To realize the maintenance management system in the near future, this paper presents a development of on-line computer maintenance system to manage and record the maintenance information in the database for the plastic injection machines by utilizing the computer networks via the wireless system. The on-line computer maintenance management system is friendly use and easy to check the equipment problems, the production wastes and the production efficiency via the mobile phones and also the computer networks. Whenever a malfunction happens, the alert message will be sent to the operator and the maintenance manager to respond it immediately. In addition, the developed energy management function by selecting the heater insulator and reducing the mold clamping pressure can help to calculate the energy consumption, the breakeven point and the payback period which have not been done in the computer maintenance management system. The developed program can automatically generate the next schedule of the preventive maintenance, which leads to the higher efficiency. The developed system is examined and implemented in the plastic injection machines, which have never been used the on-line computer maintenance management system. It has been proved that the proposed and developed system increases the overall equipment effectiveness about 6.42% and the mean time between failure of 37.17% while the mean time to repair decreases approximately 16.26%.

This paper presents an application method of a Maintenance Management Program through the implementation of predictive tools and the Total Productivity Maintenance (TPM) methodology as a contribution for the energy efficiency improvement in thermoelectric power plants. The results of the vibration analysis, lubricating oil condition and of the thermograph analysis are registered as diagnostic methods. The innovative advance in this paper was the application of four pillars from the TPM methodology at the control of the internal combustion engines efficiency at a thermoelectric power plant. This research has the objective to provide a more reliable maintenance process through the implementation of the measurement and control of the operating parameters of the plant resulting in a better management by reducing the stops due unforeseen problems. Some results of the methodology application were shown like: annual maintenance cost reduction due corrective maintenance, increase of the mean time between failure (MTBF) and reduction of the mean time to repair (MTTR) in all applied areas. These results reflected in a more reliable power generation without putting the facilities of the plant at risk with an annual cost reduction for the company.

The importance and the role of the maintenance process are based on keeping the equipment and systems in an operative state of readiness. On the other hand, the knowledge of legislative framework, as well as the learning the practical skills lead to the successful application of the maintenance programs within the organizations. Regarding these aspects, the present paper addresses the topic of maintenance onboard ships. The general legislative framework for management and execution of the maintenance process specific to the maritime domain is presented, as well as the methods implemented onboard ships. It is described how to perform the maintenance of the equipment for a special ship using a computer maintenace management softwere. The study takes into account the constructive features, the equipment and the missions of the ship.

SummaryDue to large inter-individual variations, the dose of vitamin K antagonist required to target the desired hypocoagulability is hardly predictible for a given patient, and the time needed to reach therapeutic equilibrium may be excessively long. This work reports on a simple method for predicting the daily maintenance dose of fluindione after the third intake. In a first step, 37 patients were delivered 20 mg of fluindione once a day, at 6 p.m. for 3 consecutive days. On the morning of the 4th day an INR was performed. During the following days the dose was adjusted to target an INR between 2 and 3. There was a good correlation (r = 0.83, p<0.001) between the INR performed on the morning of day 4 and the daily maintenance dose determined later by successive approximations. This allowed us to write a decisional algorithm to predict the effective maintenance dose of fluindione from the INR performed on day 4. The usefulness and the safety of this approach was tested in a second prospective study on 46 patients receiving fluindione according to the same initial scheme. The predicted dose was compared to the effective dose soon after having reached the equilibrium, then 30 and 90 days after. To within 5 mg (one quarter of a tablet), the predicted dose was the effective dose in 98%, 86% and 81% of the patients at the 3 times respectively. The mean time needed to reach the therapeutic equilibrium was reduced from 13 days in the first study to 6 days in the second study. No hemorrhagic complication occurred. Thus the strategy formerly developed to predict the daily maintenance dose of warfarin from the prothrombin time ratio or the thrombotest performed 3 days after starting the treatment may also be applied to fluindione and the INR measurement.
