The application of agricultural products and byproducts in the manufacture of green building materials has drawn great attention because they are environment-friendly and energy-saving. This paper tried to review the research progress and development trend of soybean protein adhesive and cotton stalk-based panels from the aspects of production, development, characteristics, improvement methods and so on. The author also analyzed the current problems in research and pointed out the research orientation in the future.

Using the incopat intelligence platform, the development status of the current green building materials was analyzed from the perspectives of IPC technology composition, patent licensing, patent transfer, patent applications, and patent types. It is concluded that the global green building materials industry is unbalanced in development, and it is necessary to strengthen industrial exchanges and development between countries, to jointly promote and achieve a win-win situation; Despite the high number of patents in China, the patent translation rate of Chinese universities and research institutes is relatively low, and the government should establish a communication platform between industry, universities, and research institutes to gain an in-depth understanding of market demand, which would help to patent transfer.

The purpose of this study is to propose a method of environment assessment in the field of building materials within Korea Green Building Certification (G-SEED). The method of environment assessment in the field of building materials was examined using LEED of the United States and BREEAM of the United Kingdom, the representative environment-friendly building certification systems in other countries. Especially, each revision of BREEAM was investigated for assessment methods such as environment assessment guidelines and assessment programs. In addition, assessment process and items were analyzed in relation to BREEAM. As a result, for environment assessment in the field of building materials within G-SEED, the method of connecting essential elements such as building material assessment guidelines and database networks with G-SEED was proposed.
