This study investigates the prediction of job satisfaction using the important entrepreneurial characteristics of corporate entrepreneurship (CE), market orientation (MO) and organisational flexibility (F). In this study, Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used to predict the causal relationship between these entrepreneurial characteristics and job satisfaction (JS) as the outcome variable. It was found that the corporate entrepreneurship factors of work discretion, work improvement and rewards/reinforcement displayed a statistically significant common variance of ≥ 25.00 with extrinsic job satisfaction. The four Structural Equation Models built in this study indicated a reasonable to good fit with the data. Since all the entrepreneurial variables investigated can be controlled by management, it follows that the application of the research findings of this study can go a long way toward improving job satisfaction and possibly organisational performance through innovative entrepreneurial activities.

This study extends Social Identity Theory by examining the link between organizational identification (OI) and work engagement (WE) through enhanced job satisfaction (JS) and testing it in a non-US environment, which makes contribution to the literature. The study was conducted on a large sample (527) of Turkish blue and white-collar employees from business units of 15 independent companies from 10 different industry types and data was analyzed with Structural Equation Modelling. The results showed that organizational identification is positively related with work engagement. Job satisfaction did not moderate the relationship between OI and WE, but it mediated 54 % of the effect of OI and thus, confirmed the applicability of Social Identitiy Theory in a Turkish context. Results revealed that a sense of identification may be a precondition for work engagement; but it is the mediating effect of job satisfaction, which enhances this relationship.

AbstractResearch into spirituality and its impact on the work environment has been bourgeoning. In an attempt to explore the role of Islamic spirituality in the workplace, this study examines the influence of Islamic spirituality on job satisfaction and organisational commitment through work ethics. Data are obtained by an online Likert-scaled questionnaire survey based on one thousand Muslim employees from various economic sectors in Indonesia and analysed through structural equation modelling (SEM). The findings demonstrate that Islamic spirituality positively influences job satisfaction and organisational commitment as two dimensions of work attitudes and that work ethics mediate that influence. There is also evidence that job satisfaction positively influences organisational commitment, but work ethics does not moderate that influence. The findings related to the role of work ethics, which mediates the effect of Islamic spirituality on job satisfaction and organisational commitment, can be considered the contribution of this study.

Businesses should strive to identify and nurture internal organisational factors that cultivate a dynamic entrepreneurial culture. This paper scrutinizes the contribution of the internal organisational factors, measured by market orientation, flexibility and job satisfaction, to intrapreneurship, as measured by the Corporate Entrepreneurship Assessment Instrument (CEAI). Information from a sample of 333 managers explores the relationships of corporate entrepreneurship with different work variables by means of Product-Moment Correlation, Multiple Regression Analyses and Structural Equation Modelling. Structural Equation Modelling confirms that four of the corporate entrepreneurship factors were predicted reasonably well by means of the market orientation, flexibility and job satisfaction sub-scales. The article attempts to fill the research gap of identifying which market orientation, flexibility and job satisfaction factors play an important role in facilitating corporate entrepreneurial actions.

This research aims to analyze the role of organizational commitment in intervening the influence of job satisfaction toward organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), particularly in student organizational setting. Research subject is member of Himpunan Mahasiswa Manajemen (HIMAMA), a student organization in the Dapertment of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Sample was determined through purposive sampling, yielded 102 respondents. Data was collected using questionnaires, and then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS software. The research findings confirm that organizational commitment acts as intervening variable on the influence of job satisfaction toward OCB.

This paper explores how work motivation mediates the association between work environmental factors and job satisfaction. The data were collected through a questionnaire survey administered to middle and top managers in Jordanian ommercial banks. A total of 295 questionnaires were returned out of 500, with a response rate of 59%. Validity and reliability analyses were performed, and direct and indirect effects were tested using structural equation modelling. Work motivation was found to positively and significantly mediate the effects of work environmental factors on job satisfaction. This finding is attributed to work itself and its contextual factors contributing to employees’ positive feelings towards their jobs, depending on the effectiveness of their work motivation. This study fills a gap in the literature on how the psychological environment of the workplace affects work environmental factors.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of prestige sensitivity on mobile phone customer’s price acceptance in Vietnam and the mediating role of product knowledge and price mavenism on this relationship. We used the convenience sampling method for data collection via questionnaires with a sample of 605 consumers who purchased mobile phones. The collected data was analysed by applying a structural equation modelling method. The result indicates that prestige sensitivity has both direct and indirect effects on price acceptance via product knowledge and price mavenism. The findings suggest that prestige sensitivity can be used as a market segmentation criterion for mobile phones when making price decisions and providing customers with adequate information could improve price acceptance.

Work-Life balance has its importance from ancient days and the concept is very old, from the day the world has been created. There was a drastic change that has occurred in the market of teachers and their personal profiles. There are tremendous changes in various families which have bartered from the ‘breadwinner’ role of traditional men to single parent families and dual earning couples. This study furnishes an insight into work life balance and job satisfaction of teachers working in School of Villupuram District. The sample comprises of 75 school teachers from Government and private schools in Villupuram District. The Study results that there is increasing mediating evidence in Work-life balance as well as Job satisfaction of teachers are not affected by the type of school in which they are working. Job satisfaction or Pleasure of life will be affected as a whole by Work life balance of an individual which is the main which can be calculated by construct of subjective well being.

This research investigates the determinants of entrepreneurial intention among Vietnamese employees, a crucial segment of potential entrepreneurs yet mostly neglected in previous studies. Given the focus on intention to create an international business venture and the working segment, we expand the entrepreneurial event theory by supplementing perceived competence and job satisfaction as determinants of entrepreneurial intention while testing the mediation of perceived feasibility and perceived desirability in such relationships correspondingly. Three focus groups on 27 Vietnamese employees were conducted to explore the specific relevant competences and develop the conceptual model. Afterwards, data from an empirical survey on 567 Vietnamese employees was analysed using a partial least squares structural equation model to test the hypothesised relationships. The empirical results indicate that perceived competences, viz. administrative competence, communication skills, network building competence, and international business expertise have a positive impact on entrepreneurial intention. The relationships between either administrative competence, network building capacity or international business expertise, and entrepreneurial intention are totally mediated by perceived feasibility. The study also reveals a noteworthy finding about the negative direct effect of overall job satisfaction on entrepreneurial intention and the partial mediating role of perceived desirability in this relationship.
