Results confirm domination of the occurrence of slime moulds on decaying wood of <i>Fagus</i> (33 taxa), as well as on <i>Tilia</i> (31). The list of species found on wood of <i>Acer pseudoplatanus</i> was extended up to 18. In such a specific microhabitat as litter 33 taxa were found, and among them abundant occurrence of <i>Diachea leucopodia</i> and <i>Diderma testaceum</i> was conspicuous. Dependence of the occurrence of myxomycetes on climatic conditions is manifeted by various periods of "fructification" of particular species. August and September were the most favourable months (49 taxa each) while July was the worst one (30 taxa). Slime moulds inhabiting litter had their maximum from June to August.

The results of the first study of the species diversity of myxomycetes of the Rdeysky State Nature Reserve are presented. The 201 field specimens of sporophores belonging to 56 morphospecies from 27 genera, ten families, and six orders were collected from September 30 to October 5, 2020. Fifty-two species of these were new for the Novgorod Region. The most common species at the reserve were Arcyria affinis, Hemitrichia calyculata, Lycogala epidendrum, Metatrichia vesparia, Physarum album, Trichia decipiens, and T. varia. Additionally, detailed morphological descriptions of two rare species Amaurochaete trechispora and Trichia crateriformis are given.

Tangale Nature reserve is a conservation area located in Gorontalo that have the biodiversity typical of Wallacea bioregion including macroscopic fungi. The purpose of this study was to identify the fungal species diversity found in the Tangale Nature reserve as well as its potential use, considering that the information on species diversity of fungi in the Wallacea region is very limited. This research was conducted using the cruise method by identifying macroscopic fungi along the hiking trail of Tangale Nature Reserve. The macroscopic fungi were observed for its morphological characteristic include the colour, diameter, surface of the veil, the shape of the stem, the length and diameter of the stem, the lamella, including ring and pore, type of lamella and the type of volva. The research recorded the substrates and the location where the fungus was found. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitative. The results of the research identified 28 species of macroscopic fungi that included to the division Ascomycota and Basidiomycota. It belongs to 16 families and 8 orders  are Pezizales, Agaricales, Auriculariales, Boletales, Cantharellales, Gomphales, Polyporales, dan Russulales. Based on place to grow as much as 57,14% were found growing on decaying wood and 42,86% found growing in the soil/litter. Based on the potential of use, it has identified four species of mushrooms potentially as edible mushroom are Pleurotus ostreatus,  Auricularia auricula, Ramaria formosa, and Polyporus arcularius. 11 species of mushrooms potentially as medicinal mushroom are Calvatia craniiformis, Scleroderma citrinum, Lenzites betulina, Microporus flabelliformis, Coriolus versicolor, Microporus xanthopus, and Albatrellus confluens.

The history of an eland population on the S A Lombard Nature Reserve in the western Transvaal is described. From a founder population of four eland in 1950 and 1951, the population grew to about 35 animals and was kept at this level through culling and translocation until 1976. During 1976 and 1977 unusual heavy rains were experienced and culling and removals were temporarily suspended. As a result the population increased unchecked and reached a peak of 81 in 1981. When climatic conditions returned to normal this was followed by a population crash in which 66 eland died over a period of three years. Calves are born throughout the year, but the majority of births occur during the period October to December, with a peak in November. The females have a high calving rate (90,9 ) and calf mortality is low (16,7 ).

Norway maple (Acer platanoides L., orthodox) and sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus L., recalcitrant) belong to the same genus and grow under similar climatic conditions, but their seeds differ in their tolerance to desiccation. The initial water content (WC) of the seeds used in this study was 50%, and they were dried to 40, 20 and 7%. The mitochondrial peroxiredoxin IIF (PRXIIF) was identified in seeds of both species by immunoblotting. Semiquantitative RT–PCR analyses indicated that the transcript level of PRXIIF in both types of seeds increased during different stages of desiccation and was higher in seeds of Norway maple than in sycamore. General proteome analyses showed important differences between orthodox and recalcitrant seeds. In sycamore seeds that had been desiccated to a 7% WC, the number of protein spots and the levels of those spots were lower than in desiccation-tolerant Norway maple seeds. Post-translational modifications of PRXIIF in seeds at a 50% WC were detected via 2D electrophoresis and subsequent western blot analysis. The detected shift in the pI values (± 0.3) in A. pseudoplatanus was possibly caused by phosphorylation because several potential phosphorylation sites were predicted in silico for that protein. The gene and amino acid sequences were obtained and aligned with known sequences of other plant PRXIIF genes and proteins. High values of sequence identity were noted between the PRXIIF protein sequences of Acer species, Populus trichocarpa Torr. & A. Gray and Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh. The involvement of PRXIIF in defining the physiological differences between desiccation-tolerant and desiccation-sensitive Acer seeds is discussed in the context of its role in mitochondrial redox homeostasis.

