The responsibility of the development and the achievement of the child seems to be put on the shoulders of the preschool teacher. However, education is a teamwork in which not only teacher but also school administrator, family, school counselor (psychological counselor) and other supporting units should take active duty and work in cooperation. The school counselor plays an important role in following and supporting the child's bio-psycho-social development in this process. For all that, it is noteworthy that there is no effective cooperation between preschool teacher and school counselor. This study aims to investigate the perceptions of preschool teachers about school counselors. The data on school counselors’ perceptions was collected by metaphor analysis method. Content analysis was used to classify the data. The study group of the research consisted of 221 preschool teachers working in European side of Istanbul during the academic year of 2016-2017. As a means of collecting data, teachers were asked to complete the sentence "School counselor is like .............. because ..........". Also the "personal information form" was used to obtain demographic information. Conceptual categories were created by analyzing the reasons why teachers prefered and used their spesific expressions to complete the survey. It was determined that the school counselor perceived positive expressions such as advisor, helper, guiding, problem solver, supporting.

Fasteners in the form of a «T» are items of fress seen in sculpture dating from the iberian period. For many years, fasteners of his type which are relatively rare, were only found in archaeological sites in the Península itself. In his study, we examine the recent discovery of these fasteners in two Coastal sites, namely Cartela (San Roque, Cádiz) and Septem Fratres (Cuenca), the first on the European side and the second on the African side of the Straits of Gibraltar. The existence of the these fasteners, along with other pieces of evidence, go to prove that the Híspanles were indeed involved in fishing activities on both shores of the Straits of Gibraltar at the time of the Romans. The fact that these items of dress have bee found in Ceuta confirms that the were sitill being uses at the time of the Román Empire.

Nothing lasts forever, including the effect of chemicals aimed to control pests in food production. As old pesticides have been compromised by emerging resistance, new ones have been introduced and turned the odds back in our favour. With time, however, some pests have developed multi-pesticide resistance, challenging our ability to control them. In salmonid aquaculture, the ectoparasitic salmon louse has developed resistance to most of the available delousing compounds. The discovery of genetic markers associated with resistance to organophosphates and pyrethroids made it possible for us to investigate simultaneous resistance to both compounds in approximately 2000 samples of salmon lice from throughout the North Atlantic in the years 2000–2016. We observed widespread and increasing multiresistance on the European side of the Atlantic, particularly in areas with intensive aquaculture. Multiresistant lice were also found on wild Atlantic salmon and sea trout, and also on farmed salmonid hosts in areas where delousing chemicals have not been used. In areas with intensive aquaculture, there are almost no lice left that are sensitive to both compounds. These results demonstrate the speed to which this parasite can develop widespread multiresistance, illustrating why the aquaculture industry has repeatedly lost the arms race with this highly problematic parasite.

Trade agreements cannot avoid dealing with digital services and data sharing. In the cases of TTIP, CETA, and TiSA, different concepts of data protection collide and it is the fear of the European side that the EU’s acquis on data privacy could get compromised through the liberalization of data flows. This chapter analyses the possible impact of these agreements on data protection. It refers to the European Parliament’s call to include a horizontal self-standing clause in TTIP to exclude the current and future EU data protection legislation from being traded in TTIP, a claim which is based on Article XIV of the GATS. In dealing with these issues, it will be considered further that the EU and the US are discussing data transfers and data protection in other fora as well, namely on the tracks of the new Safe Harbor Agreement and the Data Protection Umbrella Agreement.

Landfilling is one of the most important methods for disposal of solid waste in many countries. One of the most obvious problems associated with the landfilling practice is the generation of leachate. This chapter reviews case studies on the on-site treatment of leachates using various technologies in selected European and Asian countries. It was shown that the generation of leachate varies widely in both quantity and quality in European and Asian countries. Biological treatment and membrane technology show very high efficiencies in treating leachate generated from Odayeri landfill (in European side of Turkey) and Komurcuoda landfill (at Asian side of Turkey). Leachates from Arpley landfill (UK) and Bukit Tagar landfill (Malaysia) were successfully treated using sequence batch reactor (SBR). Fairly good treatment efficiencies were obtained using constructed wetlands (CWs) in treating Gdansk-Szadolki landfill leachate in Poland. Furthermore, the use of coagulation, filtration and membrane technologies has been proven effectively in treating Nonthaburi landfill leachate in Thailand.
