The Learning Management System (LMS) has attained great significance in the innovative teaching-learning process at the university level during pandemics. The 21st century saw innovation in technology use and incorporation of LMS in the teaching-learning process. The major objective of the present study was to determine the teacher-learner perception towards the adaptation of the Learning Management System and to examine the adoption baseline for LMS by incorporating critical external factors in the technology acceptance model. A mixed-method research approach was used. Data was collected from 400 learners and 20 teachers. It was found that teacher’s perception of LMS is affected by a number of factors related to social influence, perceived ease of use and usefulness. In addition, factors such as actual use of the system and content qualities are also important to whether teachers embrace a system or not. The study provides some useful insights on LMS adoption and highlights how innovative tools can transform the conventional learning landscape.

Pandemi COVID-19 menuntut sektor pendidikan untuk melakukan berbagai perubahan maupun inovasi dan adaptasi demi pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran tetap berjalan baik. Pandemi COVID-19 mendorong sektor pendidikan terutama perguruan tinggi untuk melakukan perubahan pada model proses pembelajaran dimana proses pembelajaran berpindah dari pembelajaran konvensional atau tatap muka di kelas menjadi pembelajaran online atau daring. Dengan demikian, tenaga pengajar yaitu dosen dan mahasiswa harus siap beradaptasi dan menghadapi terobosan maupun tantangan baru terhadap perubahan sistem dalam  pembelajaran yang diterapkan perguruan tinggi. Learning Management System (LMS) adalah salah satu cara yang digunakan oleh perguruan tinggi untuk mendukung dan mengelola pembelajaran secara online agar proses belajar mengajar tetap berjalan dengan baik selama pandemic COVID-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode semi deskriptif   kuantitatif. Dimana tujuan  dalam  penelitian ini adalah untuk  menjelaskan pemanfaatan Learning Management System sebagai media pembelajaran online yang digunakan selama pandemic COVID-19. Aplikasi Learning Management System seperti Google Classroom, Edmodo, Moodle, serta SEVIMA Edlink dan LMS yang dikembangkan oleh perguruan tinggi maupun yang disediakan oleh pemerintah sangat bermanfaat sebagai media pembelajaran online atau daring selama pandemi COVID-19. Dimana dengan aplikasi LMS ini, sistem pembelajaran dan komunikasi tetap berjalan dengan baik dengan memanfaatkan fasilitas yang tersedia dalam aplikasi LMS tersebut.   Kata kunci: komponen; Learning Mangement System, Pembelajaran Online, COVID-19   Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic requires the education sector to make various changes and innovations and adaptations for the implementation of the learning process to continue. The COVID-19 pandemic encouraged the education sector, especially universities, to make changes to the learning process model where the learning process moves from conventional or face-to-face learning in the classroom to online or online learning. Thus, faculty, lecturers and students must be ready to adapt and face breakthroughs and new challenges to the system changes in learning implemented by universities. Learning Management System (LMS) is one of the ways used by universities to support and manage online learning so that the teaching learning process continues well during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used in this study is a semi-descriptive quantitative method. Where the purpose in this study is to explain the utilization of Learning Management System as an online learning medium used during the COVID-19 pandemic. Learning Management System applications such as Google Classroom, Edmodo, Moodle, and SEVIMA Edlink and LMS developed by universities as well as provided by the government are very useful as online or online learning media during the COVID-19 pandemic. Abstract: Factors Affecting the Use of the Learning Management System inUniversities (A Case Study in Indonesia University of Education). The purpose ofthis paper is to find out factors that affect the usage of the Learning ManagementSystem (LMS) in in Indonesia University of Education. Indonesia University ofEducation has been built LMS to support learning processes. The focus is on factorsaffecting the use of LMS in supporting effective and efficient learning processes. Inthis research the writer used Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to find outthose factors. The data were collected using the survey technique and wereanalyzed by means of the multivariate statistic method. The result of this researchconcluded that the factors of Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use(PEOU), Intention to Use (ITU), Actual Usage Behavior (AUB) significantly affectedthe effective and efficient use of LMS in supporting learning processes.Keywords: Learning Management System (LMS), Technology Acceptance Model(TAM), Information and Communication technology (ICT).


In recent years, there has been a growing increase in using Learning Management System (LMS) by universities. However, its utilization by students is limited in Malaysia. The main purpose of the present study is to develop and test a model that predicts LMS utilization by Malaysian higher education students. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model, the study investigated the relationships among six constructs (system interactivity, technical support, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention to use and LMS use) through structural equation modelling. The participants were 216 undergraduate students from a local university in Malaysia. The result of the study revealed that system interactivity had a significant effect on perceived usefulness, but not on perceived ease of use; technical support had a significant effect on perceived ease of use, but not on perceived usefulness.