National Natural Park (NPP) “Dzharylgatskyi” was established by Decree of the President of Ukraine from December 11, 2009, on the territory of Skadovsky district of Kherson region. This was preceded by the creation of Dzharylgatskyi botanical reserve of national importance in 1974. According to the physical-geographical zoning of Ukraine, the territory of the NPP “Dzharylgatskyi” refers to the Nizhnedneprovsky terraced-delta landscape of the Black Sea-Pryazovsky dry-steppe region. The main territorial area of the National Park “Dzharylgatskyi” is the Dzharylgach island with a narrow spit in its western part. The geomorphologic location of the park belongs to the region of the coastal zone of the Nizhnedneprovsk oblast plain, which includes the Oleshkivski Sands and the Kinburn Spit. Island surroundings represent the psamophytic steppe and it is one of the great features of the nature reserve in the south of Ukraine. Island isolation – the remoteness from the settlements of the mainland – is the greatest natural value of Dzharylgach. This is the largest uninhabited island in Europe. Flora of the NPP “Dzharylgatskyi” includes about 500 species of higher plants. The uniqueness of the Dzharylgatsky natural complex, the mild climatic conditions in the winter and the location along the Azov-Black Sea migration corridor have created some favourable conditions for the abundance of a significant number of birds species in different seasons of the year. Dzharylhach Island is an important link between the coastal environmental corridor. It is a place for birds to rest and nest during seasonal migrations. The territory of the national park is the part of one of the largest wetlands of international importance – “Karkinitskaya and Dzharilgatska Gulfs”. NPP “Dzharylgatsky” belongs to the Skadovsk resort zone with its warm sea, sandy beaches, long swimming season, which characterizes the park as a unique area for recreation and tourism. Discovered on Dzharylgach put peloids in their characteristics meet the highest requirements for therapeutic mud. This article analyzes the features of the natural environment and resources of the National Park “Dzharylgatskyi.” Attention is drawn to the geomorphological features of island spit. The article also raises the question of developing nature reserve agencies, such as the natural laboratory (bank) to conserve rare animals and plants.

Recent occurrence of moss Buxbaumia viridis (Bryophyta, Buxbaumiaceae) in the Kłodzko region (Central and Eastern Sudetes, SW Poland) A rare epixylous moss, Buxbaumia viridis (Moug. ex Lam. & DC.) Brid. ex Moug. & Nestl., was searched at historical localities in the Kłodzko region, especially in Bialskie and Bystrzyckie Mts. The species was rediscovered at two localities in the upper part of the valley of Jedlnik stream on the east slope of Iwinka Mt. in Puszcza Śnieżnej Białki Nature Reserve. This paper presents data on autecology of B. viridis at one of the rediscovered localities as well as shows its current distribution in the Kłodzko region.

In the present study, we examined the utility of proline usage as a biochemical indicator of metabolic changes caused by climate change (mean temperature and precipitation) during seed development of two Acer species differing in desiccation tolerance: Norway maple (Acer platanoides L.—desiccation tolerant—orthodox) and sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus L.—desiccation sensitive—recalcitrant). In plants, proline is an element of the antioxidant system, which has a role in response to water loss and high temperatures. Our study considered whether proline could be treated as an indicator of tree seed viability, crucial for genetic resources conservation. Proline content was measured biweekly in developing seeds (between 11 and 23 weeks after flowering) collected in consecutive years (2017, 2018, and 2019). We showed that proline concentrations in recalcitrant seeds were positively correlated with mean two-week temperature. In contrast, in orthodox seeds no such relationship was found. Proline content proved to be sensitive to thermal-moisture conditions changes, which makes it a promising biochemical marker of seed desiccation tolerance in different climatic conditions.

The ecology of myxomycetes co-existing with the <em>Latridiidae</em> (Coleoptera), bryophytes and ascomycetous, basidiomycetous and anamorphic fungi were studied in Crimea and at different locations on the left bank of Ukraine. Results from the left bank indicate that the <em>Latridiidae</em> feed on myxomycetes. Colonies of the most common 13 myxomycete species (which included <em>Stemonitis axifera</em> (Bull.) Macbr., <em>S. fusca</em> Roth, <em>S. splendens</em> Rost., <em>Fuligo septica</em> (L.) Wigg. and <em>Mucilago crustacea</em> Wigg.) were inhabited by 5 species of the <em>Latridiidae</em>. Myxomycete spores were present in guts of 19 of the 25 beetle specimens investigated. Beetles <em>Latridius hirtus, Enicmus rugosus</em> and <em>E fungicola</em> seem to be obligate myxomycete feeders, while <em>Corticarina truncatella</em> was clearly facultative. 13 species of myxomycetes were recorded on 9 species of moss and 3 species of liverwort developing on decaying wood or bark in the Crimean Nature Reserve. Relations between myxomycetes and bryophytes on woody substrata are spatial rather than trophic, and are possibly regulated by specific microclimatic conditions inside bryophyte thallomes. 69 species of myxomycetes were found co-existing with 36 species of ascomycetes, 21 species of basidiomycetes and 9 species of anamorphic fungi in the Crimean Nature Reserve. Associations formed by myxomycetes and fungi on different woody substrata are analyzed.

In the paper the results of two years mycological studies carried out in the "Łężczok" reserve are presented. Due to specific habitat diversity an interesting distribution model of some fungal taxa was observed. The data on each taxon include: abundance, type of substrate, type of habitats and information on fruit-bodies occurrence.
