Technical drawing is a means of communicating between the designer and the manufacturers to bring ideas into reality by means of drafting. This study investigated attribution styles as collates of students’ technical drawing task-persistence and academic performance using correlational research design. The population for this study consisted of 864 students of year II and the sample study comprised of 150 (93 males and 57 females) randomly selected from six technical colleges in Edo State, Nigeria. Three instruments, Academic Performance Attribution Style Questionnaire (APASQ), Technical Drawing Task-persistent Rating Scale (TDTPRS); and Technical Drawing Performance Test (TDPT) were developed and used for data collection. Cronbach Alpha reliability method was used to determine the reliability of the instruments and the results were obtained: SAASQ = .87; TDTPRS=.79; AND TDAT=.85. The findings of the study revealed that the technical drawing task-persistence of students was positively correlated by functional attribution style; and was negatively correlated by dysfunctional attribution style; functional attribution style positively correlated academic performance of students. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended among others that technical drawing teachers should model and teach the students the right attribution style that will enhance their learning of technical drawing.

Teachers’ knowledge, conceptualization and actual practices in the classroom influence students’ academic performance. The present study sought to determine the existing practices and knowledge of teachers about constructive feedback, and to find how the knowledge of teachers would predict teachers’ feedback practices in classroom.  A quantitative approach with survey research design was adopted to collect the data from the respondent through feedback knowledge questionnaire. The participants of the study were 396 secondary schools teachers of Karachi, Pakistan which were selected randomly from the population. Findings show that the teachers have good knowledge about providing constructive feedback as all the mean values of the constructs were in the range of acceptance (3.61-4.18). However they are not utilizing this knowledge in their daily teaching, as evidence from the descriptive analysis shows that majority teachers (69%) are taking more than a week time to provide feedback, and it is mostly in the form of verbal comments (64.1%) or just only tick or cross mark on students’ work (76.2%). That is the reason that insignificant results were found between teachers’ practices and their perception with very week negative correlation and effect size was also found negligible. Professional trainings are recommended to overcome this contradiction.

In the present era of globalisation, higher-education institutions are required to focus on innovation to deal with the various challenges. Considering what Islamic higher-education institutions in Indonesia, have achieved in recent times, they face an uphill struggle to compete at the global level. This study aimed at identifying and analysing the dynamics of resilience for globalisation in a state Islamic–University in Indonesia. The results of studies on the management of Islamic tertiary institutions, specifically on organizational resilience, are very difficult to find. This study used the qualitative analysis method of a case-study and comprised in-depth interviews with key people concerned with the management of the university, observation, and secondary data namely academic documents, photos, and information from the university’s official website. The findings showed the university’s continuous efforts to improve not only the academic community’s management skills, knowledge, and expertise but also the implementation of international-curriculum standardization and cooperation with overseas universities. These actions cannot be separated from obstacles faced by university from within and without particularly in terms of funding-related policies. The university’s program-based innovations which are yet to be carried out by other Islamic-universities in Indonesia indicate this institution’s initiative to break the obstacles.

The unprecedented changes in the education sector due to the recent pandemic demand teachers and students to adapt to new ways of learning via online platforms. A plethora of latest research has investigated various topics such as online learning platforms, online learning materials, and teacher/student perceptions; however, little is known about the link between online learning and achievement. Occupying this lacuna, this study specifically sought to examine the relationship between self-regulated learning (SRL), the digital learning environment, and student’ academic achievement during the pandemic.  The population of this research was 1,800 students (freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior class) enrolled for the Introduction to Management course at a state university in Bandung, Indonesia. Selected using a proportionate random sampling, 317 students participated as the respondents.  The data were collected through questionnaire surveys, while the Structural Equation Model (SEM) was employed to analyze the interrelationship among the construct variables.  The results of this study show that promoting SRL may affect the optimization of the digital learning environment and academic achievements.  Students with better self-regulated learning ability can somehow optimize their digital learning environment and be more progressive in terms of academic achievement.

The idea of sustainability has long become a regulatory concept applied in national and international policies worldwide. This study aimed to investigate the understanding, attitude, and behavior levels towards education and sustainable development among key players in teacher education program, particularly in Biology, including learners, educators, administrators, and supporting personnel from the Biology Department of a public university in Malaysia. A set of validated questionnaires was administered online to 61 participants. A semi-structured interview was carried out with 9 randomly selected participants. An expert in the curriculum was referred to in search of integration of sustainable development in the current pro forma. Readiness was found highest in behavior, followed by both understanding and attitude. Courses in the Biology Teacher Education program need a well-planned integration to meet the sustainable development concept. Thus, we recommend readiness analysis as a part of the requirement in sustainable development-integrated curriculum design. The implication of this study is, a strategic action plan to interconnect the players' readiness and curriculum design is a new imperative element in the teacher education program.

