Tracing the Global Trend on the Study of Digital Literacy

Using the SCOPUS database, this paper aims to quantify global research output on digital literacy (DL) from 2011 to 2020. In addition, there were 7388 documents and 42504 citations. The average number of citations received per publication was 5.63. The result of the study `depicts that the growth of publication on digital literacy has an incremental trend, and year-wise citation is also found to increase from 64 to 13163 during the study period. Furthermore, the research found that Relative Growth Rate (RGR) and Doubling Time (DT) had a fluctuating pattern throughout the study. "Internet skills and the digital divide" were learned to be the leading article among the most important source titles used for the publication of DL studies, with 368 citations. However, the "Journal of Medical Internet Research" received the highest mean citation per document (24.26), and G. Merchant was identified as the most prolific author with a mean citation per document of 24.38.

A Quantitative study of research papers published in Synthetic Fibre research from 2008-2017 was undertaken to investigate the research output in this field. The study was done by applying various parameters for capturing the trend- growth pattern of the literature, relative growth Rate, doubling time, authorship pattern, prolific author and top ranking journals etc. The data was obtained from scopus database and the articles published from 2008 – 2017 were taken for this study. A total of 2594 articles were published in this field with a yearly average of 259.4 articles. Out of the 2594 articles, the majority of the articles 421 (16.23%) were published in the year 2017. The RGR in the year 2009 was found to be 2.05 and in the final year 2017 found to be 0.12. This shows that the RGR declining trend is linear. Among the authorship patterns, the major contribution of articles were from three authors 534 (20.59%). The Journal named “Advanced Materials Research” ranked first with 59 (2.28%) articles. The highly prolific author is Monteiro S.N who has contributed 41 articles (0.47 %).

ABSTRACT Objectives The global trend of research on hyperuricaemia (HUA) has not been well studied. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the trend of research on HUA and compare the findings in publications from different countries, institutions, journals, and authors, to predict the research hotspots. Methods Publications related to HUA were searched using the Science Citation Index-Expanded Web of Science. The data were analysed by using the bibliometric methodology. Additionally, a graphical mapping was generated by using the VOS viewer software to carry out a co-occurrence analysis and to investigate the trend of publications in this field. Results A total of 6313 articles were included. The number of publications was increasing globally yearly. USA was the leading country in global research in this field, with the largest number of publications and citations as well as the highest H-index (H-index reflects both the number of publications and the number of citations per publication). PLOS One published the largest number of publications related to HUA. JOHNSON RJ T has published the largest number of papers in this field. Published studies could be classified into six clusters: ‘Pathophysiology’, ‘HUA and metabolic syndrome’, ‘HUA and cardiovascular disease’, ‘HUA and gout’, ‘HUA and nephropathy’, and ‘Genome-wide research’. ‘Pathophysiology’, ‘HUA and cardiovascular disease’, ‘HUA and gout’, and ‘Genome-wide research’ were predicted as the next hot topics in HUA research. Conclusions USA was the leading country in global research in this field. It is expected that an increasing research output will continue to be observed in the near future. ‘Pathophysiology’, ‘HUA and cardiovascular disease’, ‘HUA and gout’, and ‘Genome-wide research’ may be the next hotspots and hence need more attention in the future.

The present study focuses on analysis of research output in the discipline of Library and Information Science at Panjab University, Chandigarh and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar till 31 December 2014. The curriculum vitae (CV) and publication details of faculty members of Department of Library and Information Science were obtained by personal visit to universities and bibliographic information on their papers were recorded. The study deals with 152 publications of Panjab University, Chandigarh and 111 publications of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, in the field of Library and Information Science. It examines the Library and Information Science output by different ways like document type, authorship pattern, and degree of collaboration. The study also examines the relative growth rate of publications and doubling time for publications.

