Mapping of Synthetic Fibre Literature: A Scientometric Analysis

A Quantitative study of research papers published in Synthetic Fibre research from 2008-2017 was undertaken to investigate the research output in this field. The study was done by applying various parameters for capturing the trend- growth pattern of the literature, relative growth Rate, doubling time, authorship pattern, prolific author and top ranking journals etc. The data was obtained from scopus database and the articles published from 2008 – 2017 were taken for this study. A total of 2594 articles were published in this field with a yearly average of 259.4 articles. Out of the 2594 articles, the majority of the articles 421 (16.23%) were published in the year 2017. The RGR in the year 2009 was found to be 2.05 and in the final year 2017 found to be 0.12. This shows that the RGR declining trend is linear. Among the authorship patterns, the major contribution of articles were from three authors 534 (20.59%). The Journal named “Advanced Materials Research” ranked first with 59 (2.28%) articles. The highly prolific author is Monteiro S.N who has contributed 41 articles (0.47 %).

This paper discusses or analyses trends in Liver Disease research during from 2012-2017, the data have been collected from web of science database. Aim of the study to analyze source wise research output, year wise publications, authorship pattern, and country wise research. The study finds that articles occupies first place among various forms of sources, during the study period in the year 2016 published highest research output, INDIA have published highest publication among the Liver Disease, majority research papers published themes of Liver Disease in medical field.

The present study focuses on analysis of research output in the discipline of Library and Information Science at Panjab University, Chandigarh and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar till 31 December 2014. The curriculum vitae (CV) and publication details of faculty members of Department of Library and Information Science were obtained by personal visit to universities and bibliographic information on their papers were recorded. The study deals with 152 publications of Panjab University, Chandigarh and 111 publications of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, in the field of Library and Information Science. It examines the Library and Information Science output by different ways like document type, authorship pattern, and degree of collaboration. The study also examines the relative growth rate of publications and doubling time for publications.

The paper analysis authorship patterns and collaborative research of oncology research in Indiaas reflected by the research papers listed in Web of Science database for a period of 11 years from 2005-2015. The increased trend towards multiple authorship is predominant as compare to single authorship in case ofoncology in India.In the study, the degree of collaboration was not a constant value, it reveals varies of 0.03 to 0.16 percent and the mean quality as 0.09. The analysis found that single author papers maintained a low profile among oncology research scientists and the multi authorship pattern is expanding slowly in Indian oncology research.

The present study aims to analysis authorship pattern and collaboration coefficient of library professional’s competency publications research from 1999-2018. The data has been downloaded by Scopus database. A total number of published articles during the period of study was 433 in the particular database on the topic of ‘professional’s competency’. The study examine various scientometric parameter such as authorship pattern, year wise distribution of publication, determine the annual growth rate and compound annual growth rate of publication, relative growth rate and doubling time of publication and so many. After the analysis, it is found that the highest 11.78% of an article published in the year 2015. The highest growth rate in 2000 and the lowest in 1999. The United States published highest 174 article and secured first place in top five countries wish distribution of the publication. Majority of the article is published by single authors is 171 articles during the period of study.

Using the SCOPUS database, this paper aims to quantify global research output on digital literacy (DL) from 2011 to 2020. In addition, there were 7388 documents and 42504 citations. The average number of citations received per publication was 5.63. The result of the study `depicts that the growth of publication on digital literacy has an incremental trend, and year-wise citation is also found to increase from 64 to 13163 during the study period. Furthermore, the research found that Relative Growth Rate (RGR) and Doubling Time (DT) had a fluctuating pattern throughout the study. "Internet skills and the digital divide" were learned to be the leading article among the most important source titles used for the publication of DL studies, with 368 citations. However, the "Journal of Medical Internet Research" received the highest mean citation per document (24.26), and G. Merchant was identified as the most prolific author with a mean citation per document of 24.38.

Oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF) is a precancerous state which affects the oral cavity. The etiology of OSMF is due to various factors like chilies consumption, deficiency of nutrition, areca nut chewing habits, genetic susceptibility, altered salivary constituents, and autoimmunity and collagen disorders.  The present study is undertaken to find out the publication trends on OSMF during 1967-2016. The study mainly focus on year and decade wise research output, national and international collaborations, top journals for publications, most prolific authors, authorship pattern, citations pattern and highly cited papers on OSMF. The results indicate that highest growth rate of publications occurred between the years 1997-2006. India’s research share, citation score and h index was highest among all countries. Central South University, China topped the scene among all institutes. The maximum publications were two authored publications. CP Chiang of National Taiwan University was found to be the most prolific author.

