Tidal energy is a kind of new energy which is both renewable and pollution-free so that the tidal power generation is increasingly popular in the world. This paper is with respect to the current situation and prospects of development to the tidal power generation at home and abroad, from which it is realized that countries around the world set out the exploitation and utilization of tidal power generation as early as last century by carrying out a great quantity of research and practice, and building numerous tidal power generation stations. As we all know, water turbine generating units are absolutely necessary for tidal power generation. So this paper also refers to the water turbine generating units used in some tidal power generation stations and briefly presents their characteristics as well.

Under the energy crisis, the development of new energy has become one of the top issues for countries in the world. In-stream tidal power is a young generation technology to exploit the tidal energy, whose potential has been attached great importance to by many countries. Turbine is the core components of the in-stream tidal power generation system. In this paper the relatively mature technology is summarized extensively. Recent years many countries have pay a lot of attentions to in-stream tidal power and set the future development goals. For both the development stage and installed capacity China have a larger gap with western foreign, but the research of the in-stream tidal power device in China already has made great progress, and the development of in-stream tidal power generation technologies has show great advantages in the protection of the environment, sustainable development of economic and social and mitigation of the energy crisis.

The global economic and social developments depend largely on fossil fuels nowadays. To cope with energy crisis and environment problems caused by consumption of fossil fuels, the renewable energy exploitation is an alternative path. As one kind of renewable ocean energy which can be applied into production, tidal energy is mainly utilized in electricity generation. China has abundant tidal energy resource, which mainly distribute in the southeast coastal areas where power supply is insufficient. China's tidal power generation started in 1958, and some experience and technologies have been accumulated from the long-time history of tidal power station construction and operation. At present, China’s tidal energy’s development and utilization are still in low level, and remain plagued by several challenges, such as high cost, and insufficiency of preferential policies and regulations. While, China's tidal power generation must be very promising in the foreseeable future, with a great deal of attention paid to the utilization of renewable energy and the perception of sustainable development.

The potential crisis of energy and the deterioration of ecological environment make the world's cumbersomedevelopment of renewable energy including new energy, including solar energy. Traditional energy in the coal, oil andnatural gas are evolved from ancient fossils, it is collectively referred to as fossil fuels. As the world's energy needscontinue to increase, fossil fuels will also be depleted, it is necessary to fi nd a new energy to replace the traditionalenergy. Solar energy is a clean renewable energy with mineral energy incomparable superiority. Modern society shouldbe a conservation-oriented society, and social life should also be a life-saving energy. At the same time, Premier WenJiabao also proposed on June 30, 2005 and stressed the need to speed up the construction of a conservation-orientedsociety. And solar energy as an inexhaustible new environmentally friendly energy has become the world's energyresearch work in the world an important issue. Is the world in the economic situation to take a simpler, economical, environmentally friendly and reliable building heating and heating energy-saving measures. This paper summarizes thecurrent global energy status, indicating the importance of solar power and prospects. Details of the various solar powergeneration methods and their advantages, and made a comparison of this power generation parameters. At the sametime pointed out that the diffi culties faced by solar power and solutions, as well as China's solar power of the favorableconditions and diffi culties. The future of China's solar energy made a prospect.

Due to the increasing demand of energy consumers for high-quality, energy-intensive sources of electricity generation with a high EROI index, the implementation of tidal power plant projects is becoming increasingly attractive. At the moment, there are more than 100 stations in the world where the technical realization of TPP projects is possible. Until recently, cheap and seemingly limitless fossil energy allowed most of society to ignore the importance of the contribution of alternative sources of energy generation such as PES, but now their demand is increasing. The implementation of TPP construction projects contributes to the sustainable development of coastal towns and makes a signifi cant contribution to the energy balance of the system. The energy potential of tidal energy is quite large and comparable to the energy potential of the rivers of the Globe. Compared to river energy, the energy of tides and wind waves is low-potential, and therefore in most cases more expensive. It is worth noting that the advantage of tidal energy is environmental cleanliness, reducing the likelihood of fl ooding of adjacent territories and the absence of changes in the coastal landscape.
