RESUMO:  Cada vez mais, os conceitos de projetos e execução de obras, como manutenção dos sistemas prediais, estão sofrendo modificações tecnológicas que visam o melhor planejamento, execução e desempenho. Os avanços tecnológicos acompanhados por bons profissionais contribuem para a qualidade final do empreendimento. Porém, diante deste cenário, existem falhas na concepção dos edifícios. Observa-se então, a importância do comissionamento como um processo de qualidade que colabora com a integração de projetos multidisciplinares além de avaliar e acompanhar as atividades de operação e manutenção dos sistemas prediais, em conformidade com os requisitos do proprietário e premissas originais de projeto. Diante disto, o objetivo deste trabalho é avaliar a aplicação do processo de comissionamento de sistemas prediais, tomando como estudo de caso, um banheiro sanitário. Com isso, pretende-se contribuir para a utilização do comissionamento nas instalações prediais bem como na manutenção de sistemas e qualidade final dos empreendimentos residenciais. ABSTRACT: Increasingly, the concepts of projects and execution of civil works, such as maintenance of the building systems, are undergoing technological modifications aiming at the best planning, execution and performance. The Technological advances accompanied by good professionals contribute to the final quality of the enterprise. All this to meet the owner's design requirements. However, in face of this scenario, there are flaws in the designing buildings. So it can be observed the importance of design requirements as a process to meet the owners in the phases of  building’s life cycle, besides training professionals in the areas of operation and maintenance. Therefore the aim of  this study is evaluate the application  the commissioning process of building systems , taking as a case study, a bathroom toilet.  With this, it is intended to contribute to the use of commissioning in the building installations as well as in the maintenance of systems and final quality of residential developments.

Education is an important thing that has become a necessity for every human being in order to achieve a better quality of life. Education cannot be separated from the educational curriculum, which is where the curriculum continues to develop following every development of society and technological advances. The curriculum is the heart of education and is dynamic in nature where the curriculum must always be updated or changed. From this curriculum reform and change, it is a challenge for teachers to continue to innovate to improve the quality of education. By using a qualitative research method a case study approach, it is hoped that it can explain the real picture that is being experienced by the teacher at SMK Ibnu Sina. which focuses on the Sharia Banking major due to changes in the adjusted curriculum because the world is being faced by COVID-19. In the era of COVID-19, the educational curriculum must be adjusted, which in the beginning learning can be face-to-face now has turned into a distance learning online learning model.

Quality management in the library is related to quality control of the library's work to meet user expectations and contributes to the continued success of the organization. However, quality control is lacking and not be the main focus in many libraries. This paper aims to explain how quality management improves work results in libraries. The research method used in this paper is qualitative research using a case study method. We conduct research in Library X that already underwent quality control in book processing activities. The data were collected through observation, and interviews for book processing activities and its quality control data during 2018-2020. The data was then analyzed document analysis. The study found that Library X could perform better by improving the quality of book processing and fixing the error just before they put the book on its shelves. Quality control gives a comprehensive evaluation in Library X either for humans, processes, and systems of book processing activities that help Library X conduct its duty to provide their user needs and expectations. Quality control and quality management also help Library X describe the library working atmosphere and can be used for giving motivation to all librarians and staff to give better service and performance for the end-users.

The Bergman model is one of the most commonly used models applied to the representation of the artificial pancreas (AP). It is important to study the effects of the insulin infusion on blood glucose concentration. This work includes a case study for the design of a robust controller for an AP. Robustness is a structured control that improves a system's ability to keep its stability and performance under various conditions. The proposed H∞ loop shaping HLS method will fulfill the design requirements of robust control and performance. The results of the simulation prove the superiority of the intended approach in terms of simple structure, robust performance, and stability with the least control effort

Kampung batik Giriloyo is one of the centers of batik tulis production in Indonesia, located in Yogyakarta. During Covid-19, the number of visitors decreased from 600 – 1500 people per day to 50 people per day. Based on data from the financial department of Kampung batik Giriloyo, sales of Giriloyo’s products have also decreased by 67.78% from 1.997 billion to 643.3 million. In addition, based on data from Bank Indonesia, e-commerce transactions in Indonesia increased by 18,1% (98,3 million transactions) with transaction values increasing by 9,9% (20,7 trillion) during covid-19. Based on these problems, by taking advantage of technological advances, the researcher proposed to design a sales application as an alternative to increasing the sales of batik products in Kampung Giriloyo. This study aims to determine the features needed by visitors in Kampung batik Giriloyo for application using the quality function deployment method to determine customer needs and the system development life cycle to design application models. The results of this study are 9 lists of customer needs for the application, the features for the application, and the prototype of the application.