This study endeavours to embrace a bibliometric analysis of the research publications of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) from 2008-2019. It is in this context that the present study aims to audit the exploration execution the research performance of PDPU based on the papers published in journals that have indexed in Scopus for as far back as eleven years. The total number of 931 publications has retrieved from the Scopus database. Amongst them, 64.44 % are research articles published in scholarly journals and 28.89 % in Conference proceedings. The paper also analyzed the publication trend of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University and found that from 2008 onwards there was a steady increase in the number of publications. The authors attempt to identify the current trends in research output by PDPU, which includes the most prolific authors, institutional collaborative works, research productivity in terms of publications, highest citations papers, most preferred publications, etc.… The research publications was found highest numbers of publications in the year 2019. Findings of this study also reveal that the “AIP Conference Proceedings” is the most preferred journal, and Mukhopadhyay, I, is the most prolific author and has made the highest number of publications.

Modern science is dominated by scientific productions from teams. A recent finding shows that teams of both large and small sizes are essential in research, prompting us to analyze the extent to which a country’s scientific work is carried out by big or small teams. Here, using over 26 million publications from Web of Science, we find that China’s research output is more dominated by big teams than the rest of the world, which is particularly the case in fields of natural science. Despite the global trend that more papers are written by big teams, China’s drop in small team output is much steeper. As teams in China shift from small to large size, the team diversity that is essential for innovative work does not increase as much as that in other countries. Using the national average as the baseline, we find that the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) supports fewer small teams than the National Science Foundation (NSF) of the United States does, implying that big teams are preferred by grant agencies in China. Our finding provides new insights into the concern of originality and innovation in China, which indicates a need to balance small and big teams.

The study analyses research output of Anna University (Tamil Nadu) using Scopus database during the period 1988 to 2017 (30 years). Further predominance was given for Type of Source, Chronological growth, Subject wise contribution, Document type preferred, Collaborated Country, Collaborated Institutions, Contributed Journal, Highly contributed author, Keywords Preferred and Language of the paper.A total of 23,883 records have been identified and the same has been analyzed using bibliometric study. There has been steady growth of publications and 50% of articles appeared during the last five years between 2013 and 2017. The publications were doubled once in seven years. The average publication per year works out to 795 papers and nearly 78% of contributions were from Engineering; Computer Science; Materials Science, Physics and Astronomy. Around 17 Countries collaborated and contributed to more than 101 papers. The top three journals which have more publications were, “International Journal of Applied Engineering Research”; “European Journal of Scientific Research” and “Journal of Crystal Growth”.

The study deals with scientometric study on the Growth of Literature on Aerodynamic Research. The required data was collected from SCOPUS database for the period 2006 – 2015. It can be seen that nearly 41628 bibliographic records of contribution in field of Aerodynamic cover the period of 10 years. The researcher applied the search strings “(KEY (Aerodynamics) AND PUBYEAR > 2005 AND PUBYEAR < 2016)” that has used for the data extraction from the database downloaded the records based on the above strings. A total of 41628 records were downloaded and analyzed by using the Excel software with application as per the objectives of the study. This research study explores the growth rate and relative growth level during the study period. The study aims to analyze the thrust areas of research concentration on Aerodynamic research. It is analytical in nature with the suitable statistical tools applications in strengthening the empirical validity. The study based on Scopus bibliographic database has been used and searched using the word „„Aerodynamic” for the period 2006-2016 and extracted 41628 records with full bibliographical details such as Title, Authors, Source, Year, Country, Subject, Language and so on.

The present study aims to analysis authorship pattern and collaboration coefficient of library professional’s competency publications research from 1999-2018. The data has been downloaded by Scopus database. A total number of published articles during the period of study was 433 in the particular database on the topic of ‘professional’s competency’. The study examine various scientometric parameter such as authorship pattern, year wise distribution of publication, determine the annual growth rate and compound annual growth rate of publication, relative growth rate and doubling time of publication and so many. After the analysis, it is found that the highest 11.78% of an article published in the year 2015. The highest growth rate in 2000 and the lowest in 1999. The United States published highest 174 article and secured first place in top five countries wish distribution of the publication. Majority of the article is published by single authors is 171 articles during the period of study.