The purpose of this study is to measure factors that influence students’acceptance of a Learning Management System (LMS) using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). LMS is an information system that facilitates e-learning that serves to process, store, disseminate learning materials and provides administrative support and communication related to the teaching and learning process. Support students as users of the LMS content are one of the success factors in the implementation of the LMS. This study uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which has five factors namely perceived usefullness, perceived ease of use, attitudes towards to use, behavioral intention to use and actual use. A set of questionnaires have been completed by 60 students in Politeknik SAKTI Surabaya. Data were processed using SmartPLS and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. The results showed that the TAM was valid, reliable, and substantially acceptable based on the results of data evaluation, ie the indicator factor loading > 0.5, the t-statistic ≥ 1.96, the cronbach alpha ≥ 0.6, and the value of the goodness of fit  = 0.47. The factors that influence students’acceptance of a LMS in Politeknik SAKTI Surabaya are perceived usefullness, perceived ease of use, and attitudes towards to use, affecting the intention to use, and significantly affect the actual use of LMS.

Learning management systems have transformed the information delivery mechanism. The present study derives dimensions from technology acceptance model and assesses the association between the faculty's satisfaction, perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) in a Moodle-based learning management system. The data collection was done using a questionnaire from one hundred and ninety-nine faculty of B-Schools, using Moodle as the LMS. The findings indicate that both ease of use and perceived usefulness are significant predictors of faculty satisfaction from MOODLE LMS. In addition to the aforementioned TAM constructs, the study has measured moderating impact of demographic variables like city, gender and age. These variables are important differentiators in the Indian context, as LMS is a relatively new adoption in Indian education industry. The study reports that although age is a differentiator between two defined groups, it is however not significantly moderating the relationship between PEOU and satisfaction with Moodle. Gender and type of city (metro versus non-metro cities) have significantly moderated the relationship between PEOU and the satisfaction with Moodle. The study also labels constraints in terms of LMS usage and give suggestions towards its effective use. Henceforth, any similar system must incorporate these constructs to improve the satisfaction and adoption of the LMS by instructors.

With the pervasive take-up and presence of digital technologies, learning management system (LMS) is popular for its open accessibility and its interactive nature. Implementation of LMS has become part of the strategic plan in higher education institution to enhance the flexibility in teaching and learning. It is essential to explore the perceptions of users in using the LMS in order to inform stakeholders the positive influencing aspects and improve the negative factors in the future. This study investigates the perception of lecturers in using LMS in term of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use for teaching purposes. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is used as the research framework to design the questionnaire. An online questionnaire was created to address the research questions. The results reveal that lecturers do not react positively towards perceived ease of use of Moodle for teaching. Lecturers treat Moodle as content repository and do not fully utilize the interactive features in Moodle. It was found that usability issues, interaction and communication issues had a negative impact on the lecturers' perception.

This study examined the relationship between students’ satisfaction in the newly developed Learning Management System “Acadox”, and their perceptions of its usefulness, and ease of use. The study used a descriptive correlational design to examine the relationships among variables, as they exist in their natural settings. To measure students’ satisfaction in Acadox, perceptions of usefulness, and perceptions of ease of use of Acadox, a web-basecd survey was developed be the researcher. Data were collected from seventy-five students enrolled in courses that used Acadox as a learning management system in the Middle East region, namely, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The findings of this study revealed that students’ perceptions of ease of use, and perceptions of usefulness were significant predictors of satisfaction in Acadox. The findings of this study are consistent with the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which indicates that one’s perceptions of ease of use, and perceptions of usefulness of the new technology are the key factors that determine whether user will accept or not the new technology.

<span>The study on which this article reports examined the determinants of usage of an online learning management system (LMS) by fourth level business students at a South African open and distance learning university using an extension of the widely used technology acceptance model (TAM) as a theoretical basis. A survey was conducted among students at their annual summer school, with 213 usable questionnaires being returned. The findings suggest that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use as core aspects of the TAM and TAM2 models are confirmed, and study relevance (job relevance in the TAM2 model) and facilitating conditions as extensions are confirmed also. However, other elements of the TAM2 model and extensions were not confirmed by the research, while the relationships between these constructs, behavioural intention and LMS use were significant but not particularly strong. Thus, despite the ostensible robustness of the underlying structure and dimensionality of the TAM core constructs, its usefulness as a model to explain usage in this context and in a setting where acceptance and usage patterns have been established over prolonged periods of time is limited. The findings do, however, suggest certain initiatives to assist in increasing the perceived usefulness of the LMS.</span>
