Enhanced Sentiment Classification Using Recurrent Neural Networks

Sentiment Analysis and classification becomes a key trend in the human world in analyzing the nature and quality of the product, people's emotion, inference about products, and movies. Sentiment Analysis is the process of classification as it classifies the inference or review into positive or negative. Since the data that are labeled are very expensive and difficult to gather, it is hard. Also, the sarcastic data and homonyms are difficult to be identified. Hence the assumption of reviews will be wrong. The solution to identify the sarcastic words and the words with different meanings happens with the help of Recurrent Neural Networks.

This paper addresses the problem of Quality of Experience (QoE) monitoring for web browsing. In particular, the inference of common Web QoE metrics such as Speed Index (SI) is investigated. Based on a large dataset collected with open web-measurement platforms on different device-types, a unique feature set is designed and used to estimate the RUMSI - an efficient approximation to SI, with machinelearning based regression and classification approaches. Results indicate that it is possible to estimate the RUMSI accurately, and that in particular, recurrent neural networks are highly suitable for the task, as they capture the network dynamics more precisely.

The traditional text sentiment analysis method is mainly based on machine learning. However, its dependence on emotion dictionary construction and artificial design and extraction features makes the generalization ability limited. In contrast, depth models have more powerful expressive power, and can learn complex mapping functions from data to affective semantics better. In this paper, a Convolution Neural Networks (CNNs) model combined with SVM text sentiment analysis is proposed. The experimental results show that the proposed method improves the accuracy of text sentiment classification effectively compared with traditional CNN, and confirms the effectiveness of sentiment analysis based on CNNs and SVM

Target-based sentiment analysis involves opinion target extraction and target sentiment classification. However, most of the existing works usually studied one of these two sub-tasks alone, which hinders their practical use. This paper aims to solve the complete task of target-based sentiment analysis in an end-to-end fashion, and presents a novel unified model which applies a unified tagging scheme. Our framework involves two stacked recurrent neural networks: The upper one predicts the unified tags to produce the final output results of the primary target-based sentiment analysis; The lower one performs an auxiliary target boundary prediction aiming at guiding the upper network to improve the performance of the primary task. To explore the inter-task dependency, we propose to explicitly model the constrained transitions from target boundaries to target sentiment polarities. We also propose to maintain the sentiment consistency within an opinion target via a gate mechanism which models the relation between the features for the current word and the previous word. We conduct extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets and our framework achieves consistently superior results.

The emergence of the World Wide Web facilitates the growth of user-generated texts in less-resourced languages. Sentiment analysis of these texts may serve as a key performance indicator of the quality of services delivered by companies and government institutions. The presence of user-generated texts is an opportunity for assisting managers and policy-makers. These texts are used to improve performance and increase the level of customers’ satisfaction. Because of this potential, sentiment analysis has been widely researched in the past few years. A plethora of approaches and tools have been developed—albeit predominantly for well-resourced languages such as English. Resources for less-resourced languages such as, in this paper, Amharic, are much less developed. As a result, it requires cost-effective approaches and massive amounts of annotated training data, calling for different approaches to be applied. This research investigates the performance of a combination of heterogeneous machine learning algorithms (base learners such as SVM, RF, and NB). These models in the framework are fused by a meta-learner (in this case, logistic regression) for Amharic sentiment classification. An annotated corpus is provided for evaluation of the classification framework. The proposed stacked approach applying SMOTE on TF-IDF characters (1,7) grams features has achieved an accuracy of 90%. The overall results of the meta-learner (i.e., stack ensemble) have revealed performance rise over the base learners with TF-IDF character n-grams.
