This paper constructs the evaluation index system of electricity competitiveness in terminal energy consumption, evaluates the electricity competitiveness in Ningxia region from 2005 to 2011 using principal component analysis (PCA), and compares the evaluation results of PCA, the linear weighted method, the comprehensive index method and TOPSIS-grey correlation method. The compatibility degree and difference degree of each method are analyzed and calculated to verify the applicability of the PCA. The results show that PCA is the most scientific and appropriate evaluation method.

For the traditional multi-process capability construction method based on principal component analysis, the process variables are mainly considered, but not the process capability, which leads to the deviation of the contribution rate of principal component. In response to the question, this paper first clarifies the problem from two aspects: theoretical analysis and example proof. Secondly, aiming at the rationality of principal components degree, an evaluation method for pre-processing data before constructing MPCI using PCA is proposed. The pre-processing of data is mainly to standardize the specification interval of quality characteristics making the principal components degree more reasonable and optimizes the process capability evaluation method. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the method are proved by an application example.

To one company, it takes 8 major economic indicators as evaluation indexes. Firstly, it uses correlation method to determine the weight and uses the double-point method to sort the 8-years comprehensive economic enterprises. Then through the analysis of the correlation matrix, it identifies the main factors. Finally, the ranking and principal component analysis results are compared and analyzed.

On the basis of understanding the indexes of different tributaries of Bai Ta Pu river and according to the contribution rate of each principal component, the comprehensive score of different tributaries was calculated through principal component analysis. Each tributary was ranked according to the score, and the evaluation results were analyzed. It is pointed out that the tributary with the highest comprehensive index of Bai Ta Pu river is in Shi Jia Zhai bridge and the tributary with the lowest comprehensive index is in De Sheng Tun bridge.

The effect evaluation of video surveillance system is important for the effect of expected protection on the system. A comprehensive effect evaluation index system of video surveillance system is established. The Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method is applied on the established index system to obtain a new evaluation index system. It is proved in instances that the effect evaluation method of video surveillance system with the application of the index system is capable of evaluating the video surveillance system effectively and quantitatively. The protective effect of the video surveillance system is evaluated objectively on the basis of the new index system with the PCA.
