interconnected cloud computing network. The need of a consistent cloud security technique has increased in the wake of heightened concerns about security. The rapid development in cloud data storage, network computing services, accessing the cloud services from vendors has made cloud open to security threats. In this chapter, we have proposed an approach based on Ear Biometric for cloud security of individual consumers and vendors. This approaches started to get acceptance as a genuine method for determining an individual's identity. This chapter provides with the stepping stone for future researches to unveil how biometrics can change the cloud security scenario as we know it.

Cloud computing and cloud data storage have become important applications on the Internet. An important trend in cloud computing and cloud data storage is group collaboration since it is a great inducement for an entity to use a cloud service, especially for an international enterprise. In this paper we propose a cloud data storage scheme with some protocols to support group collaboration. A group of users can operate on a set of data collaboratively with dynamic data update supported. Every member of the group can access, update and verify the data independently. The verification can also be authorized to a third-party auditor for convenience.

In today's society, the rise of the Internet and rapid development make every day produce a huge amount of data. Therefore, the traditional data processing mode and data storage can not be fully analyzed and mined these data. More and more new information technologies (such as cloud computing, virtualization and big data, etc.) have emerged and been applied, the network has turned from informationization to intelligence, and campus construction has ushered in the stage of smart campus construction. The construction of intelligent campus refers to big data and cloud computing technology, which improves the informatization service quality of colleges and universities by integrating, storing and mining huge data.

The rapid growth of digitization in the present era leads to an exponential increase of information which demands the need of a Big Data paradigm. Big Data denotes complex, unstructured, massive, heterogeneous type data. The Big Data is essential to the success in many applications; however, it has a major setback regarding security and privacy issues. These issues arise because the Big Data is scattered over a distributed system by various users. The security of Big Data relates to all the solutions and measures to prevent the data from threats and malicious activities. Privacy prevails when it comes to processing personal data, while security means protecting information assets from unauthorized access. The existence of cloud computing and cloud data storage have been predecessor and conciliator of emergence of Big Data computing. This article highlights open issues related to traditional techniques of Big Data privacy and security. Moreover, it also illustrates a comprehensive overview of possible security techniques and future directions addressing Big Data privacy and security issues.

The novel advances in the field of Information Technology presented the people pleasure, luxuries and ease. One of the latest expansions in the Information Technology (IT) industry is Cloud Computing, a technology that uses the internet for storage and access of data. It is also known as on-demand computing. The end user can access personal data and applications anywhere any time with a device having internet. Cloud Computing has gained an enormous attention but it results in the issues of data security and privacy as the data is scattered on different machines in different places across the globe which is a serious threat to the technology. It has many advantages like flexibility, efficiency and scalability but many of the companies are hesitant to invest in it due to privacy concerns. In this chapter, the objective is to review the privacy and security issues in cloud storage of Big Data and to enhance the security in cloud environment so that end users can enjoy a trustworthy and reliable data storage and access.
