Modern methods of recycling spent automotive catalysts and their main disadvantages in industrial practice are considered. The electrochlorination method is proposed as the basis of the platinum-group metals extraction technology after electric arc melting of ceramic catalysts carrier material. The results of the experimental work on the extraction of platinum, palladium, rhodium are analyzed.

Modern methods of recycling spent automotive catalysts and their main disadvantages in industrial practice are considered. The electrochlorination method is proposed as the basis of the platinum-group metals (PGM) recycling technology. As the test of proposed technology a few tons of spent automotive catalysts were processed. The results of the work on the extraction of platinum, palladium, rhodium are analyzed. The extraction rates during experiments were reached for Pt - 97%, Pd - 97% and Rh - 80%.

The main objective of this work is to present the preliminary results on the analysis of the signals arising from the electrical arc, during the vacuum arc remelting of Zircaloy electrodes, aiming the automation of the fusion process. Zircaloy electrodes were made from compacted chips resultant of the machining of Zircaloy rods. The melts were performed in a prototype (vacuum arc remelting) VAR furnace under low pressure of argon and the arc was fed by a constant DC power source. Both filtered and unfiltered signals were recorded by means of a data acquisition system. The fast Fourier transforms FFT and autocorrelation integral were used as tools for data analysis. The result showed that the events occurring within the electric arc have a strong influence on the electric signals. The analysis allowed inferring that the VAR electric arc system has mainly a chaotic behaviour and sporadic periods of linear behaviour. The conclusion of this work is that a control system may be developed, based on the modelling of the non-linear behaviour of the arc, mainly chaotic. This may allow the achievement of an automatic control for the process and yield better quality products.

The article analyzes relevant aspects of the Russian language syllabus for schools in the light of the study content being presented in reference documents while taking into consideration historical background and context. Based on modern methods of scientific research, experimental work and experience in designing the study content of the Russian language course the authors conclude that relevant aspects of the school course syllabus come The article analyzes relevant aspects of the Russian (native) language syllabus for schools in the light of the study content being presented in reference documents while taking into consideration historical background and context. The article aims at drawing attention to peculiarities of designing the study content of the mother-tongue course formed at the edge of the 19-20th centuries which are still fruitfully developing nowadays. Based on modern methods of scientific research, experimental work and experience in designing the study content of the Russian (native) language course the authors conclude that relevant aspects of the school course syllabus come down to progressive movement towards competence approach in the presentation of the course’s content; actualization of its supra-subject (meta-subject) function; implementation of its axiological aspect; orientation of the school course on the development of the child's personality, one’s cognitive and creative abilities, as well as spiritual and social experience. The research resulted in methodical system aimed at meeting axiological, thematic and meta-subject challenges during the students’ broad-ranging activities.
