Based on the energy-saving principle of variable frequency and energy adjustment, problems on application of the optimization table method of voltage vector in AC frequency control of motor speed adjusting are mainly emphasized by analysis on precooling system of air separation in this paper. With the help of Matlab/Simulink simulation software, the simulation model of the control system of the AC induction motor is built, and a method of frequency and speed adjusting control of the motor based on dsPIC is put forward. Furthermore, this technology is applied in the precooling pump system of air separation, and a full digital SPWM variable frequency and speed adjusting system with low energy consumption, high efficiency and good dynamic is constructed.

Torsional vibration of a complex electro-mechanical system consisting of a VFD controller and AC induction motor is investigated in this thesis to study the dynamical behavior of a rather complex motor drive, used to power a DC generator and a set of heat-generation resistors for achieving various levels of nominal loads over a wide range of nominal frequencies/speeds. Two magnetic encoders are placed at two locations to record the arrival times of two arrays of teeth in connection with a data acquisition system. Through a Matlab-coded algorithm, the instantaneous angular speeds and their harmonic compositions up to 16th order of the mean motor speed can be accurately discerned. The model and the algorithms developed in this thesis can be used in a variety of machines and testing systems powered by induction motors and regulated by variable-frequency-drive controllers for design, condition monitoring and identification of sources of noise and disastrous vibration.

The Induction motors are found in industrial and domestic environments because of low cost of operation including, induction motors are widely used induction motor 1 phase and 3 phase. During operation of induction motors generally used at normal speed, but the specific purpose induction motors operated with variable speed. In order to obtain varying motor speed can be controlled using the inverter. The use of inverters here to give supplay voltage AC induction motor in which the magnitude of the frequency can be varied. Setting frequency of the inverter utilizing method pulse with modulation (PWM). The circuit used to build PWM, using Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) technology. Values obtained variable frequency ranging from 4 Hz to 50 Hz, and acquired motor speed ranging from 12 rpm up to 1390 rpm.

The wide adoption of this motor is due to its many advantages over other types of motors, such as high efficiency, high dynamic response, long operating life, relatively quiet operation, and higher speed ranges. This paper presents a simulation of digital sensor control of permanent magnet BLDC motor speed using the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. A closed loop speed control was developed, and different tests were conducted to evaluate the validity of the control algorithms. Results confirm the satisfactory operation of the proposed control algorithms.</span>

Natural gas is conventionally transported in its liquid form or Liquid Natural Gas (LNG). It is then transported using cryogenic insulated LNG tankers. At receiving terminals, LNG is regasified prior to distributing it through gas distribution system. Seawater has been used as the heat source, which leads to vast amount of cold energy discarded into the water. This work presents the use of LNG cold energy around Melaka Refining Company (MRC). The cold energy is utilized in power generation, propylene refrigeration cycle, and air separation plants. These systems are designed and simulated using a commercial process simulation software. Capital cost (CAPEX) function and revenues of each system are further developed as a function of LNG flowrates. These developed correlations are then used in an optimization problem to seek for the most profitable scenario. The results show that utilizing LNG for air separation unit yields the highest profit compared to power generation and refrigeration plants.
