Fine Control and Selection of Travelling Waves in Inorganic Pattern Forming Reactions

Under normal reaction conditions [AlCl3 0.28-0.34M and NaOH 2.5M A.Volford et al.] spontaneous spiral and circular travelling precipitate waves were observed. We constructed a phase diagram for the reaction and identified a large controllable region at lower aluminium chloride levels. We show that it is possible to selectively initiate travelling circular waves and other self-organised structures within this controllable region. In previous work initiation was undertaken before adding the outer electrolyte resulting in disorganised waves. However, marking the gel one minute after adding outer electrolyte resulted in cardioid waves. Increasing the time interval to two minutes caused a transition to single circular waves. If the gel is marked sequentially nested circular waves (target waves) are formed. These reactions were used to calculate simple and additively weighted Voronoi tessellations. The fine control of self-organisation in precipitation reactions is of interest for the synthesis of novel and functional materials.

Sample allocation and selection technology is of great significance in the test plan design of prognostics validation. Considering the existing researches, the importance of prognostics samples of different moments is not considered in the degradation process of a single failure. Normally, prognostics samples are generated under the same time interval mechanism. However, a prognostics system may have low prognostics accuracy because of the small quantity of failure degradation and measurement randomness in the early stage of a failure degradation process. Historical degradation data onto equipment failure modes are collected, and the degradation process model based on the multi-stage Wiener process is established. Based on the multi-stage Wiener process model, we choose four parameters to describe different degradation stages in a degradation process. According to four parameters, the sample selection weight of each degradation stage is calculated and the weight of each degradation stage is used to select prognostics samples. Taking a bearing wear fault of a helicopter transmission device as an example, its degradation process is established and sample selection weights are calculated. According to the sample selection weight of each degradation process, we accomplish the prognostics sample selection of the bearing wear fault. The results show that the prognostics sample selection method proposed in this article has good applicability.

This is a qualitative single subject intervention assessment involving the treatment of a 58 year old man, diagnosed with para-vertebral abscess due to tubercular pott’s spine with Diabetes since 2008, administered with neuro anaesthesia for pain management, which could not succeed in providing complete relief and hence a parallel attempt was made to treat the same through an integrative mind-body approach to resolving pain. Basic challenges in this process were to conceptualize a personalized approach based on the constitution and personality of the seeker and selection of specific tools of yoga therapy to suit the individual’s requirement. Adoption of yoga therapy involving synergized techniques resulted in holistic cure in a significantly reduced time interval. However, more studies are required to be adopted in the same manner to strengthen the line of the efficacy of such therapies in similar cases.

The selection of the delivery scheme is one of the most complicated problems and the results of its solution condition the sustainable development of the whole market of transportation services. Freight forwarders should consider numerous random parameters characterizing demand and technological processes to choose the proper structure of the logistics chain. The paper aims to propose a method for choosing the logistics chain structure, based on the analysis of the total expenses as a function from the demand parameters characterizing stochastic variables of the consignment weight, the delivery distance, and the time interval between the requests in the flow of queries for cargo delivery. Four basic logistics chain structures, widely used on road transport, are described to demonstrate the selection process. The areas of the most efficient use of the logistics chain structures can be defined for the flow of requests for cargo deliveries. The paper shows such areas on the example of goods delivery by automobile transport. Determining the areas of the most efficient use of the specific logistics chain structures contributes to the effective choice of correct delivery variants by freight forwarders.

The reagent system formed from tris(dichloromethyl)amine (5) and aluminium chloride allows the formylation of aromatic compounds. The scope of the method is comparable with that of the Olah formylation and the Groß-Rieche procedure, since benzene and even chlorobenzene can be formylated. One formyl group is transferred from 5 to the aromatic nucleus. In order to find optimal reaction conditions, the molar amounts of aromatic compounds, 5 and aluminum chloride were varied as well as reaction temperatures and solvents. The activation of 5 with other Lewis acids is also described
