The experimental evidence for the existence of chain paramagnetic Curie-type contribution to the temperature dependence of the normal (non-superconducting) state magnetic susceptibility χ (T) was obtained for pure high-Tc superconductors (HTSC) YBa2Cu3O6+δ series with different oxygen contents (0.6 < δ ≤ 1). It was shown that this contribution became clearly evident on curves χ (T) only at the temperature T < 150 K. It increases with the amount of oxygen vacancies increase in Cu1–O4 chains, and also depends on the way of the oxygen vacancies ordering.

We report the synthesis and superconducting temperature of the high-T c compounds Tl 2 Ca 2 Ba 2 Cu 3 O 10 and TlCa 3 BaCu 3 O 9. The transition to the superconducting state was measured by the magnetic susceptibility changes and by the temperature dependence of the electrical a.c. and d.c. resistivity and by thermoelectric power measurements. For Tl 2 Ca 2 Ba 2 Cu 3 O 10 a superconducting transition with zero resistance at 114.5K have been observed. Higher T c with zero resistance at 122K have been found in TlCa 3 BaCu 3 O 9.

AbstractFindings from behavioural research are gaining increased interest in EU legislation, specifically in the area of unfair commercial practices. Prior research on the Mars case (Purnhagen and van Herpen 2017) has left open whether empirical evidence can provide an indication that this practice of using oversized indications of additional volume alters the transactional decision of consumers. This, however, is required to determine the “misleadingness” of such a practice in the legal sense as stipulated by the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive 2005/29/EC. The current paper closes this gap by illustrating how behavioural research can inform legal interpretation. In particular, it extends the previous research in two important ways: first, by examining the actual choice that people make; and second, by investigating whether the effects remain present in a context where a comparison product is available. Yet, while supporting and extending the findings of the study from Purnhagen and van Herpen (2017) on deceptiveness, the current study could not produce empirical evidence of a clear influence on the transactional decision of consumers, in the way “UCPD” requires.

The electrical characteristics of superconducting coils with non-insulated windings are studied. The procedures for measuring the parameters of uninsulated superconducting windings are described. In particular, the inductance is measured by voltage with a linear current input at a given rate. Attention is focused on the impossibility of correctly determining the inductance in a winding with an uninsulated superconductor in a normal state. It is noted that in a superconducting state at currents below the critical value, the inductance of the winding is comparable to the inductance with an insulated wire. The results of measurements of inductance, radial resistance, static current-voltage and magnetic characteristics of two tape coils with non-insulated superconducting windings, one of which had a soldered connection, are presented. Conditions for measuring the parameters of non-insulated superconducting windings are formulated when they are compared with insulated windings.