A scientometric evaluation of India’s scientific productions in the field of biological science during 1901-1947 has been performed. The growth rate, authorship pattern, collaboration trend, and prolific researchers (male and female) of biological science literature is investigated. From the result it is found that the mean relative growth rate and duplication time is 0.615 and 1.007 respectively for the period 1901-1945. The calculated results follow the spirit of the ‘Price Law’ i.e. the coefficient of determination of the exponential plot is greater than that of the linear plot. About 75 per cent papers are single-authored and the degree of collaboration is 0.249. The Collaborative author index (CAI) for single author shows decreasing trend while for two author and more than two author shows increasing trend. The data set derived from this study follows Lotka’s law of author productivity. The productivity of ten most productive researchers together contributed 15 per cent publication share. It is also found that the productivity of women researchers together contributed 0.62 per cent publication share in biological science research.

<p>The study presents the scientometric profile of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU), Amravati during 1996-2017. The required research output for the study has been pulled out from SCOPUS database on the basis of affiliation based search. The complete research output is 1130 with 11.67% average citations per paper. The highest H-index (17) was found in the year 2013. 20.08% documents were produced though international collaboration. SGBAU, Amravati has the largest collaboration with Brazil (69) and United States (21). Authorship pattern predicts collaborative trend. Research papers produced with three authors have got the maximum (4444) citations. Journals (839) and Conference papers (174) are the most popular source type preferred by the faculty of SGBAU for research expression. Mahendra Rai (209), S. K. Omnwar (143) and Anand S. Aswar (94) are the most prolific authors. It is noteworthy that Alka P. Yadav has got 3073 citations for her 17 papers. Most of the articles are published in the domain of Physics and Astronomy (356). With regard to institutional collaboration, the faculty members of the SGBAU have confined themselves to the Maharashtra state most of the time. This study aims to present a scientometric analysis of the journal titled vikalpa: the journal for decision makers” for the period from 2008 to 2017. The present study was conducted with an aim to provide a summary of research activity in the current journal and characterize its most important aspects. The analysis covers mainly the year wise distribution of articles, category wise classification of papers, authorship patterns of papers, the degree of collaboration, most prolific contributions of papers, institution-wise distribution of contributions and geographical distribution of papers of the journal. The analysis showed that 325 papers were published in the journal of vikalpa: the journal for decision makers” for the period from 2008 to 2017. The maximum number of publication was recorded in 2014 (39 articles, 12.00%) while the minimum was in the year 2017 (21 articles, 6.46%). The authorship pattern was studied to determine the percentage of single and multiple authorship. It is observed from the study that a single author 114(35.08%) paper occupied the 2nd rank. Two author paper 132(40.62%) occupied in 1st rank. Three author paper 41 (12.62 %) occupied in 3rd rank and more than three author paper 38(11.69%) occupied in 4th rank. The study exposes that during 2008-17 the highest proportion of papers were by single authors 114 followed by papers with two authors 211, and more than three authors 325. Among the ten years of the study period, the highest degree of collaboration occurred in the year of 2012. The growth rate is 0.72 in 2008 and which decreased up to 0.07 in 2017. The mean relative growth rate for the periods of 2008 to 2017 the relative growth rate of 0.223. This study period resulted that the mean doubling time for total output 4.088 years. It is observed from the study that the highest number of contributors is belonging to India with 270 articles out of 325 total articles published and its percentage is 83.08 %.

This paper presents a scientometric analysis of the scholastic research papers published on spacecraft. The main purpose is to provide an overview of the research productivity in India on the subject during the period of the study (2012-2016), exploring different subdivisions of the spacecraft research. Ever since India sent a spacecraft to Mars in 2014, India has earned its place in the top ranking space-faring nations which include the USA, Europe Russia, China and Japan. This study highlights a quantitative analysis on the authorship pattern and collaborative trends during the past five years in the newly emerged the growing field of spacecraft in Engineering. This study reveals almost a constant trend of inflow of papers with increasing trend of multi authored papers year by year. Highest share of Papers are being contributed by authors from India, written in English and the results of degree of collaboration C= 0.91 of collaborative author’s articles is published during the study period.
