One important aspect of ubiquitous environments is to provide users with the possibility to freely move about and continue to interact with the available applications through a variety of interactive devices such as cell phones, PDAs, desktop computers, intelligent watches, or digital television sets. Migratory applications are able to follow the user by sensing changes in the user’s context and adapting to available devices, ideally without interrupting the user experience. However, applications themselves must contain functions to monitor context information, coordinate a migration, handle application adaptation, and interact with the user during the migration process. To make life easier for developers and users of migratory applications, an integrated Migration Service Platform (MSP) is proposed, where all the common migration functions are centralised. The authors show how the platform is realised as middleware that contains a server for the central functions and lightweight client-side running on the end-user devices. The authors show how migratory applications can interact with the platform and thereby do not have to contain migration functions themselves. The authors describe the challenges following the centralisation of a migration platform that can support different types of applications, both games and business applications, implemented with either web-technologies or as component-based applications.

Background: In the new era of wireless communications new challenges emerge including the provision of various services over the digital television network. In particular, such services become more important when referring to the tele-medical applications through terrestrial Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB). Objective: One of the most significant aspects of video broadcasting is the quality and information content of data. Towards that end several algorithms have been proposed for image processing in order to achieve the most convenient data compression. Methods: Given that medical video and data are highly demanding in terms of resources it is imperative to find methods and algorithms that will facilitate medical data transmission with ordinary infrastructure such as DVB. Results: In the present work we have utilized a quantization algorithm for data compression and we have attempted to transform video signal in such a way that would transmit information and data with a minimum loss in quality and succeed a near maximum End-user approval. Conclusions: Such approaches are proven to be of great significance in emergency handling situations, which also include health care and emergency care applications.

Cloud computing is an emerging technique by which anyone can access the applications as utilities over the internet. Cloud computing is the technology which comprises of all the characteristics of the technologies like distributed computing, grid computing, and ubiquitous computing. Cloud computing allows everyone to create, to configure as well as to customize the business applications online. Cryptography is the technique which is use to convert the plain text into cipher text using various encryption techniques. The art and science used to introduce the secrecy in the information security in order to secure the messages is defined as cryptography. In this paper we are going to review few latest Cryptographic algorithms which are used to enhance the security of the data on the cloud servers. We are comparing Short Range Natural Number Modified RSA (SRNN), Elliptic Curve Cryptography Algorithm, Client Side Encryption Technique and Hybrid Encryption Technique to secure the data in cloud.

This chapter introduces the USE-ME.GOV project that supports and encourages the authorities with the access to new e-government services at any time and anywhere through the use of mobile communications and Semantic Web technologies. The USE-ME.GOV system addresses openness, interoperability, usability, and security scienti?c goals, and throughout the chapter the methodology and main outcomes are described.

The goals of the Application Layer of the Enterprise Information Infrastructure are: 1. To empower the organization (via enterprise computing-EC) in optimizing the use of resources, such as manpower, money, material, machines, management, and the marketplace in business, 2. To empower individuals (via end-user computing-EUC and enterprise computing (EC) - Figure 4-22) in gaining cognition about managed resources and processes in the business environment. The strategy of implementing these goals is based on the growing expansion of the applications’ integration across all business functions in the networked and Web-driven environment. The integration of business applications in an enterprise is the natural process that follows the pattern of reproduction processes in nature. The first stage in these processes is the growth by division of functional organs; and the next stage is the consolidation of these organs into a non-redundant wholeness. In such a way the evolution of nature takes place with feedback from the environment.

Unstructured data is outcome of various major business applications. Summarizing unstructured data is considered as a significant task in this era of smart digital evolution. Text summarization is basically done using the common approaches on the basis of certain predefined rules. Text summarization is a branch of text mining which helps in bringing together the main content of the text from the original text or document. This work was an attempt to understand the existing literature and make a critical review on the pros and cons of the methods used. A gap analysis is also included after inspecting various methods. A comparative study of intrinsic and extrinsic evaluation techniques is included. A methodology is proposed for text summarization using machine learning.
