An essay presents the method and tool which can be used to control the mass of aggregates deliveries under construction site conditions. The method based on statistics allows determining the optimal quantity of transports to be inspected, required to estimate the total sum of loose materials deliveries assuming estimation error and confidence level conditions. Inspection based on described method allows to improve the effectiveness of earthworks execution as well as gives the possibility to evaluate the quality of the supplier.

This article develops one new test technology, dumbbell test method, for evaluation of the early age cracking property of Concrete Material under constraint conditions. Its exercise of stress risers could lead concrete to crack quickly, providing a quick method to evaluate the early age crack performance of concrete material and to perform simulated test at job site conveniently. By this method, the anti-cracking performance of different concrete material can be evaluated quickly in the construction site.

Abstract. The compressive strength and elastic modulus of early-age shotcrete have important influence on the safety of tunnel during construction period. In order to investigate the laws of the mechanical properties of early-age shotcrete, experiments on the compressive strength and elastic modulus of early-age shotcrete with two different mixes used frequently on construction sites were carried out. The results show that the compressive strength and elastic modulus of shotcrete develop fairly rapidly and especially the development of elastic modulus of shotcrete is faster than that of ordinary concrete. There is an exponential relationship between the compressive strength and time as well as the elastic modulus development and time. Simultaneously their formulas were derived. The research results of this paper are not only helpful to understand the laws of the mechanical properties of early-age shotcrete, but also provide some reference for the reliability analysis of tunnel under construction.

AbstractOn 15 October 1970, at 11:50AM, part of the West Gate Bridge in Melbourne, span 10-11 of 367 feet length, disintegrated and triggered the collapse of the bridge. Thirty-five men were killed in the disaster. The bridge was still under construction, all those killed were workers or engineers employed on the construction site. The investigation of a Royal Commission revealed a mismatch between an ambitious structural design of the bridge plus an unconventional method of erection and a fragmented, conflict-ridden construction management whose detrimental effects remained unchecked by public authorities. Regulatory powers and enforcement competence had been delegated to a QUANGO—a quasi-non-governmental organization—which diluted responsibility structures and decisively weakened the coordination and control capacity of the agency.

The principles of determining the conditions of tightness of the construction site in accordance with the requirements of normative documentation are shown. On concrete examples the features of defi nition of types of cranes, conditions of their placement on a construction site are considered. Shows examples of the placement of diff erent valves within a single construction site. The possibilities of limiting the boundaries of the zones of operation of the crane are determined. Possibilities of restriction of a dangerous zone of action of the crane according to the standard literature are presented.

Abstract Current estimates of the actual productivity of heavy construction machinery at a construction site are not supported by an appropriate and widely used methodology. Recently, for the purpose of estimating the actual productivity of heavy construction machinery, vision-based technologies are used. This paper emphasizes the importance of estimating actual productivity and presents a way (i.e. a research framework) to achieve it. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to propose a simple research framework (SRF) for quick and practical estimates of excavator actual productivity and cycle time at a construction site. The excavator actual productivity refers to the maximum possible productivity in real construction site conditions. The SRF includes the use of a video camera and the analysis of recorded videos using an advanced computer program. In cases of continuous application of SRF, a clear and transparent base for monitoring and control of earthworks can be obtained at an observed construction site.

The article presents a method for choosing rational organizational and technological decisions at the grain storages construction or reconstruction sites using the results of the author's experimental and theoretical studies. It is given conditions analysis for the investigated enterprises operational activity. The obtained experimental statistical dependencies of the indicators change of such operational activity from the varied organizational and technological factors and the developed algorithms allow choosing rational organizational and technological decisions for the elevators construction and reconstruction based on the construction site conditions analysis and on the effective planning.
