Knowledge Management and Market Orientation have become buzzwords today owing to their importance for enhancing organizational performance. Innovation has become the strategic need of organizations at present in order to contend with the extreme market competition. The objective of this research was to examine the impact of knowledge management orientation on a firm’s performance with the mediating role of organizational innovation and market orientation. Data was collected through personal survey-based questionnaire. Based on a survey of 343 employees from Telecom Sector of Pakistan, this study applied Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Technique to observe the research model. The results of the study demonstrate that knowledge management orientation plays an affirmative role in the promotion of organizational performance. The organizational innovation has significant impact on the performance of the organization. It was also revealed that there is positive effect of market orientation on organizational performance. Moreover, innovation and market orientation were observed to have mediating role in the knowledge management orientation-organizational performance linkage. As, the global phenomenon exposes that if the knowledge management, market orientation and innovation in relation to performance are being practiced, then the results are promising, driving extensively in a constructive way as validated by the literature review. Consequently, this research is one the first attempts in Pakistan towards the perspective i.e. knowledge management orientation, organizational innovation, market orientation in relation to the performance of an organization. It will further contribute towards the local academic and viable arena of Pakistan.

<p>The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between human resource management (HRM) practices and organizational performance on the basis of 247 valid and reliable questionnaires distributed to managers at different management levels working in Jordanian manufacturing firms. The study also aimed to explore the mediating role of knowledge management as well as the moderating effect of organizational culture on the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance. Ten HRM practices and 10 indicators of organizational performance were adopted for the purpose of this study. Knowledge management was measured by examining three processes; knowledge creation, sharing and utilization. Organizational culture was measured according to passive/defensive, aggressive/defensive and constructive cultures. The results of the study supported the presumed hypotheses. Hence, HRM practices significantly predicted organizational performance. Knowledge management mediated the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance. Finally, it was found that organizational culture moderated the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance as well as the relationship between HRM practices and knowledge management. Constructive cultures play a positive role in the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance (OP), while defensive cultures negatively affect the relationship between HRM practices and knowledge management (KM). The main contribution of this study to the literature on HRM, KM and OP derives from the lack of prior studies addressing the same purposes as this study. The study informs researchers and managers that both knowledge management and organizational culture mediate and moderate the impact of HRM practices on organizational performance to a considerable extent.</p>

Purpose This study aims to examine the impact of balanced agile project management (balanced APM) on firm performance through the mediating role of market orientation and strategic agility of medium and large telecommunication technology providers in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach Research data was collected from the executive management of telecommunication technology providers in Indonesia via a questionnaire survey to obtain 150 valid questionnaires for analysis. This study analyzed the overall model fit through confirmatory factor analysis and causal relationships through structural equation modeling. Findings The results indicate that market orientation mediates the link between balanced APM and strategic agility and that strategic agility mediates the link between market orientation and firm performance. Research limitations/implications The choice of single telecommunication industry in a single country, Indonesia, provides a limitation on external validity. It is, therefore, suggested to extend the research efforts to other industry sectors in multi-country environments. Originality/value This study extends the knowledge about agile project management by embracing balancing control enforcement and tests it empirically. This study also re-conceptualizes strategic agility to embrace business partner switching capability and market orientation to embrace the inter-partner coordination dimension. Finally, the results highlight that agile project management needs to be framed by market orientation to create higher value for customers. However, market orientation alone is not enough and that the organization requires strategic agility to achieve firm performance.

This paper aims to investigate the mediating role of knowledge management between organizational culture, structure, strategy, and employee and organisational performance. There is a significant research work on Knowledge Management (KM) globally; however, there is a dearth of research in contextualizing the concept in the Middle East. Therefore, adopting a multiple case-based approach, this paper conducted 478 surveys in five public organizations in Kuwait. The results suggested that KM could mediate the impact of organizational strategy and HRD structure. Surprisingly, organizational culture emerged as the only construct that remained uninfluenced by knowledge management practices. This research makes a vital contribution to the under-researched knowledge management concept in the region and the relevant cognitive understanding of social practice in relation to the HRD. It, therefore, proposes an integrative framework which specifies the conceptual linkages between organization characteristics and potential performance.
