Most of the people in India depend on the agriculture for their survival. Intelligent water grid control (IWGC) system is a trusted solution for resolving recent significant global water problems. The system will handle the dried geographical area in a smart way with internet of things and edge computing. Since the villages that are far from the rivers are not getting enough water, the smaller water saving areas like pool, lake, ponds can be filled with this smart water management system. In this chapter, the authors discussed the water problems faced by the farmers, dam authority, and by the government.

In all the smart applications, evolution of the Internet of Things (IOT) is utilized as a complete matured technology and in the future internet generations, established itself. Blockchain is also the blooming technique like Internet of things in which the distributed ledger which enhances the security contained in the each node of the block-chain. In the block-chain network, any fault transaction is not done by the illegal users. The block-chain is combined with the Internet of Things for the improvement of real time application performance. IOT based smart water management system is designed in this paper for the agriculture which ensures the effectiveness of the agriculture water management. The remote monitoring with the IOT is used for this purpose. By linking with 2D modelling, the control and management of the agriculture water were performed. Finally, a system is implemented for the agriculture water management through the real time data collection. The obtained result shows the data that updates the water monitoring interface with the varying number of hours. The IoT technology and remote monitoring technology is utilized to the existing water management infrastructure. For water resources management and water supply, this is the very efficient technology.

It is essential for water providers and the urban water supply industries have to understand how water is used in residential settings. The project Artificial Intelligence Based Smart Water Management System discusses the innovative Information and Communications Technology (ICT) approaches to practice the tapped water-saving habit in house. At the domestic level, this is attained by the expansion of a decision provision method to provide good awareness among the family members about their daily water consumption in a significant way and do assessment and promote water consumption reduction. The proposed AI system will control and monitor the flow of water from overhead tank to various utility areas like Kitchen, Bathroom, and Dress Wash and also for Garden in House. The water distribution is controlled by Smart Water Distributor which distributes the water at different locations of the house based on its need. Using Deep Belief Network technique of AI, the threshold level of each location is compared with the current flow level of the sensor. These flow control sensors will update the flow periodically to the intelligent monitor system. The intelligent monitor system will analyze the sensor data with the current water limit of each distribution as well as the data from the water level sensor of the underground tank. Similarly, the high-rate pressure sensor will periodically update the pressure over the pipe. Based on the variation ratio of water availability Vs Demand ratio and reduction in pressure level, the Intelligent Monitoring system will alarm the house holders about the shortage and leakage of water. By the way the proposed system will regulate the usage of water and avoids the wastage of water through leakage. This will also help the society and the government bodies to resolve the problem of water demand.

The research paper proposes an effective solution to the critical problem of management of water resources. With the growing awareness of the need for water conservation, the world is gearing to accommodate and implement latest technology for the optimum utilisation of the drying up reservoirs. This paper aims at developing a cost effective, portable and ready to plug mechanism labelled as “Innovative Smart Water Management System Using Artificial Intelligence” which shall monitor the proportion of water usage per household and keep a tracking on metric usage on the water usage on a weekly, monthly or a yearly basis. The data generated will be established and collected in the Firebase server.  Based on the collected data, it shall also make predictions on the usage and hence allocate resources in a controlled fashion as per requirement. Later the data will be modelled in Time Series fashion to generate real time prediction of water consumption for the household respectively. The water consumer can track the usage by a custom-made android application on MIT App Inventor. Extensive, detailed instructions have been provided on the initial setup procedure and installation. The water monitoring module is used on a daily basis and a tab is kept on the amount of water spilled. This will keep a check on the casual approach of people towards water. It will also encourage a more systematic method to handle water resources and hence would result in better conservation efforts