This study describe the design features and performance of the unglazed transpired solar dryer for large and medium scale drying of Dates in the Dates growing area of Pakistan. The dryer has the designed capacity to dry 500 Kg of Dates from Khalaal (70% humidity) to Tamar (25% humidity), at 55 C ± 5 C in 72 continuous hours using biomass furnace as an auxiliary heat source and it covers approximately 256 m2 areas. This is the ideal humidity condition to store Dates for one year without any further degradation. In traditional open sunshine the huge quantity of Dates are dried in over 150 h hours and requires hectare of area to spread the Dates. Moreover, the quality of Dates in the open sunshine is affected badly due to two main reasons. Firstly, the heavy dust in the area that sticks the Dates during the drying process makes them unable to eat. Secondly, the Monsoon rains in the months of July and August also destroys Dates placed in the open areas for drying. Dera Ismail (D.I.) Khan, a remote district of Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa province of Pakistan, was selected to study the performance of Dates dryer, where solar insolation is 700-750 W/m2 in the months of July and August. The Dates were dried continuously and during off sunshine hours biomass auxiliary source was used. This solar dryer, containing eight trolleys and each trolley is loaded with twelve trays, is the first in Pakistan to dry a large amount of Dates. Moreover, the unglazed transpired dryer is designed in such a way that it can withstand the dusty atmosphere of D.I. Khan and also protect the Dates from dust and rainy water during the drying period. The design does not have any adverse effect on the quality of dried Dates. In D.I. Khan around 350 days are sunny per year and solar thermal technology is economically feasible compared to other conventional energy resources with a payback period of 3 and 7.5 years compared to un-subsided and subsided cost of Natural Gas respectively. The Natural Gas is the cheapest conventional energy source in Pakistan. But solar thermal technology is yet not popular source of energy in the area due to lack of information, fear of initial capital cost and weak government policies for renewable energies. This study also incorporates the recommendations to overcome these issues regarding Solar Thermal Technology, PACS Number: 44.40.+a, 89.30.Cc, 84.60.- h, 89.30.-g.

Safety, cost, ride quality, and performance are characteristics of pavement systems that are considered high-priority customer demands by transportation agencies throughout the world. Ride quality is the characteristic most notable to the traveling public. Throughout the United States, numerous state and federal agencies have developed specifications that require that road contractors meet a minimum level of ride quality before a pavement is approved for payment. Studies have shown that initial (as constructed) ride quality is an important factor in determining overall serviceability and length of time to rehabilitation or reconstruction. A case study in Cowley County, Kansas, in which the ride quality of an existing jointed, plain concrete pavement was significantly improved by the placement of a thin, polymer-modified, asphaltemulsion microsurfacing system, is described. The existing pavement conditions, the construction techniques used by the contractor, and the smoothness measurements before and after construction are noted and discussed. It was found that a marked reduction in roughness can be accomplished with unique construction techniques and microsurfacing.

The loss in the quality of energy throughout any process can be assessed by the thermodynamics magnitude related to its entropic performance—the exergy. This indicator has been suggested as an environmental index, as an alternative to life cycle assessment (LCA), which is a classic tool for this purpose. This study assesses the potential of coupling the life cycle approach and exergy in a bioenergy supply chain environmental performance characterization, examining two scenarios in the sugarcane agroindustry. The first one, the reference scenario, is a classical production, and the second includes the returning of a portion of residual biomass from the plant, in the form of biochar, to agricultural soil. The use of biochar engendered an increase in sugarcane productivities and a reduction of nitrous oxide emissions. These changes resulted in scenarios 1 and 2, reducing the exergy destroyed from 390 to 355 MJ/MJ ethanol (9.0%) and decreasing the greenhouse gases emissions (GHG) from 11.8 to 11.0 g CO2-equivalent/MJ ethanol (6.8%). The latter represents an improvement in the use of carbon. A sensitivity analysis showed that the effect of changing productivity was quite significant: The exergy showed a sensitivity of −0.49, and in total emissions, this figure was slightly lower, at −0.41. By changing the emissions of N2O in the soil, the sensitivity of exergy was almost null, and the total emissions were 0.077.

After establishment of design requirements and creation of an initial shape, the design process of free form shapes should include interrogation and fairing until a desired shape, with appropriate geometric and performance characteristics, is achieved. Afterwards, the quality of the manufactured product can be determined by comparing measured data with the design model. To permit automated design and manufacturing, mathematical methods and algorithms for the creation, interrogation, fairing, and inspection of curves and surfaces have been developed and integrated into a computer system called Praxiteles. The general layout of Praxiteles, along with a description of design capabilities, is presented. This description covers the areas of input, output, approximation and conversion for data exchange, a summary of some shape creation methods, and a description of some advanced interactive interrogation, fairing, and inspection methods for NURBS curves and surfaces. Examples illustrate some of the features of the system, as applied in the design and inspection of marine propellers. Recommendations for future development of the system are also presented.
