Nowadays, informal learning is very much part of everyone's life, even when individuals are not aware that they engage in informal learning. Therefore it is vital that individuals and organisations become aware of the value of informal learning. Not only that, but individuals need to take control of their informal learning and make it known to others. This article illustrates how e-portfolios, as a store of learning activities and resulting products, can support reflection on the learning process by allowing learners to monitor their learning behaviour. Findings indicate that ease of use is crucial. User interface design should accommodate the needs of the learner to promote uptake of the tool. The e-portfolio has to be an integral part of the learner's working and learning processes, and assist the learner by tracking and presenting his learning activities for easy inclusion into the e-portfolio.

With the increased availability and use of information and communication tools in education, multimedia courseware design has gained the attention of instructors and multimedia developers in a bid to foster student learning. However, there is still scanty literature with regard to how user interface design of multimedia course environments fosters student learning process. The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions students at a Higher learning institution in Malaysia on how user interface design fosters their learning process in multimedia courseware. This study adopted a qualitative design with semi-structured interviews as the data collection tool. Two postgraduate students participated in the in-depth interviews after learning from a multimedia module on how to use Excel software. Thematic analysis was used to derive meaning from students’ experiences with the learning courseware. From the interviews, it was found that the nature and usability of the interface design of multimedia courseware influences learning motivation, interactivity and cognitive load. The participants however identified software and hardware issues as the key challenges in using the multimedia courseware. Suggestions on how to improve future multimedia courseware were also noted. This research contributes to the area of E-learning by highlighting the need to design multimedia courseware interfaces that enhance student learning motivation, manage cognitive load and foster interactivity. It is thus recommended that further studies be carried on larger samples, using other research approaches and designs to allow for generalisability of the research findings on user interface design and learning process in multimedia courseware environment.

INTISARISeiring perkembangan teknologi, aplikasi media pembelajaran mulai bermunculan. Kata kunci -- kamus bahasa isyarat, tematik, tunarungu ABSTRACTAs technology develops, applications of learning media begin to emerge. One application of learning media is the Sign Language Dictionary with alphabetical vocabulary arrangement. However, the needs of users especially deaf students are not always constant. User needs can change according to developments or regulations. At present, the thing that influences the need for sign language dictionary applications is the education curriculum, namely the 2013 curriculum. This is because the learning concepts of deaf students are grouped into certain themes according to their respective class levels. This change causes deaf students need the Sign Language Dictionary Application that supports learning process. Therefore, this study aims to produce a user interface design for mobile application Thematic Sign Language Application. The preparation of vocabulary grouped according to certain themes is expected to facilitate students learning sign language. As for this study using waterfall method so that each flow stage and process can run in a coherent and easy to check if an error occurs. Keywords -- sign language dictionary, thematic, deaf

This research aims to measure the ease of use of the website of the Central Statistics Agency of South Sumatra Province by conducting a usability test using the Webuse method. This study used a sample of 96 respondents using the Lameshow formula. The data collection method used is by distributing questionnaires both offline and online. The results of this study indicate that each variable has a good usability level. With the content, organization, and readability variables having a value of 0.76, the navigation and links variable having a value of 0.75, the user interface design variable having a value of 0.76, and the performance and effectiveness variable having a value of 0.77. So it can be concluded that the website of the Central Statistics Agency of South Sumatra has a good level of usability according to the results of the study, which obtained data from 96 different respondents as the sample
