In this paper, a hybrid HARQ scheme was proposed by combing forced retransmission and traditional HARQ together, after analyzing the characteristics of satellite channel and the problem encountered when utilizing HARQ scheme in GEO satellite communication system. The forced retransmission can make a packet be correctly decoded more quickly and shorten the waiting delay. Meanwhile, to balance the delay and throughput, the proper parameters were given for the proposed hybrid scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme performs well at decreasing the waiting delay, especially when SNR is low. The conclusion can be drawn that the proposed scheme can improve the HARQ performance in GEO satellite communication systems.

Abstract This article introduces an early warning and control method of user satellite communication traffic applied to satellite communication system. Due to the high communication cost of transportation satellites, in order to avoid high communication bills, the full-service ability to collect call data records (CDR) by Transportation Satellite Business Support System is required to provide early warning and business control over the four dimensions of voice, data, text messages, and package fees for satellite communications. At the same time, the system predicts the typical user behavior through the time series prediction Prophet algorithm, which serves as the default reminder rule to achieve full coverage of users.

Ka-band satellite communication system has some advantages including a large bandwidth, a huge capacity, a narrow beam, a small terminal size, which makes it a trend in future satellite communications. However, the system is now faced with great challenge-meteorological factors, which aroused suspicion among researchers about its realization. In this paper, the feature of rain fade is analyzed and several compensation methods are presented.

Determining how to search for the best receiving point of the satellite ground receiving station is the main objective, when it can only be set in the area where the side lobe of the transmitting antenna in the synchronous satellite covers. The scenario of the synchronous satellite communication system was built with the help of the STK software, the method of building the antenna model was introduced. Based on the scenario, by bringing in the GA, the algorithm of how to search the best receiving point rapidly and accurately was given. The comparison of the simulation results shows that the algorithm of this paper gives a better performance on the time costing and calculation speed than the conventional method, so the algorithm given by this paper has some application value.

The progressively demand on satellite communication systems has consequently resulted in lower frequency bands getting more congested. The usage of frequency band beyond 10 GHz is in focus nowadays as a result of the rapid expansion of radio communication systems. However, Rain is the leading attenuation factor of different communication signal of frequencies beyond 10 GHz. Attenuation due to rain has a significant propagation effect that needs to be carefully considered in satellite communication system network. Rain attenuation predictions and rain rate are essential when planning microwave satellite communication links.  A review of the rain rate integration time and rain attenuation models for microwave and millimeter bands satellite system is presented.  Keywords: Frequency Band, Rain Attenuation, Rain Attenuation Model, Rain Rate, Satellite System