Even though economics learning in Senior High Schools has been able to increase students’ economic knowledge, their economic behavior is still far from being appropriate, whereas their concern for others, the environment, and even for themselves is lacking. The aims of this study were to apply caring economics learning (CEL) at senior high schools in Indonesia and to observe the internalization of caring economics attitude among the students through action research. It contained instructional package consisting of lesson plans, student worksheets, instructional materials, instructional media, and learning assessment in the form of situational judgment tests (SJTs). The CEL employed case method that was implemented in three learning activities. The data were obtained through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The study has revealed that the CEL was assessed by the observers as good and excellent. The success of caring attitude development on the students was reflected in the number of students showing caring attitudes, which increased from the first learning activity (52%) to the last one (95%). Based on the SJT-1, 55.56% of students achieved high scores and 44.44% had moderate scores. Based on the SJT-2, the number of students with high scores increased significantly (77.78%), while the number of students who had moderate scores decreased considerably (22.22%).

Scientific Literacy (SL) is an important competency to deal with and keep up with the increasingly sophisticated technological developments. However, information about the SL of prospective gifted young scientists over 15 years old has not been widely revealed holistically. Therefore, this survey research aimed to investigate the SL performance of prospective gifted young scientists holistically and compare the SL performance based on the grade level. A total of 278 students from a public senior high school in Jombang Regency, East Java Province, Indonesia, participated in this research. They were asked to take the SL test with 18 essential question items. As a result, the participants still showed low SL performance (total success rate = 40). The one-way ANOVA test results indicated no significant difference in the participants' SL performance based on the grade level. Therefore, three recommendations were provided: teachers should use various learning models, SL should be an explicit focus in science and non-science classrooms, and schools need to be equipped with supporting facilities to accommodate student readiness to practice SL.

One of the ways to raise an entrepreneurial spirit through learning processes is the use of game simulation. Learning materials delivered using game simulation are expected to improve knowledge, understandings, and insights related to entrepreneurship. This study aimed to examine individual’s understanding of game-based entrepreneurship learning based on the expressions of like and dislike. Data of this study were collected by means of an open-ended questionnaire through a survey conducted for nine years (2011-2019). As many as 441 students participated in the entrepreneurship game called “Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB)” at a university in Indonesia. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively using NVivo 12plus. The results showed that participants liked the game because it could increase their entrepreneurial passions, skills, insights, and mindsets. However, what participants did not like about the game was related to its’ characteristics, the personal issues that it came out with, and the teamwork in the game. This study contributes to the development of a game-based entrepreneurship learning model by identifying participants' interests and discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the game implementation.

Parents have an important role in introducing character education to children. Positive parenting and agreeableness are considered to have essential influences on parent engagement in children’s character education mediated by religiosity. This study aimed to examine the effects of positive parenting and agreeableness towards parental engagement in character education with religiosity as the mediator. Data were obtained using five instruments, namely the parental engagement scale, agreeableness scale, religiosity scale, Islamic knowledge test items, and the positive parenting scale. The population of this research was the parents of students of Muhammadiyah elementary schools located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. By cluster random sampling technique, the study involved 210 parents. The collected data were analyzed using the SEM technique. The results of this study show that: (1) there was a significant relationship between positive parenting and agreeableness on parental engagement, (2) religiosity worked as a mediator of the relationship between positive parenting and agreeableness in parental engagement, and (3) religiosity worked better as the mediator of agreeableness than positive engagement. It was concluded that the correlation between agreeableness and parental engagement would not be formed without religiosity as a mediator.

Negative emotions remains common among some kindergarteners in general since it may impact their anxiety and stress. This study aimed to describe various elicitors for negative emotions among young children, their coping strategies, and the parents’ response to them in the gender perspective. The data were collected through questionnaires containing statements about coping strategies of their children developed using the Lazarus and Folkman theories and findings by Chalmers, Frydenberg, and Deans. The study involved 102 parents of children aged 4-6 years in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The findings show that elicitors for negative emotions among boys are dominated by physical bullying by peers, while in girls, they are dominated by unfulfilled wishes. Meanwhile, coping uses among boys are dominated by assertive behavior, while in girls, they share their concerns with others. Regarding the response in dealing with children’s negative emotions, the parents give them a gadget, such as smartphone, for both boys and girls. The study implies that more educational parenting model is needed to educate parents in handling negative emotions through coping skills and indiscriminating behavior.
