Based on typical parts CNC machining technology solutions, using the inverted spindle, high-capacity storage automatic loading and unloading of the workpiece conveyor systems, temperature tracking control system, ladder-shaped bed base and other new technologies. A milling-turning flexible machining cell was researched and developed, which means once the piece was fixed, all the procedures, including turning, milling, drilling, reaming, tapping and other processes integrated processing, can be completed. As an advanced manufacturing mode, it was suitable for the efficient processing of short-sleeve-type parts, panel parts, etc.

Service-oriented manufacturing is an advanced manufacturing mode focused on integrating service with manufacturing. The remarkable importance is known to be strongly associated with the development of service-oriented economy in the period in which China transfers the traditional equipment manufacturing industry to the service-oriented manufacturing. We take a close insight into basic theories of service-oriented manufacturing, and then we analyze the characteristics, profiles, as well as the present situation of the equipment manufacturing. Finally, we propose some countermeasures for transferring the equipment manufacturing to the service-oriented manufacturing from the views of the aggregation mechanism, the network of innovative mechanism and manufacturing value-added chain.

Network manufacturing, with the development of network economy, is advanced manufacturing mode. It’s applied widely. The engine manufacturing process of advanced motor company is studied and analyzed in this paper. The network system of engine manufacturing process is designed, which is based on the platform of .NET and SQL Server database. The network manufacturing of engine is realized. It reduces production cost and improves company’s core competitiveness. Carrying out the system’s parted purview management, it’s safe and credible.

The unrelenting threat of poaching has led to increased development of new technologies to combat it. One such example is the use of thermal infrared cameras mounted on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or drones) to spot poachers at night and report them to park rangers before they are able to harm any animals. However, monitoring the live video stream from these conservation UAVs all night is an arduous task. Therefore, we discuss SPOT (Systematic Poacher deTector), a novel application that augments conservation drones with the ability to automatically detect poachers and animals in near real time. SPOT illustrates the feasibility of building upon state-of-the-art AI techniques, such as Faster RCNN, to address the challenges of automatically detecting animals and poachers in infrared images. This paper reports (i) the design of SPOT, (ii) efficient processing techniques to ensure usability in the field, (iii) evaluation of SPOT based on historical videos and a real-world test run by the end-users, Air Shepherd, in the field, and (iv) the use of AirSim for live demonstration of SPOT. The promising results from a field test have led to a plan for larger-scale deployment in a national park in southern Africa. While SPOT is developed for conservation drones, its design and novel techniques have wider application for automated detection from UAV videos.
