The objectives of this study is to analyze a large amount of data that often appears to create a knowledge base that can be utilized by firm to enhance their decision support system. The authors used the association rules with rapid miner software, data mining approach, and predictive analysis that contains various data exploration scenarios. The study provides important evidence for adopting data mining methods in the industrial sector and their advantages and disadvantages. Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) has a type of computer maintenance activity. Currently, a numerous errors often occur due to the accuracy in computer maintenance which has a major impact on production results. Therefore, this study focuses on association rules using growth patterns that often appear on variables that have been determined into the algorithm (FP-growth) which results in knowledge with a 100% confidence value and a 97% support value. The value results of this study has support and trust are expected to become knowledge for top management in deciding evergreen IT-business routines.

The importance and the role of the maintenance process are based on keeping the equipment and systems in an operative state of readiness. On the other hand, the knowledge of legislative framework, as well as the learning the practical skills lead to the successful application of the maintenance programs within the organizations. Regarding these aspects, the present paper addresses the topic of maintenance onboard ships. The general legislative framework for management and execution of the maintenance process specific to the maritime domain is presented, as well as the methods implemented onboard ships. It is described how to perform the maintenance of the equipment for a special ship using a computer maintenace management softwere. The study takes into account the constructive features, the equipment and the missions of the ship.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the cause–effect relationship between vocational support and the levels of acquisition of practical skills via learning self-efficacy during a training intervention in computer maintenance technology among vocational electronic technology students. Design/methodology/approach Quasi-experimental research was employed. The participants were 84 undergraduates of vocational electronic technology education in Nigeria. The study applied the modified stages of the Dreyfus model of skills acquisition as the training model. The study proposed a four-simple mediation models based on the first four stages of the modified Dreyfus model of skills acquisition (namely, novice, advanced beginner, competent and proficient stages) via practical skills learning self-efficacy. Findings The result showed significant effects of perceived vocational support in practical skills training on the levels of acquisition of practical skills in computer maintenance technology. Learning self-efficacy mediated the relationship between perceived vocational support and three levels of practical skills acquisition (advanced beginner, competent and proficient). Research limitations/implications All possible mediation pathways were not covered in this study. However, the study x-rayed the tendency of pathways in training intervention in vocational education and allied fields of study. Practical implications This study has empirically provided evidence to support the Dreyfus model of skills acquisition, as a plausible practical skills training model. Hence, the study can serve as a model for other researchers for replication in other fields of study. Originality/value To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study that revealed potential pathways in work-related practical skills training interventions. The study has also validated the Dreyfus model as a potential skill acquisition model for practical skills training.

IT Helpdesk is a service unit that is responsible to help in overcoming the problems related to the usage of ICT facilities at Universitas AMIKOM Yogyakarta. IT Helpdesk provides some form of services that can be utilized by academic community at Universitas AMIKOM Yogyakarta in usage of ICT services. This unit services include installation, troubleshooting software, service and computer maintenance. This research discusses about how information system development for user, consumer and manajamen IT Helpdesk. IT Helpdesk of Universitas AMIKOM Yogyakarta currently has an information system that includes the management of user registration and financial data. However, there is no information systems that provides detailed information from the consumer, which can be utilized by consumers IT Helpdesk itself in tracking the services status. Additionally, the current system has not been able to support management requirements in monitoring and evaluating the performance of technicians. The results of the research is a system that can provide information with a fast and accurate to the consumer and management of IT Helpdesk.
