This paper introduces a selective harmonic elimination (SHE) PWM method based on neutral-point potential balancing applied to a three-level Photovoltaic NPC Inverter. The method combines the SHE with neutral-point potential balancing, and introduces a method based on multi-objective ant colony algorithm to solve the SHE-PWM non-linear equations. SHE-PWM control method of multi-objective ant colony algorithm considering about neutral-point potential balancing, there is no need to solve the initial value of the equation when solving the SHEPWM equations. Experimental results demonstrate the validity of SHE-PWM method based on neutral-point potential balancing.

A selective harmonic elimination pulse width modulation (SHEPWM) control strategy is proposed to balance the neutral-point potential (NP) of a three-level active neutral-point-clamped (ANPC) converter. In this strategy, the chaotic ant colony algorithm (ACA) is adopted to solve the SHEPWM nonlinear equations, which does not require presetting the initial values of solutions and can get multiple solutions in the same modulation index. The influence of different solutions corresponding to the SHEPWM switching states on the NP is different, namely, some make the NP increase and others make the NP decrease. Therefore, the NP balancing can be effectively controlled by choosing appropriate solutions in different fundamental periods. The simulation and experimental results further verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the control strategy.

In this paper, modified multilevel inverter, via addition of an auxiliary bidirectional switch, based on Newton Raphson (NR) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) techniques is presented. The NR and PSO techniques were employed for selective harmonics elimination (SHE) solution in a modified Cascaded H Bridge Multilevel inverter (CHB-MLI). The Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse-Width Modulation (SHE-PWM) is a powerful technique for harmonic minimization in multilevel inverter. The NR and PSO techniques were used to determine the switching angles by solving the non-linear equations of the output voltage waveform of the modified CHB-MLI in order to control the fundamental component and eliminate some low order harmonics. The proposed NR and PSO techniques are capable to minimize the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the output voltage of the modified inverter within allowable limits. This paper aims to modeling and simulation by MATLAB of the modified topology of the CHB-MLI for a single-phase prototype for 13-levels. The inverter offers less THD and greater efficiency using PSO control algorithm compared with the NR algorithm.
The performance of the proposed controllers based on NR and PSO techniques is verified through simulation.

In the existing logistics distribution methods, the demand of customers is not considered. The goal of these methods is to maximize the vehicle capacity, which leads to the total distance of vehicles to be too long, the need for large numbers of vehicles and high transportation costs. To address these problems, a method of multi-objective clustering of logistics distribution route based on hybrid ant colony algorithm is proposed in this paper. Before choosing the distribution route, the customers are assigned to the unknown types according to a lot of customers attributes so as to reduce the scale of the solution. The discrete point location model is applied to logistics distribution area to reduce the cost of transportation. A mathematical model of multi-objective logistics distribution routing problem is built with consideration of constraints of the capacity, transportation distance, and time window, and a hybrid ant colony algorithm is used to solve the problem. Experimental results show that, the optimized route is more desirable, which can save the cost of transportation, reduce the time loss in the process of circulation, and effectively improve the quality of logistics distribution service.

Abstract To solve the problem of multi-objective performance optimization based on ant colony algorithm, a multi-objective performance optimization method of ORC cycle based on an improved ant colony algorithm is proposed. Through the analysis of the ORC cycle system, the thermodynamic model of the ORC system is constructed. Based on the first law of thermodynamics and the second law of thermodynamics, the ORC system evaluation model is established in a MATLAB environment. The sensitivity analysis of the system is carried out by using the system performance evaluation index, and the optimal working parameter combination is obtained. The ant colony algorithm is used to optimize the performance of the ORC system and obtain the optimal solution. Experimental results show that the proposed multi-objective performance optimization method based on the ant colony algorithm for the ORC cycle needs a shorter optimization time and has a higher optimization efficiency.
