Owning to the unreasonable structural design of the rolling mill’s pressure screw, there is severe stress concentration on the top and the root of the screw thread, which make their abrasion seriously. Therefore the service life and accuracy of the pressure screw will decrease a lot. In the article, based on analysis of the structural parameters and material parameter of the pressure screw, we get the factors which will affect the contact stress between the screw thread. By the method, the contact stress between the screw thread is well-distributed, which will helpful for the designers

According to the behavior of shape memory alloys, a structure of removable shape memory alloy pipe joint was designed. The contact manner of two parts of this structure is cone-globe. Cone-globe sealing is the key point of this structure’s sealing. Therefore the finite element analysis software ANSYS was used to simulate and calculate the sealing. The result shows that the width of the sealing surface and the contact stress altered with the change of structural parameters, which affected the sealing most. According to the value of the sealing surface’s width and the contact stress, the structural parameters including cone angle can be definitely settled.

In order to reveal the Intermixture of Different Modals of Ultrasonic motor, a complete analysis about the modal types and excitation responses were analyzed by finite element analysis. The intermixture of different modals of the stator and its performance under shock excitation are found while doing modal analysis. Through the sensitivity analysis of modal frequency to structural parameters, the separation technique of stator modes is found, which can solve the intermixture problem and provide basis for accessing the structural design

The interest in actuators based on dielectric elastomer films as a promising technology in robotic and mechatronic applications is increasing. The overall actuator performances are influenced by the design of both the active film and the film supporting frame. This paper presents a single-acting actuator which is capable of supplying a constant force over a given range of motion. The actuator is obtained by coupling a rectangular film of silicone dielectric elastomer with a monolithic frame designed to suitably modify the force generated by the dielectric elastomer film. The frame is a fully compliant mechanism whose main structural parameters are calculated using a pseudo-rigid-body model and then verified by finite element analysis. Simulations show promising performance of the proposed actuator.

The design of seal device that can be used in carbide actor is a real problems.This paper presents a kind of oblique-cone-slid-ring (OCSR) assembly seal device that can self-compensate the seal wear in application. The max contact stress on the seal surface and other contact face is far bigger than the work stress of sealed medium in carbide actor. That means the design satisfies the user demand . Keywords: oblique-cone-sliding-ring (OCSR) assembly seal; self-compensation to seal wear; finite element analysis; contact stress;

Stress analysis of the bender components in the design of the begel fabricator machine was carried out using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) with three variations of the constituent material parameters, namely 6061 aluminum, mild steel, and cast iron with a modulus of elasticity of 68.9 GPa, 220 GPa, 120.5 GPa, respectively. The test is carried out by a loading parameter 2520 MPa and fixed constraint. The maximum von misses stress and displacement obtained for each material parameter components using aluminum, mild steel, and cast iron are 17.78 MPa; 0.00765, 17.49 MPa; 0.00229, 17.62 MPa; 0.00427 respectively.

The seal is the key part of the cone bit. To reduce the failure probability, a new seal was designed and studied. The sealing performance and structure optimization of the X-O composite seal was analyzed and compared by finite-element analysis. The stress and contact pressure were analyzed to establish the main structural parameters that affect sealing performance and the direction of the structural optimization. By optimizing these structural parameters, including the height, and the radial and axial arc radii, an optimized structure is obtained. The results show that (1) the X-O composite seal can meet the seal requirement, the excessive height of the X seal ring is the root cause of the uneven distribution of stress, pressure, and distortion. (2) A new seal structure is obtained, the distribution of pressure and stress is reasonable and even, and the values of stress and pressure are reduced to avoid distortion and reduce the wear. Finally, the field test results of the X-O composite seal of cone bit showed that the service life of the bit bearing increased by 16% on average and the drilling efficiency increased by 11% on average compared with the original cone bit with the O seal ring.
