Internet of things (IoT) is increasingly present in our lives. As a consequence of connecting devices, IoT can make people's lives more convenient and comfortable. However, despite unquestionable benefits offered by IoT, there is still a great deal of concern from users and companies about the security and privacy of their data. In this sense, this study conducts a qualitative study based on three case studies of companies in the IoT field, which aims to characterize how these IoT companies look at the security and privacy challenges posed by IoT. The findings allowed the authors to identify the main challenges faced by IoT companies during the past years, the main privacy risks exposed by IoT devices, and the countermeasures that companies and users can adopt to increase the security of IoT.

In the recent years, the Internet of Things (IoT) has been widely deployed in different daily life aspects such as home automation, electronic health, the electric grid, etc. Nevertheless, the IoT paradigm raises major security and privacy issues. To secure the IoT devices, many research works have been conducted to counter those issues and discover a better way to remove those risks, or at least reduce their effects on the user's privacy and security requirements. This article mainly focuses on a critical review of the recent authentication techniques for IoT devices. First, this research presents a taxonomy of the current cryptography-based authentication schemes for IoT. In addition, this is followed by a discussion of the limitations, advantages, objectives, and attacks supported of current cryptography-based authentication schemes. Finally, the authors make in-depth study on the most relevant authentication schemes for IoT in the context of users, devices, and architecture that are needed to secure IoT environments and that are needed for improving IoT security and items to be addressed in the future.

The Internet of Things (IoT) introduces an inventive and perceptive of a future Internet where users, computing systems, and everyday items owning sensing and actuating abilities cooperate with unique comfort and financial advantages. Many heterogeneous devices get connected and contribute to the IoT and are known as things.Internet of Things (IoT) enables these things to correspond, compute and make decisions on the network. In such a heterogeneous environment, every user of IoT will have a unique purpose to be served in the form of communication and computation. There is a threat that a malicious user can demolish the security and privacy of the network. Hence any application in the environment of IoT is prone to various attacks and threats. At this point, security becomes a high priority in IoT. To ensure security, care must be taken to guarantee confidentiality, authenticity, data integrity and non-repudiation. In this paperaddress various conventional techniques for providing security of IoT devices and present analysis of existing solutions for IoT. Firstly, as security will be a fundamental allowing thing of most IoT applications, mechanisms must also be designed to defend communications enabled by such technologies. Later, we identify some suitable security algorithms.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the important technologies that has taken the attention of researchers. It is the interconnection of things connected with each other and to also with humans, to achieve some goals. In future IoT is expected to be effortlessly integrated into our environment and human will be solely dependent on this technology for comfort and easy life style. Any security concern of the system will directly affect human life. So security and privacy of this technology is primarily important issue to resolve. In this paper, we discuss the threats and vulnerabilities to the security of IoT devices in different domains, different layers, its deployment architecture and provides possible Block chain solution to overcome these issues. The paper also analyzes how the Block chain technology can be used to provide security and privacy in IoT. : The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the important technologies that has taken the attention of researchers. Subject IoT ecosystem. Significance The market for the Internet of Things (IoT) or connected devices is expanding rapidly, with no manufacturer currently forecast to dominate the supply chain. This has fragmented the emerging IoT ecosystem, triggering questions about interoperability and cybersecurity of IoT devices. Impacts Firms in manufacturing, transportation and logistics and utilities are expected to see the highest IoT spending in coming years. The pace of IoT adoption is inextricably linked to that of related technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence and cloud computing. Data privacy and security will be the greatest constraint to IoT adoption.

The internet of things (IoT) is the new buzzword in technological corridors with most technology companies announcing a smart device of sorts that runs on internet of things (IoT). Cities around the world are getting “smarter” every day through the implementation of internet of things (IoT) devices. Cities around the world are implementing individual concepts on their way to becoming smart. The services are automated and integrated end to end using internet of things (IoT) devices. The chapter presents an array of internet of things (IoT) applications. Also, cyber physical systems are becoming more vulnerable since the internet of things (IoT) attacks are common and threatening the security and privacy of such systems. The main aim of this chapter is to bring more research in the application aspects of smart internet of things (IoT).

The internet of things (IoT) is ushering a new age of technology-driven automation of information systems into the manufacturing industry. One of the main concerns with IoT systems is the lack of privacy and security preserving schemes for controlling access and ensuring the safety of the data. Many security issues arise because of the centralized architecture of IoT-based information systems. Another concern is the lack of appropriate authentication and access control schemes to moderate the access to information generated by the IoT devices in the manufacturing industry. Hence, the question that arises is how to ensure the identity of the manufacturing machinery or the communication nodes. This chapter presents the advantages of blockchain technology to secure the operation of the modern manufacturing industry in a trustless environment with IoT applications. The chapter reviews the challenges and threats in IoT applications and how integration with blockchain can resolve some of the manufacturing enterprise information systems (EIS).

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a quite recent paradigm going a decade back to the past. With the development and deployment of wireless technologies this new advancement has taken the part in the consumers' lives and businesses. In other words, the IoT is a pretty convenient way to correlated devices with each other and make them communicate in such a network. This is feasible using the internet connection and differently saying, all IoT devices forming the IoT asset got their IP addresses. From this perspective, it's quite clear that this technology got a lot of advantages and the users may feel so thankful for being the part of an IoT community. On the other hand, the consumers would spend less time thinking about the possible security concerns being linked to this new improvement. In this paper, we intend to discuss how secure our IoT infrastructure is, what its strategic implications are and why cyber industry should invest more time and effort in order to better research and develop this concept. In addition, we would try to deal a bit more with the IoT crawlers as the tools for investigating the IoT network and being so handy for both - researchers and hacker's groups.

IoT or the Internet of things refers to all the physical devices connected to the internet. IoT consists of computing devices that are web-enabled and have the capability of sensing, collecting, and sending data. IoT provides the ability to remote control appliances and has many more applications. Since IoT is becoming a big part of society, it is necessary to ensure that these devices provide adequate security measures. This paper discusses various security issues in IoT systems like threats, vulnerabilities and some countermeasures which can be used to provide some security. Developing a secure device is now more important than ever, as with the increase in digitization, much of a user’s data is available on these devices. Securing data is a primary concern in any system, as internet-enabled devices are easier to hack. The idea of this paper is to spread awareness and improve the security of IoT devices.
