Error Modeling and Identification Technology for Circular Path of NC Machine Tools

An error mapping modeling and identification technology for the circular path test of NC machine tools is proposed. First, geometric error modeling of the NC machine tool was established and the theory of the laser measurement method was introduced. Then through further analyzing the influence of the geometric errors to circular path deviations, the error items were identified, such as the displacement errors, backlashes and squareness errors. Finally measurement and compensation experiment of circular path was conducted. The experimental results show that the geometric error modeling is feasible, and the measurement method can be set up easily and rapidly, even can be used to measure smaller radius circular path under a high feed rate condition. After compensation, the accuracy of the circular path of the machine tool is improved by 50.88%.

Error compensation can improve the accuracy of machine tools effectively. Among the error sources affecting the accuracy of CNC machine tool, geometric error is always set as a key performance criterion. This paper summarizes several methods of geometric error modeling and reviews the characteristics of different methods. Furthermore, available methods for measuring geometric errors have been reviewed also based on the advanced instruments. This work aims at enhancing the efficiency of error detection and give a perspective for the application of error compensation in the future.

In this paper, a series of numerical control machine tool truncated failure data collect.The data are assumed to be two parameter weibull distribution and related parameters is obtained and relevant inspection and test of hypothesis, it is concluded that the mathematical model of batch of nc machine tool failure interval time distribution.Relevant indicators to determine the reliability of nc machine tools, machine tool's observations, Machine tool observations, point estimation and interval estimation index value provide a theoretical basis for the research on reliability of machine tool.

Cause of machining error for NC Machine Tools is described, and principle of NC machinings error compensation on the basis of the existing in-line detection model of NC machine tools is analyzed in this paper. Regularity of error Modeling based on multi-body system is found,accordingly, we will find the corresponding characteristic matrix and transformation matrix if location features and sport features of the adjacent body are confirmed. Then, formula of error model is found, and we can get numerical solution and compensate error according to the identified error parameter. As a result, the machining accuracy of machine tools can be greatly improved.

MTConnect is a technical standard recently proposed to facilitate the organized retrieval of process information mainly from numerically controlled machine tools. In this paper, core components such as agent, client, adapter etc are overviewed. Considering the difference in manufacturing devices openness and capabilities, different application schemes of agent and adapter are designed according to MTConnect protocol. Agent is designed for data acquisition in different situations and different ways to use Adapters are mainly discussed. Finally, the client, a software function in the application is developed by using C#. And the application is applied to a NC machine tool. In terms of data request, collecting, transmission and detection from a working NC machine tool, the proposed architecture in this paper is verified successfully.

The paper presents the principle and algorithm of multi-point and time-sharing measurement method to detect the machine geometric accuracy.Its basic principle is based on laser tracker and the multilateral method,moreover,only one laser tracker is used in the measurement.Its cost is lower than multi-point and simultaneous measurement.Then the application of the method is introduced on a glass measuring instrument.The geometric error of the machine is separated in x and y direction.
