The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze research on teaching in doctoral programs. Research on teaching was differentiated from research on teacher education. Abstracts of research were obtained from Dissertation Abstracts International for dissertations completed from 1975 to 1984. Data were recorded for the year the dissertation was completed, primary and secondary (if any) focus of the study, observation instruments used, population, and the type of statistics used to analyze the data. Some 120 studies were identified as research on teaching in physical education. A majority of the studies (55) were comparisons of teaching methods using no observation instrument. Methods research was followed in frequency by descriptive research (22), instrument development (16), and comparisons among student subgroups (15). Systematic observation was not used in 60 studies. Of those studies where systematic observation was used, specific instruments were developed for research and other common instruments were employed. Most research occurred in elementary and secondary schools. A large proportion of the studies used univariate statistics to complete the data analysis.

Basic specialized courses play a "bridge" and "link" role between the basic courses and specialized courses. The study on how to develop students’ practical engineering capabilities in the teaching of basic specialized theoretical courses is of great significance for the cultivation of application-oriented engineering students. “Post-Press Processing Technology” is an important core specialized course for printing engineering specialty. Using the course teaching of “Post-Press Processing Technology” as an example, based on the in-depth study of the course’s knowledge and theory layout, this paper seriously explores on the ways to improve the academic quality of printing engineering students and enhance their practical skills, and carries out some preliminary exploration and practice in cultivating and improving practical engineering capabilities of engineering students with comprehensive application of various teaching methods and so on.

 Abstract – Engineering students are well equipped with a technical background to become agents of social change. This paper highlights a co-curricular social innovation program that aims to foster that potential through team-based project-based learning. Key teaching methods are described, such as how students establish a vision, scope complex projects, effectively build teams, and leverage failure and iteration for learning. The program faces challenges maintaining student engagement and getting them to fully embrace learning through failure, but has had significant success in fostering self-reflection. It has also been successful in creating a structure whereby personal and leadership learning happen alongside design and project-oriented learning. There is opportunity for the teaching methods and structure of this program to be applied to other contexts in an effort to improve student team learning outcomes and find ways to integrate leadership learning into core technical and design courses.

In the new stage of the new century, a new technological revolution is coming quietly. This revolution is represented by “data.” The application of “big data (B D A)” technology is causing changes in all walks of life, and the use of “B D A research methods” in the education field will inevitably become a trend. The purpose of this article is an innovative research on the teaching methods of Taekwondo based on the background of B D A in a college elective course. This paper first introduces the core technology of the database by summarizing the basic theory of the database. Based on the current situation of elective Taekwondo teaching in contemporary universities, analyze the current problems and deficiencies and conduct innovative research on college elective Taekwondo teaching methods combined with Beidou technology. This paper systematically expounds the practical connection, method innovation, and implementation path between BDA technology and college elective Taekwondo teaching methods and compares the traditional Taekwondo teaching methods based on BDA technology. Experimental research shows that compared with traditional Taekwondo teaching methods, the performance of university Taekwondo teaching based on data mining (D M I) in the context of B D A is more than 20% higher, which fully reflects its feasibility and the innovation of traditional Taekwondo teaching methods needs to be solved urgently.
